Do you need private medical insurance?

Private medical insurance (also known as health insurance) can supplement what’s available on the NHS. If you don’t already have it as part of your employee benefits package and you can afford to pay the premiums, you might decide it’s worth paying extra to have more choice over your care.

Private medical insurance – What is it?

Not sure what something means? Have a look at our Protection insurance glossary.

Most UK residents are entitled to free healthcare from the NHS.

Health insurance pays all – or some – of your medical bills if you’re treated privately.

It gives you a choice in the level of care you get and how and when it is provided.

You don’t have to take out private medical insurance – but if you don’t want to use the NHS, you might find it hard to pay for private treatment without insurance, especially for serious conditions.

What does it cover?

Like all insurance, the cover you get from private medical insurance depends on the policy you buy.

Basic private medical insurance usually picks up the costs of most in-patient treatments (tests and surgery) and day-care surgery.

Some policies extend to out-patient treatments (such as specialists and consultants) and might pay you a small fixed amount for each night you spend in an NHS hospital.

What isn’t covered?

Your healthcare insurance usually won’t cover private treatment for:

  • Organ transplants
  • Injuries relating to dangerous
  • Pre-existing medical conditions
  • Normal pregnancy and childbirth costs
  • Cosmetic surgery to improve your appearance
  • Injuries relating to dangerous sports or arising from war or war-like hostilities
  • Chronic illnesses such as HIV/AIDs-related illnesses, diabetes, epilepsy, hypertension and related illnesses

You might be able to choose a policy which covers mental health, depression and sports injuries but these aren’t always covered.

Do you need it?

Did you know?

NHS patients who need treatment in hospital wait an average of 8.1 weeks. Only 1 in 10 waits longer than 18 weeks.

Source: Department of Health data from January 2012

It’s very much a personal choice.

You get free treatment on the NHS, so you only really need private medical insurance if:

  • You would prefer not to wait for NHS treatment.
  • You just don’t want to use the NHS and would prefer to stick to private hospitals where possible.
  • You want to be covered for drugs and treatment you can’t get on the NHS, like specialist surgery for sports-related injuries (check that the treatment is included in your policy before you buy).

Who doesn’t need private medical insurance cover?

You don’t need private medical insurance if:

  • You’re happy to rely on the NHS for your care
  • You already have medical insurance through your employee benefits package
  • You’re worried about your child becoming sick – children get immediate priority on the NHS
  • You only have spare cash for basic insurance, like car and home insurance (and life insurance if you have dependants)
  • You have debts to repay and no savings – you should put your money towards those, rather than private medical insurance.
  • You can pay for individual treatments – if you have sufficient savings it might be more cost effective to pay for any treatment you might need privately than to pay regular insurance premiums.

Pros and cons

Note: all of this depends on the type of policy you buy.

  • Specialist referrals. You can ask your GP to refer you to an expert or specialist working privately to get a second opinion or specialist treatment.
  • Get the scans you want. If the NHS delays a scan, or won’t let you have one, you can use your cover to pay for it.
  • Reduce the waiting time. You can use your insurance to reduce the time you spend waiting for NHS treatment, if your wait time is more than six weeks.
  • Choose your surgeon and hospital. You can (in theory) choose a surgeon and hospital to suit your time and place – which isn’t possible on the NHS.
  • Get a private room. You can use it to get a private room, rather than staying in an open ward which might be mixed-sex.
  • Specialist drugs and treatments might be available. Some specialist drugs and treatments aren’t available on the NHS because they’re too expensive or not approved by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence in England and Wales (NICE) or the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC).
  • Physiotherapy. You get quicker access to physiotherapy sessions if you have insurance than you would through NHS treatment.
  • You might get better care on the NHS. If you have a serious illness such as cancer, heart disease or stroke, you’ll get priority NHS treatment. NHS hospitals can be as good as or better than private hospitals.
  • It’s expensive – and the price will go up. A typical family premium (two adults in their 40s and two children under 10) can vary from £700 to £1,650 per year. Premiums will rise every year, and with age – so by the time you’re older, and more likely to need hospital treatment, you might not be able to afford it.
  • Chronic illnesses aren’t usually covered. Most policies don’t cover chronic illnesses which are incurable, such as diabetes and some cancers.
  • There might not be any local treatment options. If you choose a policy with an approved list of consultants and hospitals this might not include the expert consultant you want to see or a convenient location for treatment.

Is private medical insurance good value for money?

Waiting times in the NHS are currently pretty good and fairly stable, so there’s less need to pay privately in order to reduce the time it takes you to get back to work or to good health.

It can be good value if you might need specialist, expensive treatment.

If you’re a sporting enthusiast, for example, you might want access to specialist private treatment that isn’t available in the NHS – like surgeons and experts who only do private work.

You’d need to have a policy that covers the type of treatment you might need.

If you needed to make more than one claim, it’s quite likely that private medical insurance would save you money.

Even if you get private medical insurance, you’ll keep your right to use the NHS.

It remains a safety net that will pick up the tab for anything that isn’t covered by your insurance policy.

Alternative options if you want to go private

  • Use savings for all or part of your medical costs – around one in five private patients do this. Hip and knee replacements cost an average of £10,000 each, while MRI scans cost from £600. You can shop around for scan prices – your GP can help you do this.
  • Just pay for a private consultation if you want an expert or second opinion. Then, if necessary, your consultant will refer you back into the NHS for treatment.

Other types of insurance to consider

If you fall ill or have an accident and can’t work, you might find it hard to keep up mortgage payments or handle the bills – especially if you don’t have enough savings or sick pay from your employer.

Your priority should be insurance that keeps you out of financial difficulty such as income protection.

Compare Buying a Car from a Dealership or Private Party, private party auto loans.#Private #party #auto #loans

Dealer Versus Private Party Purchases

Our goal is to give you the most up-to-date, accurate information about your state DMV’s processes. The date you see here reflects the most recent time we’ve verified this information with your state DMV. When they change something, we do, too!

Ready to buy a used car? Have you decided whether you’ll visit a used car dealer or buy from a private party? Are you familiar with the differences between the two?

We’ve got the information you need to learn more about used car dealer purchases versus private party purchases, the pros and cons of each, and how to weigh them against each other to make the best decision for you.

Dealership Private Party Used Car Sales

When you decide to buy a used car, you can buy from either a used car dealer or a private party.

Generally, buying a used car from a dealer takes a lot of pressure off of you—the buyer—because typically the dealer handles all the nuts and bolts of car buying (such as paperwork); on the other hand, private party car sales mean you and the seller must take care of the entire transaction yourselves. On the flip side, you may find it much easier to negotiate a price you want with a private party, especially if they have a pressing need to sell.

This is just a glimmer of what to expect when buying a used car from a dealer versus private party car sales. Let’s take a look at some of the other pros and cons of each.

Dealership Purchases: Pros Cons

Pros to buying your used car through a dealership include the following:

  • As stated above, generally the dealer handles all the paperwork associated with ownership or title transfer and registration for you.
  • Most dealerships offer financing options.

  • You can always look into bank auto loans, but it’s still nice to have options you can compare.
  • Sometimes, dealerships offer warranties on their used cars.
  • Usually, cars from a used car dealer have been thoroughly inspected and, if necessary, repaired.
  • Some dealers sell certified pre-owned vehicles.

    • This means the used car has been through an official series of inspections and possible repairs, and comes with a special warranty.
  • You might have to visit only a few dealership locations to find the right used car for you.
  • You might already have a used vehicle you can use as a trade-in vehicle, which could act as part of the “new” used car’s down payment.
  • Buying a used car from a dealer offers you more legal protection than buying from a private party.

    • For example, because of the stringent laws dealerships must follow, you’re less likely to run into problems such as purchasing a lemon or undisclosed salvaged vehicle.
  • Consider these cons of buying with a dealership before making your purchase:

    • Sometimes, used car dealerships charge higher prices than do private parties (and leave less room for negotiation).
    • You must deal with a professional sales team, which could get pushy as they often rely heavily on sales commissions.

    • Unfortunately, these sales personnel may not have your best interests at heart; they want to make the sale so they can make their commission.
  • It’s easy to get distracted by special deals and lose sight of your bigger picture.

    • You might walk onto the lot knowing what you want, but a dealership’s holiday sales, sales pitches, and buyer incentives could derail you.
  • Private Party Purchases: Pros Cons

The following are pros to buying your used car through a private party:

    • Many private parties use “blue book” value (generally from the Kelley Blue Book) to determine their asking price.

    • The KBB is an excellent resource for determining the true value of a used car.
  • Sometimes, you have more negotiating room with private sellers.

    • Again, you can refer to the KBB to get a seller’s original asking price lowered.
    • Also, sometimes sellers are eager enough to move their used cars that they’ll accept an “OBO” (“Or Best Offer”).
  • Although they want to sell their used cars, many private sellers aren’t as pushy as dealership salespeople can be.
  • Of course, buying from a private seller isn’t free of risks. Consider the following cons:

    • Private sellers aren’t bound by the same strict state and federal laws as are dealerships.
    • You won’t receive a warranty on the vehicle.

    • Most private sellers sell their used cars “as is,” meaning, you’re stuck with whatever problems pop up.
  • Generally, there are no trade-in options; sellers want cash, not your current vehicle.
  • Typically, a lot more footwork goes into finding the right used car from a private seller.

