I find it too repetitive to be honest.

I have tried to like Dora the Explorer, as I am all for educational shows. For example Tots TV, Sesame Street and Rosie and Jim were educational and all three of them I loved as a kid because they were also a lot of fun. As an 18 year old girl, I kept in consideration that this was a kids show, but sorry I don t like it. The first problem and my major problem with Dora the Explorer is that it is too repetitive. The scripting, the music, the story lines. they felt the same in every episode. Another problem is that I for one don t find it educational, there was an episode when Dora I think counted to ten in Spanish. Kids will definitely find that educational, but for someone who studied Spanish for two years, I couldn t help rolling my eyes at something I already knew. Then the story lines are unoriginal for the most part, the music is forgettable(to me that is though I do appreciate that they were keeping it simple for kids to remember, but I personally felt they went overboard with the simplicity), the characters are thin, the writing is shallow and for me the voice acting was unexceptional. On a plus, the animation was nice to look at, simple but colourful and bright. Overall, sorry but I don t like it, kids will love it but being older it doesn t appeal to me. 1/10 for the animation. Uncovering the man, uncovering the truth.

On January 28th 1986, the Space Shuttle Challenger broke up 73 seconds after the twenty-fifth Space Shuttle launch, killing all seven of its crew members. The disaster was, at the time, the most catastrophic loss in NASA history and is still remembered as one of the most disastrous and heartbreaking days in human space exploration. Following the tragedy a Commission was set up to get to the bottom of the disaster and uncover the cause of shuttle failure. On the Commission was perhaps the most famous of the twentieth century, Richard Feynman.

The Challenger (formerly titled Feynman and the Challenger) is a made for TV movie which first aired on the BBC on March 18th 2013. The film focuses on the role Richard Feynman (William Hurt) played in the Commission and the lengths that he went to; to prove what was really behind the Shuttle s failure that January morning. The film intersperses real footage, including that of the actual event with dramatisations of Feynman s quest for answers which are taken from Feynman s autobiographical book What Do You Care What Other People Think? The movie is well researched and generally very well made and features a terrific central performance and compelling story.

I was born just under a month after the Challenger disaster but it was a part of my childhood. My parents had a huge poster on the stairs of one of the houses I grew up in of the crew and the Shuttle which used to intrigue and haunt me. As I got older I became very interested in Space exploration and in my twenties threw off the horrors of High School Physics lessons to become interested in physics. I am to physics what a football fan is to football. I m fascinated by it and get engrossed in small details but put me on the field and I d lose the ball faster than the speed of light. I am an enthusiastic amateur. All of the above is a very long and drawn out way of saying that the plot of The Challenger is of great interest to me. Its principle character Richard Feynman is a man who I have some but not much knowledge of and most of my knowledge comes from the odd popular science book, YouTube clips and occasional popular science lecture delivered by the likes of Prof. Brian Cox, Simon Singh and Ben Goldacre as well as the comedy of Robin Ince. I was fascinated then to learn more.

The film introduced me to a Feynman I wasn t expecting to meet. The Feynman I ve seen footage of was controlled and firm and had a distinguishable but refined Queens accent. William Hurt s Feynman is much more Californian . His accent is slightly different and his portrayal is more agitated and messy. I don t mean any of this in a bad way though and think it matches the state that the man was in both mentally and physically. Although slightly dishevelled, Hurt has more than a passing resemblance to the scientist he is portraying. What is obvious from the film is that the budget doesn t match that of an average theatrical film. There are corners cut in various places which sometimes detracts slightly from the movie as a whole but luckily the story is strong enough that it rarely gets in the way.

The plot is deeply fascinating and encompasses physics, ethics, finance and politics. All four combine in a tense and agitated melting pot which forms the Commission and it soon becomes apparent that Feynman is coming at the case from a different angle to the majority of the Commissioners. Early on he is frustrated by a lack of pace in the meetings and then he is stifled by the rigours step by step process. Feynman takes it upon himself to dig around and visits various NASA facilities in which he is viewed with suspicion by scientists and technicians scared to be held accountable. This sets up more conflict in the Commission and Feynman finds himself short of allies. He does however find a friend in Air force General Kutyna (Bruce Greenwood) who, like the audience by now, is sympathetic to the Physicist s cause. What follows is a slow unravelling of the facts which without Feynman may never have come to light.

