How to Get Bank Auto Loans with Bad Credit

You may be here if you have bad credit and are looking for bank auto loans. People with bad or no credit have a harder time obtaining a car loan than people with good to excellent credit. However, do not fret if you have really bad credit because there are options available to you. People have different reasons for having bad credit, such as irresponsible spending habits, or unexpected medical bills. Regardless of your situation, there are lenders that are available to people with less than admirable credit ratings. These lenders specialize in bank auto loans for people with bad credit and will be able to work with you so that you can obtain a loan for a new vehicle. Your credit history is not the only determining factor when trying to get approved for a loan. Besides your credit history, some things that a private auto loan lender will look at are; current monthly earnings, duration of job, and your financial situation.

Applying Online Many people who have no credit are ashamed to ask for a loan and give up before they even try. Did you know that there are many lenders on the Internet that are willing work with people that do not have a credit score? As a consumer with no credit, all you need to do is to fill out an online loan application and have sub-prime lenders compete for your business. The best way to get a bad credit bank auto loan is to fill out as many online applications as possible and see which lender will bite .

Funds for Down Payment Another factor of how much you will be able to receive within your auto loan package is the amount of money that you have for the down payment on the car you are attempting to buy. Remember that a down payment is a very important determining factor when getting accepted for a loan with no credit, because a higher down payment means that there is less risk on the lender. Also, a large down payment can prove to the lender that you are a responsible individual who knows how to save and will provide evidence that you are improving your credit score.

Seek a Co-Signer The last factor when trying to get bank auto loans with bad credit is to seek out a co-signer. A co-signer will help out your cause and will increase your chances of getting a loan. The reason why a co-signer helps when trying to get private auto loans is because they are partially responsible for the loan and the lender will also look at their income as a determining factor when approving your loan application.

Remember that there is hope for you if you are trying to get bank auto loans with bad credit. If you follow the steps of applying for loans online, increasing your down payment, and obtaining a co-signer, then you will most likely get approved for a no (or bad) credit private auto loan.

Banks With the Best CD IRA Interest Rates

The turmoil in the world economy, and the staggering losses inflicted by a falling stock market have left many people looking for safer alternatives for their savings. When it comes to short-term savings, nothing is safer than FDIC-insured banks. Unfortunately, finding good interest rates for CDs and IRAs is more difficult than ever. Fortunately, there are many resources available for consumers who are determined to find the banks with the best CD and IRA interest rates. Opening an account at these financial institutions can offer a decent return and a feeling of safety.

History

It was just a few decades ago that consumers hoping to shop around for better interest rates on their CDs and IRA accounts didn t have many options. Until 1994, banks that were members of the Federal Reserve System were not allowed to cross state lines. Even within a state, customers in many states could not even use a branch from the same bank if they did not open and maintain their account there. After the Savings and Loan crisis of the 1980s, Congress began to pass banking legislation that opened up competition among banks and allowed for branch banking within a state and across state lines. This meant that finding the best CD IRA interest rates was now just a matter of looking hard enough.

Considerations

With short-term interest rates at all-time lows, finding the best CD IRA interest rates is more important than ever. Unfortunately, many of each bank s highest CD interest rates and IRA interest rates require a minimum deposit amount. Other rates may require the customer to also have a checking or savings account in addition to the CD or IRA account. Compare not just rates, but what it takes to get those rates.

Some banks offer higher rates for IRA accounts because they feel that they may be long-term assets even without a long-time commitment for a CD. For IRA accounts be sure to check and see if there is different rate for CDs or even money market accounts that might be higher than the rates offered for non-retirement accounts.

Identification

Finding the best CD and IRA interest rates requires looking at multiple financial institutions. While it is possible to search each individual bank s website manually, there are numerous online resources that make finding the best rates easier. For local rates offered by in-state banks, newspaper and TV station websites often include an interest rate comparison chart that is updated regularly. Financial websites like BankRate.com and offer CD and IRA interest rate comparisons nationwide.

Time Frame

Typically, higher interest rates are offered to customers looking for longer-term CDs and IRA CD accounts. Thus, a five-year CD generally pays more interest than a one-year CD, and a ten-year CD usually pays more than both the former. However, with interest rates at historic lows, be sure to carefully evaluate the pros and cons of locking up funds for a long period of time.

Expert Insight

Interest rates are at all time lows, with the Federal Reserve currently holding its target rate to between 0 percent interest and 0.25 percent interest. From here, interest rates have literally nowhere to go but up. While CDs and IRA accounts with longer timeframes may offer higher rates, those rates are likely to be eclipsed in just the next few years. Thus, the rate on a 10-year CD may be the going rate for a 1-year CD in just two or three years. Consider carefully, the added value of purchasing long-term CDs and IRA CDs at this time. Most people would be better served by 1-year CDs or even 3-year CDs or IRAs than a 10-year CD.