    • Unless you get lucky, you could find yourself visiting way more private sellers than you would used car dealerships—and you must research each and every one of those used cars.
  • Ordering a vehicle history report is easy enough, but having a trusted mechanic inspect the vehicle depends on the seller’s time—not yours.
  • You and the private seller are responsible for all the paperwork.

    • Such paperwork can include the bill of sale and/or transferring the title, as well as transferring the registration and handling all related taxes and fees.
    • Most often, these transactions mean a trip to your department of motor vehicles or equivalent agency.
  • Depending on your state of residence, it’s up to you to make sure the vehicle is up to date on its smog and inspection requirements.
  • Dealer or Private Party: Your Choice

Going over our list of pros and cons above might make you feel as if buying a used car from a dealer is the way to go—and for many, it is.

However, that’s not to say that buying a used car from a private party is without its perks. Even with all the paperwork and other transactions you must handle yourself, buying from a private seller sometimes is more convenient.

Weigh the pros and cons against your personal situation (what kind of budget do you have? How much time can you spend? Who is offering the exact used car you want?) before you make your choice. Don’t enter either transaction on a whim.

  • Kelley Private Party Value, Used Car Values for Private Car Sales, private party auto loans.#Private #party #auto #loans

    Kelley Private

is Willing to Pay For It

The Kelley Private Party Value is, in my opinion, the most worthless of the four values that Kelley Blue Book (KBB) provides.

Ouch! I know that may have come across a little rough, but I’ll explain why in a second.

Although, I don’t think it is a very significant number, I’d like to show you some ways to use the Kelley Private Party Value if you are looking to buy a car via a private party car sale and want to wiggle a seller down.

If you are considering selling a car via private party car sales, then I’d also like to show you why it’s best to ignore this number if you want to maximize profits.

    Why I Consider It

To Be A Fairly Worthless Value

I consider it to be fairly worthless, because it is not a very easy value to get accurate data on.

Sure Kelley Blue Book could check registration data and sale prices through the Motor Vehicle Departments records, but how many buyers and sellers actually report accurate numbers with private party car sales.

It usually benefits both the buyer and the seller to report a lower sale price.

For instance, if the actual sale price was $10,000, but the buyer reports only paying $5,000 for the vehicle, then they pay half in taxes.

From the sellers stand point, why not go along with that. If the buyer ever tries to sue for their money back down the road, the seller is only liable for the provable sale price of half, or $5,000.

It also seems overly convenient to me that the private party value established by Kelley Blue Book almost always falls neatly, and squarely, between their retail value and wholesale value.

I don’t think Kelley Blue Book has quite the handle on the private party value as they’d like you to believe.

How A Buyer Can Use It

    To Negotiate A Better Price

Whether I believe it to be a worthless number or not, there are thousands upon thousands of consumers that consider Kelley Blue Book values to be the “end all be all” of used car values.

If Kelley Says So, Then It Must Be So!

You can oftentimes use that mentality to your advantage if you are dealing with a somewhat stubborn private party seller and you feel they are asking too much for their car.

Simply use the Kelley Private Party Value (assuming it’s less than the sale price) as a reference to show them, without appearing insulting, that this is what the “whole world agrees” this car is worth via a private party car sale.

Use other peoples perceptions, of Kelley Blue Book as the leader in used car values, to your advantage here.

    Ignore This Value If You

Are Selling A Car Private Party

If you are selling a car private party, then don’t start out asking the private party value for your car. If you do this and someone eagerly comes along and pays the full asking price, then you probably just left money on the table.

Always start high, especially if the vehicle you are selling is in good shape and/or has extras that Kelley Blue Book would only give a limited or even no value for.

and on, and on, and on.

Always price the vehicle just a bit higher than you’d feel comfortable asking for it. You never know someone may just come along and pay it all.

Trust me, it’s a heck of a lot easier to go down in price then to go up. If you’re still concerned, then be sure to always list the sales price with OBO (or best offer).

Of course, if you are in a serious hurry to sell the vehicle, then you may have to settle for a less profitable deal and these tips may not apply.

If you are sure you’ll be selling your vehicle via a private party car sale, then you’ll definitely want to read my How To Sell A Car Guide. This will help simplify the process and will help you to maximize profits!

If after all this you feel you’d still like to reference the Kelley Private Party Value, then by all means do so, but keep in mind that Kelley Blue Book is simply a guide. Nothing more and nothing less.

    Private Party Loans

    By Justin Pritchard. Banking/Loans Expert

Justin Pritchard helps consumers navigate the world of banking.

Private party loans can refer to a few different things. The traditional (and most common) type of loan is an auto loan used to purchase a used vehicle. Instead of buying from a dealer. you re buying from a private party. so getting a loan is a little bit different.

Some of these loans are a great deal for all involved.

    Private Party Auto Loans

In the age of Craigslist and similar sites, finding a used car is easy. But finding funding isn t as simple. If you buy from a dealership, they ll offer (or push ) financing, which they ve arranged with local or national lenders, and it s hard not to walk out without getting a loan.

When you re dealing with a private seller, lenders are more hesitant. They don t know anything about the vehicle — it s your responsibility to figure out what it s worth.

However, banks and credit unions know that there is money to be made in lending money, so they offer private party loans.

Private party auto loans are similar to standard auto loans, but they tend to come with a slightly higher interest rate, and they generally won t last as long (banks are taking more risk with a used vehicle, so they want to limit their risk).

    Where to Get One

To get a private party auto loan, you ll need to apply, and approval will be based on the same factors that affect every loan: mainly your credit scores and your debt to income ratios ; the lender wants to see that you ve got enough income to repay the loan, and that you re familiar with borrowing money.

If you can t qualify, you can always try using a co-signer .

Numerous banks and credit unions offer these loans. A quick search will show you some of the big banks in the market, but you should also shop smaller institutions. If you aren t having any luck with a big bank, try a small local bank or credit union. which might be more accommodating.

    Other Types of Private Loans

Sometimes loans between individuals create a win-win situation: great for lenders (who earn more than they can at the bank) and borrowers (who pay less interest than they would at the bank). When borrowers have poor credit, private loans may be the only option available, although they generally come with higher rates.

    Where to Borrow

There are basically two ways to find private party loans: peer to peer lending services and people you know. To borrow from strangers, visit a peer to peer lending site and apply for a loan. Even if you set up a private party loan with somebody you know, these sites may help with loan documentation and servicing.

    Documentation

Documentation is a key to any private party loan. Make sure everything is spelled out in writing, and everybody understands and agrees. While it may seem overly formal, documentation can prevent headaches and heartbreaks in the future.

To document your private loan, write an agreement or use somebody else’s. For larger loans, it’s probably best to use a professionally prepared agreement — a lot can go wrong, and good loan agreements anticipate pitfalls.

For private party loan documents, search the web, work with a local attorney, or use a peer to peer lending service that specializes in these loans. For example, LoanKin sells agreements and even processes payments on mortgages and other loans.

    Comparing the Top 10 Private Cloud Providers #private #cloud, #cloud #companies, #cloud #adoption

    #

    Private Cloud Computing Providers

These top companies private cloud vendors offers solutions that enable enterprises to deploy and manage a wide array of private cloud environments.

Deciding which private cloud providers are the leading private cloud companies is somewhat complex. When it comes to the public cloud. it’s pretty easy to figure out which companies are the leaders. Amazon Web Services dominates the market with Microsoft, IBM and Google trailing and several niche players farther down the list.

But the private cloud market is far more diverse in part because it takes a lot of different types of products and services to build a private cloud. Some vendors sell cloud-ready hardware, others sell cloud software and still others sell virtual private cloud services .

As the cloud computing market has matured, attitudes toward the private cloud have clearly changed. Early on, say in 2010, there was a reluctance among businesses to migrate to the public cloud, certainly some foot dragging. As companies weighed the pros and cons of cloud deployment, they were far more comfortable with private cloud; in essence it was an extension of the traditional in-house datacenter.

Now that public cloud computing is fully mainstream for businesses of all size, some experts forecast that private cloud will fade away. As companies offload a greater percentage of their infrastructure to the public cloud, building and maintaining private cloud is seen as less desirable. On the other hand, the private cloud sector remains strong. At the least, businesses need to hold some data in-house for compliance purposes, so it s likely that the private cloud will always have a place.

While the private cloud market isn’t as large as the market for public cloud services, it’s still very substantial. According to Technology Business Research. companies spent $41 billion on private cloud computing in 2014, and that total will likely grow to $69 billion by 2018, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14 percent.

This article looks at some of the private cloud leaders in this rapidly growing market, detailing their product offerings and their various strengths.

    Best Private Cloud Providers

    HPE

By most estimates, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is a key leader in the private cloud market. According to Wikibon, HPE accounted for 7 percent of the true private cloud market in 2015, which put it in a tie for first place. And Synergy Research said that HPE was the biggest provider of private cloud hardware in the second quarter of 2016, comprising more than 20 percent of the market.

HPE’s private cloud offerings span hardware, software and services. Many of its private cloud solutions are sold under the “Helion” brand name, and they include the Helion Cloud Suite software, Helion CloudSystem hardware, Helion Managed Private Cloud and Managed Virtual Private Cloud services, as well as many other products.

    VMware

The Wikibon report said that VMware was tied with HP for first place in the true private cloud market for 2015 with 7 percent of the market. And Forrester named VMware a leader in the private cloud market. VMware says that more than 500,000 enterprises use its technology to power their private clouds.