The film treads a thin line between telling the truth and attacking the likes of NASA and Solid Rocket manufacturer Morton Thiokol much as Feynman did himself. Although my limited knowledge gave me some insight into the disaster and subsequent findings I was fascinated to be taken on the journey towards the discovery and felt that the film blended this with Feynman s health issues very well. It was clear from the outset that this was about Challenger first and his health second, something which again mirrors Feynman himself. Even the title of the movie can refer to the craft and the man. Occasionally I found myself questioning cover-ups and discoveries which seemed a little too dramatic and possibly exaggerated but my knowledge doesn t extend far enough to know what was real and what was invented. It is my belief and hope though that the vast majority of what I saw on screen was real. The actual footage certainly was and despite having seen it numerous times, it s still heartbreakingly sad.

Overall The Challenger manages to get to the heart of the disaster and uncovers a man who deserves to be better known than he is. William Hurt is superb and the plot is fascinating in every detail. I had a few problems with realism and dramatic licence and the budget caused some issues but overall I d recommend the movie to anyone with a passing interest in NASA, the disaster, Richard Feynman or just good detective thrillers. Like most good true stories it made me want to learn more for myself which on its own proves the movie was a success.

Top 10 Guidelines for Homepage Usability

Summary: A company s homepage is its face to the world and the starting point for most user visits. Improving your homepage multiplies the entire website s business value, so following key guidelines for homepage usability is well worth the investment.

Homepages are the most valuable real estate in the world. Each year, companies and individuals funnel millions of dollars through a space that’s not even a square foot in size. For good reason. A homepage’s impact on a company’s bottom line is far greater than simple measures of e-commerce revenues: The homepage is your company’s face to the world. Increasingly, potential customers will look at your company’s online presence before doing business with you — regardless of whether they plan to close the actual sale online. (Update: our studies of B2B usability found that this is the predominant behavior of business users.)

The homepage is the most important page on most websites. and gets more page views than any other page. Of course, users don’t always enter a website from the homepage. A website is like a house in which every window is also a door: People can follow links from search engines and other websites that reach deep inside your site. However, one of the first things these users do after arriving at a new site is go to the homepage. Deep linking is very useful, but it doesn’t give users the site overview a homepage offers — if the homepage design follows strong usability guidelines, that is.

Following are ten things you can do to increase the usability of your homepage and thus enhance your website’s business value.

Make the Site’s Purpose Clear: Explain Who You Are and What You Do

1. Include a one-sentence tagline

Start the page with a tagline that summarizes what the site or company does, especially if you’re new or less than famous. Even well-known companies presumably hope to attract new customers and should tell first-time visitors about the site’s purpose. It is especially important to have a good tagline if your company’s general marketing slogan is bland and fails to tell users what they’ll gain from visiting the site.

2. Write a window title with good visibility in search engines and bookmark lists

Begin the TITLE tag with the company name, followed by a brief description of the site. Don’t start with words like “The” or “Welcome to” unless you want to be alphabetized under “T” or “W.”

3. Group all corporate information in one distinct area

Finding out about the company is rarely a user’s first task, but sometimes people do need details about who you are. Good corporate information is especially important if the site hopes to support recruiting, investor relations. or PR. but it can also serve to increase a new or lesser-known company’s credibility. An “About company-name ” section is the best way to link users to more in-depth information than can be presented on the homepage. (See also my report on usability guidelines for the design of “about us” areas of corporate websites .)

Help Users Find What They Need

4. Emphasize the site’s top high-priority tasks

Your homepage should offer users clear starting points for the main 1–4 tasks they’ll undertake when visiting your site.

5. Include a search input box

Search is an important part of any big website. When users want to search, they typically scan the homepage looking for “the little box where I can type,” so your search should be a box. [Make your search box at least 25 characters wide,] so it can accommodate multiple words without obscuring parts of the user’s query.

(Update: Based on more recent findings, my recommendation is now to make the search box 27 characters wide. This and other new guidelines are covered in our course on Top Web UX Design Guidelines at the annual UX Conference .)

Reveal Site Content

6. Show examples of real site content

Don’t just describe what lies beneath the homepage. Specifics beat abstractions. and you have good stuff. Show some of your best or most recent content.

7. Begin link names with the most important keyword

Users scan down the page, trying to find the area that will serve their current goal. Links are the action items on a homepage, and when you start each link with a relevant word. you make it easier for scanning eyes to differentiate it from other links on the page. A common violation of this guideline is to start all links with the company name, which adds little value and impairs users’ ability to find what they need quickly.

8. Offer easy access to recent homepage features

Users will often remember articles, products, or promotions that were featured prominently on the homepage, but they won’t know how to find them once you move the features inside the site. To help users locate key items, keep a short list of recent features on the homepage, and supplement it with a link to a permanent archive of all other homepage features.

Use Visual Design to Enhance, not Define, Interaction Design

9. Don’t over-format critical content, such as navigation areas

You might think that important homepage items require elaborate illustrations, boxes, and colors. However, users often dismiss graphics as ads and focus on the parts of the homepage that look more likely to be useful.