Warning

Most CDs and IRA CD accounts with the best interest rates have penalties for early withdrawal. Be sure to know exactly how much the penalty is for early withdrawal and figure that into your comparison of best interest rates. A 5-year CD offering 3.0 percent interest with a penalty of one-quarter of interest for early withdrawal may be a better offer than a CD offering 3.125 percent interest with a penalty of one year worth of interest for early withdrawal, for most people.

Best Current CD Interest Rates

As of November, 2009, the best interest rates nationally available being offered on 1-year CDs to new and existing accounts were 2.08 percent at UmbrellaBank.com, 2.03 percent at United Americas Bank, 1.99 percent at Pacific Mercantile Bank, and 1.98 percent at Colorado Federal Savings Bank. The average interest rate was 1.680 percent.

The best interest rates on 5-year CDs were 3.30 percent at Discover Bank, 3.05 percent at Ally Bank and 2.97 percent at Aurora Bank, FSB. The average 5-year CD interest rate was 2.873 percent.

All numbers are from BankRate.com. Interest rates listed are as percentages at APY.

7 Coolest Bank of America Card Designs

More than 49 million U.S. consumers use Bank of America, so there s a lot of plastic in the economy.

How can your card stand out as a Bank of America customer? Here are some designs to make your wallet pop in all the right ways:

7. Honorary Mention: Hello Kitty

The design is discontinued since BofA s contract with Sanrio ended, but it was still a great card. It s a simple design, but just seeing it makes you want your eyes to sparkle as you gush over how kawaii desu it is.

Unofficial reason it s discontinued: ATMs couldn t handle how cute this card is.

6. U.S. Pride

Bank of America has a platoon of designs if you want to show off your support for the U.S. military and all that they do for our country. Land, sea and air forces are all featured, as well as a flag if you want to support all branches equally. We gathered all six designs to show them off.

Any one of these six cards can show off your support for the U.S. Armed Forces.

5. Support Your Sport

You can also show off your sports fandom with your Bank of America card. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Bank of America shares the city with the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the Carolina Panthers; other sports organizations also reside in the city. If you want, you can have your BofA card reflect your love of stock car racing. You can also get a card for any of Major League Baseball s 30 teams and a few NFL teams as well.

A pairing between Bank of America and America s Team just makes sense.

4. College Cards

While college support usually goes hand-in-hand with sports, we made this its own category. Alumni of certain schools can have their Bank of America card display their college pride, from the Arkansas Razorbacks to the University of Texas. These designs can feature logos and seals, but some show off architecture and sculptures.

Notre Dame alumni can use this card to become the Swipin Irish.

3. Eyes of the Tiger

What these designs all have in common is passion. Sometimes, though, that passion isn t just about being a fan. It can be a passion about making a difference, which is what this World Wide Fund for Nature theme is all about. Not only do you feel good about the everyday activism you re engaging in, but you re also raising awareness with each purchase. That s definitely a win-win.

Using this WWF-themed card as a talking point can raise conservation awareness.

2. Credit for the Cure

Some charitable causes hit a lot closer to home. One in eight women is expected to develop some form of breast cancer in her lifetime. Her connection to you could be as a mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, niece, partner or friend. Surviving it is an incredible feat because enduring it is such an ordeal. By having your card affiliated with a group dedicated to ending breast cancer, you can help end it without spending a single day in med school.

In addition to supporting cancer research, your card will fit right in each October.

1. Custom Designs

Sometimes, though, even the coolest design template just isn t enough. Take, for instance, Ben Shoemate s dilemma. As one of millions of Bank of America customers, his card looked exactly like thousands upon thousands of other BofA cards. So he tried a few things, including spray paint and iron-on transfer paper, usually used for T-shirts. Those attempts didn t go well, but making a sticker set for his card did.

You can use stickers to make your card as awesome as you want.

Shoemate turned his boring generic card into an incredible tribute to the TV show Futurama. Bender appears on the front, as well as a finance-themed alteration of the Internet meme all your base are belong to us. On the back, the magnetic strip is left uncovered, but the rest of the card is treated to the same overhaul. If you re new to stickers, you can find all sorts of how-to guides over at Printaholic.com.

Don t cover the magnetic stripe on the back of your card when using stickers!

Customize Your Card Today

Whether you use one of BofA s templates or go with a custom design, there s no time like the present when it comes to revamping your card. And if you still don t have a card with EMV-chip technology. an upgrade will enhance both your card s appearance and its security. To view all of the available design templates, check out Bank of America s debit card page .