VMware is, of course, best known for its virtualization software that runs many private cloud environments. It also offers the vRealize Suite Cloud Management Platform, which can manage both private and hybrid clouds. and Cloud Foundation, a software-defined data center platform designed for private clouds.

    Dell

Even before its purchase of EMC, Dell was a leading vendor of servers and other hardware used to build private clouds, and with the merger, the company has cemented its position as a private cloud leader. In Wikibon’s estimation, EMC alone had 6 percent of the true private cloud market in 2015, and Synergy Research estimated that EMC and Dell together accounted for more than 15 percent of the private cloud hardware market in the second quarter of this year, putting them in second place behind HPE.

Dell’s private cloud offerings include virtual private cloud services, cloud management and cloud security software, and a variety of cloud consulting services.

    Oracle

Wikibon placed Oracle in three-way tie for first place in the true private cloud market for 2015. Like HPE and VMware, Oracle captured about 7 percent of the private cloud market. The company’s outspoken executive chairman and CTO, Larry Ellison, recently unveiled Oracle’s bold plans to challenge Amazon Web Services in cloud computing, saying “Amazon’s lead is over. Amazon’s going to have serious competition going forward.”

Oracle’s Private Cloud solutions include its Cloud Platform, applications, infrastructure, lifecycle management tools and integration services. It also offers Managed Cloud Services.

    IBM

In August 2016, Technology Business Research named IBM “number one in private cloud.” According to Wikibon, IBM had 4 percent of the true private cloud market in 2015, and Forrester labeled IBM a leader in private cloud software suites for the first quarter of 2016.

IBM’s private cloud solutions include hardware such as IBM Systems and IBM Storage, hosted private cloud services, IBM Cloud Managed Services, cloud security tools and software like Cloud Manager and Cloud Orchestrator. It also has cloud solutions and services for its System z mainframe platform.

    Microsoft

Synergy Research Group’s report on cloud market leaders for the second quarter of 2016 placed Microsoft number one for private cloud software, comprising more than 40 percent of the market.

Many private clouds run on Microsoft’s Windows Server operating system and its Hyper-V virtualization technology, which is integrated into Windows Server. The company is pursuing a hybrid cloud strategy, which encourages enterprises to integrate private clouds in their own data centers with the company’s Azure public cloud computing service. To that end, it offers Microsoft Azure Stack, which allows companies to replicate the Azure service in their own data centers.

    Cisco

Synergy Research Group reported that Cisco was the third largest provider of private cloud hardware in the third quarter of this year, and Wikibon said that the company had 3 percent of the true private cloud market in 2015. In its Forrester Wave for Private Cloud Software Suites in the first quarter of 2016, Forrester named Cisco a “strong performer.”

While best known for its networking hardware and solutions, Cisco also offers a variety of cloud software for analytics, infrastructure automation, cloud management and orchestration, development and cloud security. Those offerings include its Cisco ONE Enterprise Cloud Suite, Cisco CloudCenter and the Metapod, a production-ready cloud stack that Cisco deploys and operates in enterprise data centers.

    NetApp

Unlike the rest of the vendors in this slideshow, NetApp is primarily a storage vendor. Still, the Wikibon true private cloud report puts NetApp sixth in the private cloud market with a 4 percent share.

NetApp’s private cloud storage offerings include NetApp Private Storage (NPS), the AltaVault Cloud-Integrated Storage backup solution that can run on public or private clouds, and StorageGRID Webscale Object Storage, which also runs in public or private clouds. It also offers NetApp Private Storage for Cloud and FlexPod converged solutions, which combine hardware from NetApp and Cisco and can be used in private cloud environments.

    Red Hat

Named a “leader” in the Forrester Wave analysis of private cloud software suites, Red Hat offers a variety of private cloud solutions based on open source software. Like Microsoft, it is emphasizing a hybrid approach, encouraging customers to deploy private cloud resources that make it easy to integrate with Red Hat’s public cloud services.

Red Hat’s private cloud offerings include the Red Hat Cloud Suite management and development platform, Cloud Infrastructure software, CloudForms cloud and container management software, Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat OpenStack Platform and Red Hat Gluster Storage. The company also offers a variety of services to help customers deploy and manage private and hybrid clouds.

    Amazon Web Services

The undisputed leader in public cloud computing, Amazon Web Services (AWS) doesn’t have as broad a private cloud offering as most of the other vendors on this list. It does, however, offer a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) service that runs on its public cloud infrastructure. VPC allows organizations to isolate their cloud instances from those of other organizations in order to meet security and compliance needs. VPC also gives administrators greater control over the cloud environment, and it provides the option to create a Hardware Virtual Private Network (VPN) to connect enterprise datacenters with AWS.

2017 Top 10 Windows Virtual Private Servers Companies

    Windows Virtual Private Servers

VPS or Virtual Private server is used to get multiple servers out of a single physical server. This is done by logically dividing the physical server into many virtual servers. All the virtual servers so formed are independent and thus have dedicated resources with them. This will help them to work independent of one another. The performance of one server will never influence or degrade the performance of another. Thus the virtual servers help to get multiple servers at a cheaper rate. Hence they are widely used in the development of web site.

When VPS is used in web site development and hosting, each client will get a server to work on. This never requires the presence of too many physical servers. So the business of web site hosting becomes an easier job and the profit earned with little expense. The hosting can be performed on any architecture like main frame, Windows or Linux. The virtual private server you need will depend on the purpose of the websites being hosted.

Do I Need a Windows Virtual Private Server?

When looking for virtual private server providers, you may notice that some hosts offer both Linux virtual private servers and Windows virtual private servers. This is because of the difference in the features they provide. Some websites may require Windows to use Windows-based technologies that Linux cannot provide. Likewise, other websites may only need Linux virtual private servers to run PHP, MySQL, and Apache.

There are several instances where you can never go for a Linux virtual private server and are bound to use a Windows virtual private server. If you are using .Net technology using ASP.net then you can find that it is not supported in Linux. If your web site is designed using Microsoft .Net technology then there is no compromise in the architecture and you will be forced to go for Windows. Even if you relax your need and prefer to go for ASP without .Net, there is no option in a Linux virtual private server and you will have to choose Windows for your virtual private server needs.

If your web site has an MS Access database, Linux will not work for your website as MS Access is intended and designed to work with Microsoft. With a Linux virtual private server. you will have no option to work with Access databases. Another restriction is in the use of MS SQL. MS SQL is also designed specifically for Microsoft Windows. Linux provides various enterprise databases but those users who want to go for MS SQL will have to choose a Windows virtual private server. Lastly, Microsoft SharePoint services can be used only in Windows.

But when the cost of virtual private server hosting is all that matters, it is always good to use Linux virtual private servers. Enterprise web sites will be more effectively executed in Linux. Most busy web sites are created and run on the Linux operating system.

Because of the user friendliness that Windows provide, most users who are unskilled in the hosting service will go for Windows as their platform for VPS hosting. The Microsoft features are so advanced that even a novice user can host a web site. However, the typical increased cost of Windows virtual private servers is usually the reason many hosting customers look for cheaper alternatives.

We hope the above better explains Windows virtual private servers to you. If you think Windows virtual private servers is right for you, please look above for our most recent Windows virtual private servers real user VPS reviews. Commonsense Corporate Governance Principles, corporate governance for private companies.#Corporate #governance #for #private #companies

    #

    corporate governance for private companies

    Corporate governance for private companies

The health of America’s public corporations and financial markets — and public trust in both — is critical to economic growth and a better financial future for American workers, retirees and investors.

Millions of American families depend on these companies for work — our 5,000 public companies account for a third of the nation’s private sector jobs. And these same families and millions more also rely on public companies to help improve their financial future — they are heavily invested in these companies through mutual funds, 401(k) and pension plans, college savings plans and other accounts to buy a home, send their children to college and save for retirement.

Our future depends on these companies being managed effectively for long-term prosperity, which is why the governance of American companies is so important to every American. Corporate governance in recent years has often been an area of intense debate among investors, corporate leaders and other stakeholders. Yet, too often, that debate has generated more heat than light.

We represent some of America’s largest corporations, as well as investment managers, that, as fiduciaries, represent millions of individual savers and pension beneficiaries. We include corporate CEOs, the head of the Canadian public pension fund and an activist investor, and the heads of a number of institutional investors who manage money on behalf of a broad range of Americans.

This diverse group certainly holds varied opinions on corporate governance. But we share the view that constructive dialogue requires finding common ground — a starting point to foster the economic growth that benefits shareholders, employees and the economy as a whole. To that end, we have worked to find commonsense principles. We offer these principles, which can be found at www.governanceprinciples.org, in the hope that they will promote further conversation on corporate governance. These principles include the following, among others:

    ■ Truly independent corporate boards are vital to effective governance, so no board should be beholden to the CEO or management. Every board should meet regularly without the CEO present, and every board should have active and direct engagement with executives below the CEO level;

    ■ Diverse boards make better decisions, so every board should have members with complementary and diverse skills, backgrounds and experiences. It’s also important to balance wisdom and judgment that accompany experience and tenure with the need for fresh thinking and perspectives of new board members;

    ■ Every board needs a strong leader who is independent of management. The board’s independent directors usually are in the best position to evaluate whether the roles of chairman and CEO should be separate or combined; and if the board decides on a combined role, it is essential that the board have a strong lead independent director with clearly defined authorities and responsibilities;

    ■ Our financial markets have become too obsessed with quarterly earnings forecasts. Companies should not feel obligated to provide earnings guidance — and should do so only if they believe that providing such guidance is beneficial to shareholders;

    ■ A common accounting standard is critical for corporate transparency, so while companies may use non-Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) to explain and clarify their results, they never should do so in such a way as to obscure GAAP-reported results; and in particular, since stock- or options-based compensation is plainly a cost of doing business, it always should be reflected in non-GAAP measurements of earnings; and

    ■ Effective governance requires constructive engagement between a company and its shareholders. So the company’s institutional investors making decisions on proxy issues important to long-term value creation should have access to the company, its management and, in some circumstances, the board; similarly, a company, its management and board should have access to institutional investors’ ultimate decision makers on those issues.

These recommendations are not meant to be absolute. We know that there is significant variation among our public companies and that their approach to corporate governance will inevitably (and appropriately) reflect those differences. But we do hope our effort will be the beginning of a continuing dialogue that will benefit millions of Americans by promoting trust in our nation’s public companies.

We encourage others to join in that dialogue. Our country, our economy and the future of our citizens depend on getting corporate governance right.

    private cloud project

    Related Terms

Companies initiate private cloud projects to enable their IT infrastructure to become more capable of quickly adapting to continually evolving business needs and requirements. Private cloud projects can also be connected to public clouds to create hybrid clouds .

Unlike a public cloud, a private cloud project remains within the corporate firewall and under the control on the company s IT department. As a result, a private cloud provides more control over the company s data, and it ensures security — albeit with greater potential risk for data loss due to natural disaster.

Launching a private cloud project involves analyzing the need for a private cloud, formulating a plan for how to create a private cloud, developing cloud policies for access and security, deploying and testing the private cloud infrastructure, and training employees and partners on the cloud computing project.

    Private Cloud Project Strategy

To create a private cloud project strategy, a company will first need to identify which of its business practices can be made more efficient than before, as well as which repetitive manual tasks can be automated via the successful launch of a cloud computing project.

By creating a private cloud strategy, the resulting cloud will be able to deliver automatic, scalable server virtualization, providing the benefits of automated provision of resources and the optimal use of hardware within the IT infrastructure.

    Building a Private Cloud

With the idea of building a private cloud a daunting proposition for many companies, the best advice for how to build a private cloud is to start small and then continue to grow the cloud computing project over time.

In terms of specifics for how to set up a private cloud, a company needs to:

    • Research the need and benefits for building a private cloud, particularly in respect to selecting a public or hybrid cloud instead of a private cloud
    • Analyze and ensure the proper processes and policies are in place to successfully build a secure private cloud
    • Research and acquire the private cloud infrastructure and cloud-enabling software that will be used, such as OpenStack. CloudStack. Eucalyptus. etc.
    • Ensure the hypervisor (s) that will manage the virtual machines and virtualized storage are available or can be purchased and installed
    • Develop and test the private cloud project in a non mission-critical environment
    • Train IT staff on how to manage the private cloud and employees and partners on how to access and use the cloud

    Private Party Auto Loans Online

    January 27, 2012

Private party auto loans are easy to apply for and are often surprisingly affordable for many borrowers. In many cases, it is possible to apply for a loan online and have preliminary loan approval within a matter of hours, and final loan approval within 24 to 48 hours of applying.

    What Are Private Party Loans?

Private party loans are usually auto purchase loans that are funded by lenders outside of a dealership loan finance company. Lenders for private party loans include banks, credit unions and other lending agencies and organizations. Loans may be for both used and new car purchases and include loans for cars being sold by both car dealerships – franchise and otherwise – and private individuals.

    Loan Requirements

Usually private party loans are readily available for most people, even those with less-than-perfect credit. On average, lenders require a minimum credit score ranging between 620 and 700 and very often require income, employment and residency documentation to support application statements.

In many cases, lenders are looking for applicants with at least one year of employment history and six months to a year of residency at their current address. Additionally, lenders require that any bankruptcies be at least two years in the past and that the applicant demonstrate good credit history since the bankruptcy. Additionally, lenders usually require that a copy of the bankruptcy discharge be submitted with a loan application.

    Loan Sources

Private party loans can certainly be found with brick and mortar banks and credit unions. But by far, the most popular sources for this type of car purchase loan are Internet lenders. Many traditional banks and credit unions provide the option for borrowers to apply online through their corporate website for a private party loan and applicants are usually delighted to discover that preliminary approval is offered within minutes of applying for a loan. Bank of America, Wells Faro and Chase all offer auto purchase loan applications through their online corporate websites.

Another online source for car loans is to find a loan broker that specializes in auto loans. There are many of these types of websites available. Many of them offer the advantage of collecting basic application information that is transmitted to multiple lenders who then contact the applicant regarding potential auto purchase loans. For individuals who want to have several different options for comparison, this can be an excellent way to shop with a minimum of effort. Once the information is submitted to the website, offers begin to come in via email within 24 to 48 hours. Preliminary offers usually include the loan term, interest rates and loan requirements. Some popular online sources include www.AutoLoanSolutions.com and www.MyCreditTree.com.

If you are looking for an accommodating and popular way to apply for a private party auto loan, you can do so through the Internet. Many banks and credit unions offer Internet applications. Other online sources include auto lenders available through online loan brokers.

Is Getting an Online Auto Loan Approval within 24 Hours a Red Flag for a Scam?

Getting an online auto loan approval within 24 hours is not necessarily a scam, but you will probably be dealing with a sub-prime loan company. In many cases, these types of online loans are with lenders that specialize in sub-prime loans. A sub-prime loan will have a higher interest rate and tighter terms. It is important to read all documentation in regards to the loan. Thoroughly check out any company you are thinking about working with. When looking for a car loan it is a good idea to start with your bank or other major financial institutions. Loans from banks and credit unions will normally carry the best rates and are considered the safest types of loans. If you are buying the car from a dealer, they should be able to facilitate your loan as well.

Are Private Car Loans the Easiest to Get When You Have Bad Credit?

Private car loans are usually not any easier to get with bad credit than dealership loans. Both private lenders and dealerships are set up to deal with customers that have less than stellar credit. If you have bad credit, you will be paying a higher interest rate regardless of where you get the loan. In many cases it can be a bit easier to deal with a private lender. Banks and credit unions often have entire departments that are devoted to lending to credit challenged customers. The most important thing to do is shop around. Get as many loan quotes as possible. Compare the rates as well as the terms of the loan and decide which is the best for your situation.

Private Party Auto Loans With Bad Credit

    April 12, 2013

Private party auto loans are one option for auto purchase financing. Private party loans often require thorough documentation, but may be a more available and reasonable option for individuals with less-than-perfect credit history.

    CarsDirect Financing

CarsDirect helps more credit-challenged customers find car loans than any other website in the country. The company works with a network of dealers who specialize in car loan financing. The dealer has access to a number of financial institutions and will shop around to find you the best deal. Just fill out a simple application and you will be on your way to receiving a car loan.

What Is a Private Party Car Loan?

A private party auto loan is a used car loan that allows you to finance a vehicle through a private party or individual in place of a dealership. There are many advantages to opting for a private party loan, and depending on your circumstances it could save you a lot of money.

    Private Party Auto Loan Advantages

Going with a private party car loan opens up several options to you as a consumer. There are a number of banks, credit unions and financial institutions with varying car loan rates all competing to service you. The Internet is a great resource to compare rates from different companies, and there are online brokers that will connect you directly with an auto loan lender to give you a quote within minutes.

If you have bad credit then a private party loan is probably your best bet. Because you can pick which loans to apply for, you can choose only loans that are accepting of people with a bad credit rating. It’s important to realize that getting turned down on a loan can actually lower your credit score. You will also be able to find private party loans that do not require a down-payment, however if possible it’s recommended to pay at least a little up front to lower your monthly bill. Private party loans typically have shorter payback periods resulting in higher interest rates. However, don’t be put off by this because you can actually end up paying more on a loan with a longer payback period even if it has a lower interest rate. Also, with a shorter payback period It is more likely that your car will still be worth something when you are done paying off your loan.

Private party auto loans can also give you an advantage when negotiating with the person selling the car. Used car salesmen working at dealerships are trying to sell several cars to multiple people on a daily basis. This means that their knowledge of a car in question can only run so deep. With a private party loan you are typically dealing with the previous owner of the car so you should be able to get better information about the vehicle’s history and any problems you should be aware of before you buy it. Another advantage in the negotiation process with private party loans is that you have to be approved before you make an offer for a car, and therefore you already know your spending limit. This allows you to take a hard stand with people when negotiating the price you can afford to pay, whereas a dealer may try to persuade you to borrow more through their financial services.

    Private Party Auto Loan Disadvantages

There are several disadvantages to this kind of car purchase loan.

    Loan Term

One of the disadvantages of private party loans is the length of the loan term. For auto purchase loans, the loan term length can be as long as six years. However, private party loans often are for a substantially shorter length of time. Usually, the a private party loan is offered for a maximum of four years or 48 months and very often private party loans are only offered for 36 months. For a borrower who is looking for a much longer period to finance the purchase of their car – and lower their monthly payments as a result – a private party loan can have serious disadvantages.

The ultimate result of a shorter loan term is that you are paying the same principal for the purchase of the car, but you are paying a higher amount of interest. This results in higher monthly payments, overall when compared to auto loans that are financed through a dealership finance company.

    Interest Rates

Another disadvantage of private party loans are the standard interest rates charged for these kinds of auto purchases. Typically, car loans obtained from the dealership may have largely reduced interest rates and may even be offered at zero interest if certain restrictions and requirements are met at the time of purchase. However, it is also possible to comparison shop for favorable interest rates if a borrower is able to dedicate enough time to this task.

    Dealer Incentives

One of the features that many dealerships have been advertising of late are dealer incentives that provide for purchase security should a borrower lose their job or income. However, in order to take advantage of these incentives, a borrower must make their purchase finance arrangements through the dealer financing company. By using private party loans, borrowers eliminate their ability to take advantage of these incentives, which could be significant if they find themselves without a job and unable to meet their financial obligations as a result.

    Negotiating Disadvantage

The entire process of purchasing a car usually involves a great degree of negotiation, including not just the purchase price, but also the interest rate and the monthly payments. In most cases private party loans require pre-approval before the actual purchase of a car. This greatly reduces the ability of a borrower to negotiate since they are already locked into their loan obligation when they walk into the dealership.

This can also be somewhat of a disadvantage even if purchasing a car from a private party, since pre-approval is usually needed before even approaching a seller. Here again, borrowers may find themselves locked into a loan that is larger than their actual needs and regret it every time they make their monthly payment.

While private party auto loans can be an attractive option in dealing with a finance department of a dealership, they offer specific and significant disadvantages when it comes to the length of the loan, interest rates and ability to negotiate those rates and monthly payments.

How to Research Private Party Auto Loans

If you are car shopping and looking to purchase a used car from someone other than a car dealer, you will probably need to research some private party car loans. Use the following steps when conducting your research.

    1. Find lenders. Since the only difference between a private party auto loan and a traditional car loan is the fact that no dealer is involved, regular lenders will likely be able to supply you with a loan. The only lenders which are now out of the picture are captive finance companies, meaning that banks are still viable loan sources. Other options when looking for a private party loan are local credit unions. You may find them online or in a phonebook.
    2. Submit loan applications. The lenders you find will be able to guide you through the loan approval process. You should be 18 years of age or older; have proof of income of at least $1,800 a month; have proof of residence; not be bankrupt; and have a social security number. More may be required by certain lenders and they will tell you if this is so.
    3. Compare approvals. After submitting applications and getting approvals, you may compare them to find the best deals. Details to compare are loan rates, additional fees and any special options which you feel will be beneficial.
    4. See what kind of interest rates you can get

Researching private party auto loans can help you purchase a used car and save money on the loan for the best deal possible.

    Buying From a Private Party

Car Buying, Selling Tips and Advice

There are a wealth of good-quality, affordable used cars on the market today and many of them are sold by private parties consumers looking to sell their vehicles directly to other consumers. With some time and energy and a little bit of research, you can potentially net yourself a great used car deal while getting a reliable, economical and nearly new vehicle in the process.

If you re in the market to purchase a pre-owned vehicle from a private party, the information contained in this section is designed to help eliminate some of the uncertainties associated with the used car shopping process.

Once you ve found a prospective used car contender one that looks and sounds good in the ad and one you could definitely envision yourself owning and driving, now its time to figure out if the sellers asking price is fair.

The range of values listed on the NADAguides.com vehicle value report is directly related to the year of the car you re interested in purchasing. Late model used vehicles are provided with two values average trade-in and average retail. Older used cars are provided with three values low, average and high retail.

When you re buying a used car from a dealer, you should research the vehicles retail value. This is the typical asking price of a vehicle sold on a dealer lot or the price a private party usually asks for the car on the open market.

Following is a complete description of what each valuation criteria means taken directly from the NADAguides.com used car-pricing report.

Low Retail Value: A low retail vehicle may have extensively visible wear and tear. The body may have dents and other blemishes. The buyer can expect to invest in bodywork and/or mechanical work. It is likely that the seats and carpets will have visible wear. The vehicle should be able to pass local inspection standards and be in safe running condition. Low retail vehicles usually are not found on dealer lots.

Average Retail: An average retail vehicle should be clean and without glaring defects. Tires and glass should be in good condition. The paint should match and have a good finish. The interior should have wear in relation to the age of the vehicle. Carpet and seat upholstery should be clean, and all power options should work. The mileage should be within the acceptable range for the model year. An Average Retail vehicle on a dealer lot may include a limited warranty or guarantee, and possibly a current safety and/or emission inspection (where applicable).

Note: Vehicles with low mileage that are in exceptionally good condition and/or include a manufacturer certification can be worth a significantly higher value than the Average Retail price shown.

The next step is to determine the marketability of that vehicle in essence, what other people are currently paying for similar cars with similar features in your local marketplace.

It s important for you to know how significantly a vehicles marketability affects its value. Think about it a sleek sports car with low-profile racing tires is probably worth less money in a snowy climate like Minnesota than in a sunny climate like California. Further, certain vehicles are more desirable than others, depending on the city, county or state in which you live. Maybe a majority of local buyers prefer trucks and SUVs to cars maybe more prefer four-wheel- or front wheel drive to rear-wheel drive and perhaps even more want a car thats been modified, with aftermarket rims and a wheel drive to rear-wheel drive and perhaps even more want a car thats been modified, with aftermarket rims and a tricked-out sound system. At the end of the day, the market in which you live, the desirability of the vehicle you own and buyers mindsets ultimately determine a vehicles monetary value.

In order to determine the marketability of the car you want to buy, you need to do a little homework. A great place to start is with resources like AutoTrader.com. Here, you can research prices of similar make, model and year vehicles, in the same (or similar) condition as the car you re interested in purchasing, and with comparable mileage. Additionally, you can research the marketability of similar vehicles in your local market area a good indication of local car-buyer mentality.

Whats more, you can review local newspaper classifieds, community bulletin boards and local flyers and circulars that usually run car ads on a regular basis. By combining the NADAguides.com book value for your car with your local market research, you are finally getting closer to a realistic market value for your own used car.

Finally, don t forget to assess the specific features about the vehicle that, in essence, make it more desirable to potential buyers like yourself hence, potentially increasing its overall value. Is the car a hot-selling item? Does it have a sunroof, a comprehensive sound system, shiny aftermarket rims, leather seats, customized upholstery or any other unique characteristics that you would find appealing and would ultimately be willing to pay more for? NADAguides.com has written several articles regarding add-ons and their potential to increase a vehicles value, including Do Add-ons add Value? published by various newspapers around the country.

Remember that while certain aftermarket accessories and vehicle customizations can certainly increase a cars value, they might also deter certain prospective buyers, ultimately decreasing its value in the process. Its up to you to determine what youd be willing to pay for the added features the vehicle possesses and assess a value accordingly.

Before you enter into the used car buying process, you need to determine what you can afford to spend.

If you plan to finance the car, you need to calculate what you can afford on a monthly basis (in the form of a monthly car payment) after taking into consideration all other personal monthly expenditures (i.e. mortgage, rent, utilities, etc.).

Once you ve determined your monthly car payment allowance, now its time to figure out how much cash you can expend in the form of a down payment. Again, this will depend on your current financial status.

Finally, you need to determine an affordable used car purchase price. If you ve already calculated what you can spend for a monthly car payment as well as any down payments applicable towards the purchase of the car, you ve basically already determined what purchase price you can afford.

If you plan on financing the vehicle, be sure to make loan arrangements ahead of time this way, you ll know what loan amount and terms you qualify for. Additionally, it will demonstrate to the seller you re a qualified, serious buyer.

It s important to know ahead of time if the used car you re buying is covered under some type of warranty. In certain situations, the car may be covered under a manufacturers certification program. Other times, it may be covered by an independent extended warranty of some kind.

Warranty programs are important because they cover the cost of specific major repairs should something happen to the vehicle mechanically. Whats more, certified cars (ones that carry manufacturer warranties) go through a rigorous inspection process and are typically in better condition with less mileage than standard used cars that don t carry a manufacturer-backed guarantee.

Vehicles covered under a manufacturers warranty (referred to as CPO, or certified pre-owned cars) typically cost more than standard used cars. In some situations, a CPO car may cost as little as $400 higher to as much as $2,800 higher depending on the make and model.

The seller may have already factored the cost of the warranty into the cars asking price. Additionally, the certification information may have been provided in the sellers initial used car advertisement. If you re unsure whether a guarantee exists for the vehicle you wish to buy, be sure to ask the seller ahead of time. It could very well impact the value of the car as well as the sellers willingness to negotiate price.

For more information about manufacturer-backed warranties, check out our CPO Center, an information hub designed to teach you almost everything you d ever want to know about certified pre-owned cars, including warranty programs, the CPO inspection process, as well as an overview of various certified pre-owned programs available to consumers.

Buying a Cheap DVLA Car Number plate or Cherished DVLA Registration

Below are a list of frequently asked questions when buying a DVLA Car Registration Number. If your query is not answered here, please call our sales team on 0116 232 7950 .

If the registration mark is owned by R4V Number Plates, a from a VAT registered supplier, VAT must be added. Registrations that are not subject to VAT are being sold on a commission basis.

Yes. You may pay by Cheque, Money Transfer or Bankers Draft. For further details please call us on 0116 232 7950.

Under Consumer Protection Regulations, if you do not proceed with the transfer of the registration mark after paying the part/full payment, then no part of this payment is refundable since the service period commences immediately.Registration prices are also subject to considerable price fluctuation and many have date expiry which affects their pricing. Ordered registrations cannot be refunded or exchanged, and cancellations cannot be accepted.

When purchasing registration marks online you will have the option of ordering a set of acrylic car number plates with your registration number, at additional cost. Acrylic number plates may be also ordered even if you have not bought the actual registration number from us.

No. You are merely acquiring the right to transfer the registration number to a vehicle.

Unless you want to pay the DVLA Department of Transport fee and retain it, the registration is automatically made void. You simply remove and dispose/store the old number plates and fit the new ones at the time we advise. In most cases, in the future when you change your purchased plate to a new car, your old vehicle will receive its old mark from DVLA on a non-transferable basis. Further information on retaining a registration can be obtained by calling us on 0116 232 7950.

You may request the old number to be re-assigned to your vehicle only if the windows of the vehicle are etched with the mark. The DVLA Vehicle Registration Office may call your vehicle for inspection to verify your claim.

Yes. Although you cannot transfer or retain a non-transferable number, the vehicle can receive a new registration number providing the non-transferable number is not a “Q” mark and providing the vehicle meets the normal conditions of the Sales, Transfer and Retention schemes.

If you are buying a car registration mark that has previously never been issued or assigned to a vehicle the transfer time is usually between 3 and 14 days. The reason for the speed in which marks of this nature may be transferred is due to the fact that there is no donor vehicle involved which involves additional processing or potential to be inspected by the Department Of Transport. Theses marks are inevitably held on V750V778 DVLA retention forms containing R4V Number Plates as the grantee along with our client as the nominee thus minimising the amount of administration required. We also now can assign many marks electronically in real time but this is dependant upon the taxation history and records of the receiving vehicle.

Where a registration has been previously assigned to another vehicle there may be a need to arrange an inspection of the donor vehicle prior to completing the transfer. In order to make a vehicle ready for transfer the donor vehicle must also be taxed and hold a current MOT certificate, these documents may take a few weeks to acquire from the donor as well as contractual exchanges that take place.

In addition to the time required to obtain donor documents the governing bodies also require ample time to process transfer applications. The average transfer time requested by the governing bodies is two to three weeks, but may vary from each transfer. We DO NOT circumvent the rules and thus ensure accurate processing. Call us for details.

Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), Vehicle Registration Office, Department Of Transport and Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre respectively.

Personalised car registration numbers, and those that are not, are a method of law enforcement and as such the integrity and clarity of the transfer system must be upheld by the DVLA.

Not Usually. However, if for example there was a change of construction of the vehicle the authorities may then want to inspect it or if it has previously registered as accident damaged then it be so. You would be notified if this was necessary.

You cannot make a vehicle look newer than it actually is by transferring a younger year letter. For example, you cannot put a ‘S’ prefix DVLA registration on a ‘R’ prefix vehicle since it would make the vehicle appear younger. You could however put any prefix registration from ‘A’ – ‘R’ on a ‘R’ prefix vehicle.

The average time scale for a registration transfer is 28 working days. We ensure that every transfer is expedited as quickly as possible. However, it should be noted that the transfer cannot be started until we receive the required documents. Please note that whilst we take all reasonable care of your documents, we cannot accept any responsibility for their safety once passed into the hands of the Department of Transport.

Simply send the appropriate fee, your insurance certificate and/or cover note and the tax application to us, ensuring that you state the old registration number on the application form. In the case of a new MOT, again you must ensure that the garage MOT the vehicle under the old registration and send the certificate to us immediately, with a covering note informing us of the registration mark you are purchasing. R4V Number Plates will have the MOT amended accordingly as and when it is appropriate during the transfer procedure.

Transfers are currntly not possible to or from “Q” registered vehicles.

There are no time restrictions and transferring a registration mark is a simple procedure which may be applied for yourself. Please note that any car registration purchased from R4V Number Plates must not be offered for re-sale until our transaction with you has been finalised.

Yes. This is called a double transfer. You will need to immediately supply us with the documents of the third vehicle involved and an extra 80 cheque payable to the Department of Transport. This creates more work for us and a small extra charge. If no third vehicle is available then the mark can normally be retained on a Department of Transport retention certificate in accordance with the governing Regulations.

Yes, this does not normally create a problem, however due to the fact that the transfer time is uncertain it may be more appropriate to have a year related number plate assigned by the garage supplying the vehicle. By opting for this solution you shall have full use of the vehicle whilst the transfer is taking place.

No. Every new vehicle is supplied with an appropriate year letter free of charge by the garage. The only charge made by the garage is for the physical plates.

Yes, all motorcycles (including mopeds) can participate freely provided the normal requirements of the DVLA cherished number plate transfer facility are met.

    Reliable, Free Web Hosting

    Types of Website Hosting

If you’re interested in creating an online presence for yourself or your business, the best way to do it is to build a website. Websites are, most basically, collections of files, so each one requires a place to store its files and a way to make those files accessible to other people connected to the internet. A web server, through web hosting, performs these critical functions. While every site needs hosting, there are a number of different ways that website hosting can be done. Which type of hosting will work best for your site depends on its size and complexity, as well as the resources and technical expertise at your disposal. To help you figure out the best hosting match for you, we’ll take you through some of the most popular website hosting options below.

    Shared Website Hosting

Shared hosting, also called virtual hosting, is the hosting of multiple websites on the same web server. With shared hosting, a web hosting company provides the user storage space and makes the website’s files accessible to others via the internet. The web host also maintains the server and provides technical support for it. For those who are not technically inclined or who do not have access to their own technical support staff, having a web host to manage these matters can make shared hosting can make a great fit.

Perhaps the greatest advantage of shared hosting is that its efficient use of resources means that it costs much less than most other types of website hosting. Shared web hosting also means that users can benefit from the expertise of the web hosting company providing the servers; a web hosting company like Freeservers that specializes in shared hosting has the experience and resources to provide exceptional reliability and technical support for your site. The specialized resources of a shared hosting company are well positioned to keep your site running properly and serving quickly at all times.

While shared hosting is an appropriate choice for many users, it’s not right for everyone. Those with extensive technical know-how who want complete control over their servers and websites are better served by another hosting option. Additionally, if your site is large and extremely active, you may need more server resources than shared hosting provides.

    Dedicated Website Hosting

With dedicated web hosting, there is a web server devoted entirely to your site. You may purchase your own server or pay for access to a server owned by someone else. If you own your own server and have it stored in someone else’s facility, you are using what is known as colocation hosting. In any type of dedicated hosting, because the server is exclusively dedicated to your site, you will have full control over its use and administration. This allows you to manage all aspects of your site. If your intent is to create a large site for a company with plenty of technical and financial resources, dedicated hosting might be right for you. If your site will demand a lot of server space and bandwidth, too, you may need a dedicated server to host it.

For individuals and small or midsized companies, however, there are a number of aspects of dedicated hosting that make it a less desirable option. Setting up or leasing and maintaining your own web server requires a great deal of technical expertise as well as a significant financial investment. Because the web server you use will determine whether your site is reliably online and available to visitors, you need to be certain that your server is stable, reliable, well maintained, and able to handle heavy visitor traffic; maintaining this level of performance is not always easy.

    Virtual Private Server Website Hosting

This type of hosting is something of a cross between dedicated hosting and shared hosting. Virtual private server hosting involves a dedicated server being shared by multiple users. The users share the resources of the server, but the server space is strictly divided into allocated percentages so that each user’s percentage of the server is dedicated only to that user’s website. This hosting arrangement gives a user some of the control of a dedicated server without the large-scale investment in a server that may have more space than necessary. Virtual private server hosting does provide limited resources, however, and even if your site experiences a temporary traffic spike or another unusual demand, there will not be extra resources flexibly available to meet the need. The somewhat complicated arrangements of virtual private server hosting can also be a drawback to this hosting option, as service providers can create confusing service agreements that include unexpected limitations for their users.

    Shared Website Hosting with Freeservers

Now that you’ve learned about your hosting options, perhaps you’ve decided that shared hosting is right for your website. When you’re ready to create your shared hosting account, start by comparing the web hosting packages Freeservers offers. We provide a variety of packages, from free web hosting to feature-rich business hosting packages, so you’re sure to find one that fits your needs. With Freeservers, you’ll receive top-notch hosting services and loads of useful features, all with the exceptional reliability, stability, and customer support that you need to make your website a success.

    What is virtual private network (VPN)? Definition from #how #to #create #virtual #private #network

    #

    virtual private network (VPN)

A virtual private network (VPN) is a technology that creates a safe and encrypted connection over a less secure network, such as the internet. VPN technology was developed as a way to allow remote users and branch offices to securely access corporate applications and other resources. To ensure safety, data travels through secure tunnels and VPN users must use authentication methods — including passwords, tokens and other unique identification methods — to gain access to the VPN.

Pros and cons of using a VPN

The benefit of using a secure VPN is it ensures the appropriate level of security to the connected systems when the underlying network infrastructure alone cannot provide it. The justification for using VPN access instead of a private network usually boils down to cost and feasibility: It is either not feasible to have a private network — e.g. for a traveling sales rep — or it is too costly to do so.

VPN performance can be affected by a variety of factors, among them the speed of users’ internet connections, the types of protocols an internet service provider may use and the type of encryption the VPN uses. Performance can also be affected by poor quality of service and conditions that are outside the control of IT.

    VPN protocols

There are several different protocols used to secure and encrypt users and corporate data:

    IP security (IPsec)
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS)
    Point-To-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP)
    Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP)
    OpenVPN

The most common types of VPNs are remote-access VPNs and site-to-site VPNs.

    Remote-access VPN

A remote-access VPN uses a public telecommunication infrastructure like the internet to provide remote users secure access to their organization’s network. This is especially important when employees are using a public Wi-Fi hotspot or other avenues to use the internet and connect into their corporate network. A VPN client on the remote user’s computer or mobile device connects to a VPN gateway on the organization’s network. The gateway typically requires the device to authenticate its identity. Then, it creates a network link back to the device that allows it to reach internal network resources — e.g. file servers, printers and intranets — as though it was on that network locally.

A remote-access VPN usually relies on either IPsec or Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to secure the connection, although SSL VPNs are often focused on supplying secure access to a single application, rather than to the entire internal network. Some VPNs provide Layer 2 access to the target network; these require a tunneling protocol like PPTP or L2TP running across the base IPsec connection.

    Site-to-site VPN

A site-to-site VPN uses a gateway device to connect the entire network in one location to the network in another — usually a small branch connecting to a data center. End-node devices in the remote location do not need VPN clients because the gateway handles the connection. Most site-to-site VPNs connecting over the internet use IPsec. It is also common to use carrier MPLS clouds, rather than the public internet, as the transport for site-to-site VPNs. Here, too, it is possible to have either Layer 3 connectivity (MPLS IP VPN) or Layer 2 (Virtual Private LAN Service. or VPLS) running across the base transport.

VPNs can also be defined between specific computers, typically servers in separate data centers, when security requirements for their exchanges exceed what the enterprise network can deliver. Increasingly, enterprises also use VPN connections in either remote-access mode or site-to-site mode to connect — or connect to — resources in a public infrastructure-as-a-service environment. Newer hybrid-access scenarios put the VPN gateway itself in the cloud, with a secure link from the cloud service provider into the internal network.

    WATER REHABILITATION SPECIALTY PRODUCTS

Jet-Lube has acquired Design Water Technologies – a leading manufacturer of a new generation of chemicals for the Water Well and Pipeline industries.

The Design Water product line addresses the needs of water well rehabilitation for both bacterial and mineral contamination as well as drinking water issues arising from flooded wells from natural disasters and excessive water run-off.

    A new generation of chemicals.

    1. Their engineers have over 40 years of field experience solving water problems in wells, pipelines, and systems.
    2. Their goal is to provide safe, innovative products that solve real problems to the Groundwater Industry.
    3. They are the only company that designs, manufactures, markets, and provides technical service for their own products
STERILENE – Replaces standard chlorine and no premixing with vinegar

Sterilene is 200 times more effective at removing the environment for coliform bacteria in wells and pipelines without premixing and control of pH. No oxidizer labels. and is price competitive with standard chlorine.

A liquid organic, slightly acidic formulation with polymer dispersants. Effectively dissolves blockage in wells, systems, and water tanks due to mineral scale, slime forming bacteria and the oxides created by the decaying bacteria. Also suspends the debris to be pumped from the well or system, as well as protects metal surfaces from corrosion.

A granular acid that is a formulation of organic acids enhanced by chelates, dispersants, and inhibitors. Non corrosive, safe for disposal and highly effective, it is significantly safer than traditional sulfamic acids yet has unique dissolving capabilities.

Like UNICID GRANULAR it is a formulation of organic acids enhanced by chelates, dispersants, and inhibitors in a liquid encapsulation format.

Chlor-“Oust” is a product designed to neutralize or dechlorinate Sterilene when removed from a well or pipeline for proper disposal.
    • dissolves very fast as a fine granule
    • neutralizes 100 ppm chlorine (Sterilene) to zero within 4 minutes of recirculation
    • has easy to understand directions for usage on site
    • even has an easy calculation for maximum product to have on site
    • easy and safe disposal to sanitary sewers or land disposal.

Removes clays from an unconsolidated formation to enhance well yields in new and old wells. Traditional polyphosphate treatments promote bacterial growths. This increases the potential for coliform, slime formers, and iron bacteria in wells and systems.

An extremely concentrated, slightly alkaline liquid with a controlled pH buffer. It is a naturally occurring mineral, readily usable by plant and animal life upon disposal. pH Neutralize will safely neutralize any acidic liquids with a specific dosage calculated by the volume and pH level of the acid being treated, without the danger of wildly varying pH levels.

As much as 90% of mineral or bacterial debris (iron or slime) may be on the inside of the well casing or screen. You can physically remove most of this debris prior to a Unicid chemical treatment by wire brushing the screen only for mineral scale, or brushing from the static level to the bottom of the well for bacterial debris.

    6 Facts About Transpersonal Psychology

I don t remember learning about transpersonal psychology in my clinical psych program. (With all that reading and lack of sleep. it s also possible I just missed that lesson.) So I was intrigued when I recently came across the term, and decided to do some digging.

In the Foreword of The Textbook of Transpersonal Psychiatry and Psychology . writer Ken Wilber defines “transpersonal” as “personal plus.” He explains that transpersonal work integrates both personal psychology and psychiatry but then “adds those deeper or higher aspects of human experience that transcend the ordinary and the average—experiences that are, in other words, ‘transpersonal’ or ‘more than personal,’ personal plus.”

It turns out that transpersonal psychology focuses on the spiritual. Bruce W. Scotton, M.D. one of the editors of the book, describes “spiritual” as “the realm of the human spirit, that part of humanity that is not limited to bodily experience.”

The British Psychological Society also acknowledges the central emphasis on spirituality in transpersonal psychology :

Transpersonal Psychology might loosely be called the psychology of spirituality and of those areas of the human mind which search for higher meanings in life, and which move beyond the limited boundaries of the ego to access an enhanced capacity for wisdom, creativity, unconditional love and compassion. It honors the existence of transpersonal experiences, and is concerned with their meaning for the individual and with their effect upon behavior.

According to the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (which is a private graduate school founded in 1975):

Traditional psychology is interested in a continuum of human experience and behavior ranging from severe dysfunction, mental and emotional illness at one end, to what is generally considered normal , healthy behavior at the other end and various degrees of normal and maladjustment in between. While an exact definition of Transpersonal Psychology is the subject of debate, Transpersonal Psychology is a full spectrum psychology that encompasses all of this and then goes beyond it by adding a serious scholarly interest in the immanent and transcendent dimensions of human experience: exceptional human functioning, experiences, performances and achievements, true genius, the nature and meaning of deep religious and mystical experiences, non-ordinary states of consciousness, and how we might foster the fulfillment of our highest potentials as human beings.

Transpersonal psychology combines a variety of approaches in psychology, including behaviorism, cognitive psychology and humanistic psychology, along with other disciplines, including Eastern and Western philosophy, mysticism, mindfulness and the world’s religions.

Below are six other facts about transpersonal psychology, from the therapist’s role in psychotherapy to transpersonal psychology’s history as a field.

    1. Transpersonal psychology doesn’t have specific tools or methods.

“Transpersonal psychotherapy is rooted in an ideology and a basic humility that operates behind the scenes,” said psychotherapist, author and teacher Jeffrey Sumber. “It is less about a particular tool or methodology and more about an intention that motivates the intervention,” he said.

    2. Relationships in transpersonal psychology are key.

According to Sumber, “Transpersonal Psychology is an approach to understanding the way our minds operate through our relationships with others, resting in the belief that there is something bigger and deeper in the space between which operates upon us.”

The relationship between client and therapist is just as important as the client’s other relationships. “… The space between therapist and client is as sacred and transformative as that space between the client and their issues, their families and friends, etc.,” he said.

And both people change as a result of this relationship. As Sumber writes on his website, “…in order for positive change to occur for the client, it must also occur for the therapist on some level, by and through the bonds of our relationship.”

    3. The therapist isn’t viewed as the expert.

Rather, the therapist is “the facilitator [who] assist[s] the client in uncovering their own truth and their own process,” Sumber said. “The only room for expertise is the therapists ability to reflect the client’s own truth back to them with as little of the therapist’s own baggage as possible,” he added.

    4. Transpersonal psychology doesn t judge others experiences.

Sumber said that transpersonal psychology also is based on the belief that the “client and the therapist both have their own experiences and neither is right, wrong, correct or incorrect, healthy or unhealthy.”

“If a client brings an experience into therapy that makes me uncomfortable, I have the ability to look at my own discomfort and work on it and I can even disclose it to the client if that is appropriate.”

    5. Various well-known psychologists pioneered transpersonal psychology.

According to The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, William James, Carl Jung and Abraham Maslow are just a few of the psychologists that played a role in pioneering transpersonal psychology. (Find out more about each psychologist here .)

In fact, William James was the first to use the term “transpersonal” in a 1905 lecture, according to The Textbook of Transpersonal Psychiatry and Psychology, and he’s referred to as the founder of modern transpersonal psychology and psychiatry. As psychologist Eugene Taylor, Ph.D, writes in the book:

He was the first to use the term transpersonal in an English-language context and the first to articulate a scientific study of consciousness within a framework of evolutionary biology. He experimented with psychoactive substances to observe their effects on his own consciousness and was a pioneer in founding the field that is now called parapsychology. He helped to cultivate modern interest in dissociated states, multiple personality. and theories of the subconscious. He explored the field of comparative religion and was probably the first American psychologist to establish relationships with or to influence a number of Asian meditation teachers. He also pioneered in writing about the psychology of mystical experience.

    6. Transpersonal psychology emerged as a field in the late 1960s.

According to the article “Brief History of Transpersonal Psychology” written by one of transpersonal psychology’s founders, psychiatrist Stanislav Grof, in the International Journal of Transpersonal Studies:

In 1967, a small working group including Abraham Maslow, Anthony Sutich, Stanislav Grof, James Fadiman, Miles Vich, and Sonya Margulies met in Menlo Park, California, with the purpose of creating a new psychology that would honor the entire spectrum of human experience, including various non-ordinary states of consciousness. During these discussions, Maslow and Sutich accepted Grof’s suggestion and named the new discipline “transpersonal psychology.” This term replaced their own original name “transhumanistic,” or “reaching beyond humanistic concerns.” Soon after- wards, they launched the Association of Transpersonal Psychology (ATP), and started the Journal of Transpersonal Psychology. Several years later, in 1975, Robert Frager founded the (California) Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, which has remained at the cutting edge of transpersonal education, research, and therapy for more than three decades. The International Transpersonal Association was launched in 1978 by myself, as its founding president, and Michael Murphy and Richard Price, founders of Esalen Institute.

    Related Questions and Answers

How to Sell Your Used Car to a Private Party or Dealer #chesterfield #auto #parts

    #

    Selling Your Car

    1. The Basics

When selling a car, you generally have two options: sell to a private party or sell to a dealer.

Those who buy a new or used car from a dealer usually trade-in their current vehicle as part of the transaction – mainly because it’s convenient and easy. But this convenience comes at a huge cost.

If you sell to a dealer, you’re getting wholesale value for the vehicle, whereas if you sell to a private party, you’re getting close to retail value. The difference can be several thousand dollars.

It seems like a no-brainer, so why doesn’t everyone sell their vehicle to a private party? Well, because it takes more time and effort – plus some view it as risky to invite strangers over.

Despite these drawbacks, I highly recommend selling your car to a private party – especially if it has over 100,000 miles or been in an accident. You’ll end up saving $100 to $350 per hour spent on the effort.

To help you decide, use the following pricing guides to determine what your car is currently worth.

A relatively new site from the founders of TrueCar. Analyzes over 3 million car listings to show you what your car is worth.

Take these prices with a grain of salt, they’re meant to be ballpark figures.

Geting a Private Party Auto Loan

Private party auto loans are interpersonal loans. They re usually available when purchasing a vehicle from a third party, such as a friend or a neighbor. Though these loans typically follow the same conditions as a normal short-term loan, there are some differences, primarily the absence of a dealer.

Thus, acquiring a loan with bad credit is a potential headache. Fret not; use this guide to help you in your quest.

    Obtain Credit Report

The first step in applying for a blank check auto loan is to get a copy of your credit report. Those with credit scores of at least 620 should be able to get a private party auto loan without much trouble. For those with lower credit report scores, a great way to improve your chances of getting an auto loan is to pay a larger down payment.

    Supplying Additional Information

In addition to knowing your credit score, you ll also need to submit basic documentation of your income, residency, and employment history. Since car loans are paid back in monthly installments, lenders often require a certain minimum requirement in order to meet this obligation. You can prove your income with tax returns, pay stubs, and bank statements. Minimum income requirements vary, but start around $1,500 to $1,800 per month. Pay stubs may meet the employment history requirements. A letter from your employer will also satisfy this need. Many lenders require at least six months of employment preceding the loan. You can provide proof of residency by submitting a copy of your utility or phone bill, a copy of your driver s license, or a copy of the rental contract. Lenders prefer borrowers who have maintained the same residence over at least a year long period.

    Improve Your Score

In addition to following these basic steps, you can also improve your chances of securing an auto loan with bad credit by selecting the least expensive car that meets your needs. On-time payments will also help you improve your credit report rating. Once you ve improved your credit rating, you can consider refinancing your auto loan and securing a lower interest rate. Private party auto loans are a great opportunity for those with a poor credit rating to get the car they need while also working on improving their overall credit rating.

Application for a Private Party Auto Loan

This loan counts as a used car loan, therefore most regular lenders offer them. The first step in this process is to find potential lenders and research them for their options and interest rates. An ideal combination would be low rates of interest with an extended period of time. Like a normal loan, the rates of interest in this loan are associated with your credit history, though they may be a bit higher than the normal dealership loan.

While a normal dealership loan has a payment period of 72 months, a private party auto loan has a period of 48 months. Since the interest rates can be as high as 2 percent above the normal, be sure to pay off the loan as soon as possible.

    Down Payment

Since the period of the loan payoff for a private party loan is considerably lesser than a normal loan, it s recommended that you make a down payment of no less than 20 percent to avoid paying to the bank far more than what the vehicle is worth and to qualify for lower interest rates where available.

When Do You Get a Title?

For privately owned cars, there are sometimes two lenders operating on both sides the buyer s and the seller s lender. If the owner of the car has taken a loan against the car already, the sale requires the seller s lender to complete the procedures before completion. For complicated situations like this, it could take up to two weeks more than normal, which is typically one to two days.

It s important to know the procedures associated with buying a vehicle through a private party auto loan, since it s possible for you to get a good deal on the purchase.

Are you interested in buying a car from a private seller? Rapidcarloans.net can get you lowest possible rates on private party auto loans. Enjoy guaranteed approval by simply submitting the car loan application form on the secured website.

What’s that one dreadful thing when it comes to getting a car? Most Americans will answer “dealing with the dealer”. Yes, it is so true. We have heard stories about dubious dealers who have conned someone or the other in our social circle. But, we still walk down to the dealership lot half-hearted and full of doubts. You may not know but there is one more option of buying cars. Welcome to the world of private party (non–dealer) car purchase where you don’t have to worry about a fraudulent dealer and his deceitful methods.

Most people are unaware of this opportunity and think that private party sales are risky. Once you completely understand person to person car sale, you will know that the reality is absolutely different.

What Is A Private Party Auto Sale?

    Where buyer meets the seller

When you buy or sell your car to an individual without the dealer in picture, it constitutes a private party sale. When you buy a car from an individual, you don’t have to haggle with a dealer. You can meet the seller in person and get all the information from the horse’s mouth.

What Are The Advantages Of Buying A Car From A Private Party?

    1. As mentioned earlier, you get first-hand information from the seller. There is no dealer to fabricate the vehicle information.

    2. No high pressure car-price negotiation.

    3. No dealership commission means lesser price.

How to Make a Perfect Person To Person Car Purchase?

Make sure it is no junk

When you buy a used car, you need to check it properly. You certainly don’t want to end up with a lemon or a clunker. Don’t go for a very old car because most State Lemon Laws don’t cover them. So, while buying a car from an individual seller, follow these important guidelines –

    1. Get the car’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and run a Vehicle History Report. It will let you know if the car was ever salvaged or flooded. The report will be helpful in convincing your lender that the car is not junk.

    2. You must also check the car’s title. Most of the times, it will have a lien on it. If the same is with your car, then ask the seller to arrange a meeting with his lender (seller’s lien holder). Discuss at length the conditions and the duration in which the title will be transferred to you. It is always good to talk this out in advance.

    3. Get the Odometer Disclosure Statement from the seller. It will have the exact number of miles that the vehicle has been driven. Most lenders insist on getting one from the seller.

    4. Ask your trusted mechanic to inspect the car.

How to Get a Private Party Car Loan?

A private party auto lender takes risk in offering auto financing options because there is no additional dealer’s warranty. Also, the vehicle is not a certified one. So, lenders want you to fulfill their criteria.

Here are the requirements of private seller auto loans –

    1. Your age should be at least 18 years old. If you are getting a joint loan, then at least one of the applicants should be 18.

    2. A Valid SSN is mandatory.

    3. Your gross monthly income should at least be $1,800. A recent pay stub or IT returns (if self-employed) can be used as a proof.

    4. Your employment term at the current and the last job should be more than six months.

    5. You must be staying for at least six months at your current residence. Utility bills and rent receipt can be used to prove the term.

    6. No open bankruptcy.

    7. The vehicle should not have been driven for more than 1,00,000 miles nor should be older than eight years.

All these requirements are pretty standard for a car loan and nothing out of the blue. Private party car loans are easy to obtain. There are quick and simple because of no dealership is involved. With several lenders offering private party loan, it is easier to buy a car and fulfill your dream.

Garry Johnson, co-founder of the 40-year-old Burson Auto Parts, admits to mixed feelings about the sale of his automotive parts distribution and accessories repair company to private equity firm Quadrant for $148 million.

His reason for selling? “It was part age, and partly time for somebody young with more energy and IT savvy to run the business.”

“I have mixed emotions, but at the end of the day it was time for somebody else to continue another era for Burson.”

The 70-year-old will remain a minority shareholder of Burson Auto Parts, which has about 100 staff members from Darwin to Hobart. With revenue of around $300 million, it is second in its market to Repco and has 92 company-owned and branded trade distribution centres in Australia.

Johnson says he was a bit more of a part-time CEO and that “in the absence of family or business succession” he decided to sell.

“There wasn’t a family succession situation there, which I probably would have preferred.”

“I looked inside my business, and there was nobody there that I thought was appropriate or who wanted the job.”

“So I looked around for trade opportunities to sell to.”

Johnson is confident the incoming chief executive Darryl Abotomey, a former Repco employee, will do a good job.

“Sometimes with private equity, they appoint somebody who doesn’t have industry knowledge. That concerned me but I’m confident that won’t be the case,” Johnson says.

Chris Hadley, Quadrant managing director, said the Melbourne-based business had performed very well during the global financial crisis and operated in an industry which is “very resilient in the current challenging environment.”

Johnson’s plans for the future are “some travel, some family, limited business.”
