Price List for Auto Detailing, auto detailing prices.#Auto #detailing #prices

Price List for Auto Detailing

Auto detailing prices

The price list for auto detailing will vary depending upon where you live and where you have the detail or car wash performed. The type of service you request should also be taken into consideration when comparing auto detail prices.

Auto Detailing – The National Average

According to The Auto Detail School, detailers charge between $150 to $200 if you take your vehicle to an independent detail or car wash establishment. To get your car detailed at a high volume used car lot that offers this service, expect to pay anywhere from $65 to $125. A good auto detailer, no matter where you take your vehicle, should take approximately three to five hours to complete the work, depending upon the services you choose. Quickie car washes will be cheaper and faster, but most only offer a basic detail and are high volume retailers.

Price List for Auto Detailing

If a detailer has education and training behind them, the price will be higher. Prices for a good car detail also depend on where you live in the United States. If you live on the West Coast or in a resort town, you’ll pay more, often up to $800 for the works or entire cleaning and detail, depending on the vehicle you own. The East Coast seems to have more reasonable prices, usually around $300, for the same service. The Midwest falls somewhere between the two. Here’s a look at a range of prices you should expect to pay for various auto detailing services:

The price ranges provided above will be affected by the size of a vehicle. For example, if your vehicle is a truck, minivan, or SUV, expect to detailers to charge on the high end of the price ranges provided.

Types of Auto Detailers

Car Wash Chains

The price of an auto detail can be directly related to where you take your car. Almost all large cities and towns have car wash chains that offer return customer discounts. Even with a special, you’ll probably pay around $100 for a service that includes wash, wax, interior and exterior detail, windows, tires, and wheels at these mass-market car wash chains. These are fine for standard cars, trucks, minivans, and SUVs, but once a year you should have your car detailed by a professional. If you do choose the chain car washes, ask about custom hand washing and detailing outside of the machine. Most detailers offer this service if you ask, and you can expect to pay $200-$500 depending on your vehicle size.

Professional Detailers

Professional auto detailers can do it all, including paint chip repairs, clay waxing, and buffing, and they will give you a quality interior detail as well. Only choose detailers in your area who have workers that have been trained or went to a trade school to become a professional detailer. The price range for a full detail, including paint repairs and reconditioning is $400-$800. It should be noted that if you have a luxury car in need of a detailing, you will always need to use a professional detailer in lieu of a body shop or car wash.

Body Shops

Auto body and paint shops will also detail your vehicle. However, for most, it’s an all-day process, and depending upon where you live, you’ll pay $200 to $600. If you’re taking your car in for service at a car dealership, chances are they offer auto detailing as well, and prices at dealerships can range from $200 to $400.

Check Out Your Auto Detalier

You can find a local price list for auto detailing, reviews, and recommendations from Angie’s List. As always, when seeking a consumer service, check with your local Better Business Bureau to see if the company has any unresolved complaints.

Auto Battery Dos & Don’ts

The tips below can help extend the life of your vehicle’s battery while keeping you safe. These tips apply to traditional under-the-hood batteries. These tips DO NOT apply to the electric or hybrid-vehicle battery systems.

  • Keep your truck or car battery and case clean. Dirt and other deposits can prematurely corrode battery terminals.
  • Check the cables to make sure they are firmly attached to the auto battery terminals.
  • Always disconnect your battery’s negative cable first. Always reattach your battery’s negative cable last.
  • The process of charging a truck or car battery releases highly flammable hydrogen. Always charge auto batteries in a well-ventilated area.
  • Handle auto batteries carefully. A cracked case could spill harmful chemicals and cause severe burns and blindness.
  • Always dispose of a car or truck battery in accordance with state and local regulations.
  • Wear jewelry when working with an auto battery.
  • Lean over an auto battery.
  • Guess as to what type/size of car or truck battery your vehicle needs.
  • Attempt to charge a frozen car or truck battery; doing so may cause the battery to explode.
  • Disconnect a battery’s cables while your vehicle is running.

Car valuation check: how much is my car worth?

The Parkers car valuation calculator gives you independent prices and accurate car values – and we can do van valuations too.

Our team of independent experts visit hundreds of car dealers and auctions every month, to research the actual selling price of thousands of cars. We monitor around 1.5 million sales every year – that’s around 4,100 car sales every day!

The right used car prices for you

If you’re looking for a car value calculator, Parkers lists a range of car prices to help you identify the most realistic value for the car you’re looking at buying or selling. We list the original price of the car when new and the secondhand price you’d expect to pay for it today at a franchised dealer, an independent dealer and a private seller.

Used car prices

We also indicate what to pay if the car’s in good or bad condition, and offer a part-exchange value for those buyers simply wishing to trade their existing vehicle in at a dealership. It’s all in our car valuation online tool.

Option to adjust mileage and factory-fitted options

Even though they can make a car more attractive to a potential buyer, not all added options fitted to a vehicle will guarantee an increase in value when you come to sell.

At Parkers, our free car valuation guide lists the options that do increase a car’s value – helping you to calculate a more realistic price.

Remember that mileage and options can make a significant difference to how much your car is worth – sometimes adding hundreds or even thousands of pounds to a value, so it can pay to get a fully adjusted car valuation.

What is the Average Cost to Paint a Car, auto painting prices.#Auto #painting #prices

What is the Average Cost to Paint a Car

The average cost to paint a car has a number of it depends factors attached to it.

If you get your car repainted during special offers, then the average cost goes down by 20-30%. For example, MAACO offers a weekend special price during many weekends. Just like MAACO, during the President s Day Weekend, the Nationwide Auto Painting Chain offers, at least offered through a specific date, a $299.95 special to repaint your old, dull-looking car into a new vibrant-looking vehicle.

If your entire vehicle needs only a simple tire removal, masking and spray paint, you will find that the job will cost between $400- $500, plus tax, if your state charges a service tax.

The cost to repaint a car depends on other factors, such as repair work. If your car is in a condition where the mechanic needs to work on the body to bring it back to good condition, it could raise the cost of the repainting significantly. For example, if your car requires stripping the old layer, removing dents and then repainting the car, then the cost of repainting will be between $1,500-$4,500.

In general, it can cost anywhere from $3,000 to as much as $10,000 or more to repaint a vehicle from a garage. The process itself involves sanding the vehicle to bare metal and then masking the car with any bright and window work, as well as the wheels. Once this is done you must then wash the old metal to clean it thoroughly. Once done, the mechanic applies longevity, enhancing primer to your vehicle s metal. Surface color is reapplied properly, followed by Clearcoat. You can look at spending anywhere from $4,000 to $5,000 to have this work performed correctly.

    Do it Yourself

If you have the knowledge and wish to repaint the car yourself, then you can save a few bucks. But it is recommended to take this job oneself, if you have complete know-how of the project. For repainting the car yourself, you will need various tools such as covers, spray gun, paints etc. Now the cost of the paint can range anywhere from $100 to $1,000, as you will need to apply several layers of the paint, if you want the paint last for long time. If you are looking for best brands in paints, then it can cost up to $6,000.

    Wide Range of Restoration

So, depending on the size of the vehicle, you may find you can have the work done for as little as $500 or as much as $50,000. In many cases, you will also find that your restoration facility will also wet-sand the vehicle to remove dings and scratches, and that they will charge you from $2,000 to $3,000 for the completed work.

At the very most, you will likely find your cost will be in the $3,000 to $4,000 range, but remember you must have the work done correctly and also have the body prepared correctly, or the job won t be to your credit at all.