10. Use meaningful graphics

Don’t just decorate the page with stock art. Images are powerful communicators when they show items of interest to users, but they will backfire if they seem frivolous or irrelevant. For example, it’s almost always best to show photos of real people actually connected to the topic. rather than pictures of models.

Password Breaking in Access

MS Access uses the underlying Jet Database Engine. Using Access Password, you can reveal passwords for any Jet databases, not only Access databases.

Note that the security model in MS Access is quite complex (although it is insecure). There are two different password types: user passwords and database passwords. Read this article for more information on Access password types. Note that database passwords were introduced in Access 95. MS Access v2.0 does not support database passwords. In MS Access 2007, the security model has been redesigned; database security has been improved, and user passwords have been removed at all. You can find more information on password types in MS Access in this article .

Database passwords for old Access databases (2003 and earlier) can be recovered instantly. To recover Access 2007 passwords, you have to use the universal password recovery methods. such as Brute Force Attack and Dictionary Attack. This may take a long time if the password is long and complex. Fortunately, we offer a unique Guaranteed Access 2007 Password Recovery Service. You can recover any password-protected Access 2007 database within 48 hours – regardless of the password length (databases created with earlier versions of Access can be recovered instantly). You can find further information on Guaranteed Access 2007 Password Recovery Service here. In Access 2010 password protection has been redesigned once again. Now Access 2010 uses the same password protection scheme as do other Office applications, such as Word, Excel or OneNote. This password protection scheme is very hard to break; Access 2010 password recovery is an extremely challenging task. Find more information here .

User passwords are stored in a so-called system database (.mda (old Access 2.0) or .mdw (modern versions) file).

IMPORTANT NOTE: the system database is required to crack a user password. If the system database is lost, there is no way to recover user passwords. If your system database is lost, please contact us for further information). To recover a database password, select the database itself (.mdb or .mde file). To recover user passwords, select the system database (.mda or .mdw file).

Access Password can automatically find the currently registered system database. Note that it is very important to use the correct system database. Often password problems with Access databases are caused by using an improper system database.

Note: We recover lost or forgotten passwords to Access password-protected files, but if your file is corrupted or damaged you can use use special data recovery tools. more information .

VBA Password

  • Access Password does not recover passwords to VBA Modules in Access databases. If you need to recover such a password, use our VBA Password

  • All you ever need to fix your password problems in MS Office.

OctoPASS – Distributed Password Recovery System!

  • Multiple servers working together to attack your password.

Recomended for power users having multiple hardware resources.

Broken databases If a database is broken, Access may erroneously ask for a password. There is no chance to recover such database with any password recovery tool. Access databases often get broken due to a horrible bug made by Microsoft in Office XP. This bug is confirmed (and fixed in the later releases) by Microsoft, more information can be found here. There is a well-known auto-replace feature in MS Word, for example, Word replaces a (c) sequence with a single copyright character. In all databases broken because of this bug, the reverse replacement was performed. The 0a9h byte is replaced with a (c) sequence (ASCII 0a9h is a copyright symbol), 0aeh – (r) and so forth. As a result Access databases are broken and there is a little chance to convert them back. If you open a broken database with a HEX editor you’ll see, for instance, the ‘(c)’ text at offset 21h while the 0a9h byte must be there. Access Password can detect a broken database and raise a warning that the database is broken rather than password-protected. We can try to recover your broken database manually but please note that it is a rather expensive service. Email us for a price quote. In your letter, please specify the size of your database.

Blonde Ice (1948 )

fantastic ice cool blonde central performance

Much as I love the film noir genre, a lot of so called noir do turn out to be little more than B movie filler. Every now and again though one turns up to surprise you. This is nothing incredible but is very watchable indeed with a fantastic ice cool blonde central performance from Leslie Brooks. She seems to have had a decent career but I don t recall her taking the lead in anything else I ve seen – gangster s moll more like. Based on the book by Whitman Chambers ( Once Too Often , although interestingly, Manhandled on my own copy, which is a bit misleading because this lady doesn t get manhandled by anyone). The film lacks those deep dark shadows and night time location shooting, it even lacks any real baddies, unless you count the aspiring politician, but it does have a femme fatale. And what a performance Leslie Brooks gives as the most convincing ruthless ice maiden who does all the killing herself. Bit slow to start and seems to be slipping into screwball territory at one point but once on track this smokes.

This section describes permissions. which are rights that you grant to a user, group, or role that define what tasks users are allowed to perform in your AWS account. To define permissions, you use policies. which are documents in JSON format.

To learn more, we recommend you read the following sections:
