    #

At one time, used vehicle auctions used to be held using hand signals.

USS quickly introduced information technology (IT) to such used vehicle auctions, creating a fair and efficient “USS Auto Auction,” which eliminates people’s self-serving traits. Then, we added a “Globe Network” service, which utilize satellites, and an Internet-based “Internet Live” service. Thus, USS provides the largest, convenient used vehicle auction service in Japan, which can be accessed from anywhere in the country.

USS Auto Auction is the largest used vehicle auction in Japan, with a market share of 30%(January-December 2014 Results is 32.3%) or more.

Leveraging a commanding position in terms of vehicle consignments and vehicle information, USS Auto Auctions can match the needs of both sellers and buyers, and can boast one of the highest numbers of contract completions.

There are three ways to participate in a USS Auto Auctions: “on-site,” “via satellite” or “over the Internet.” Since members can choose to take part in USS Auto Auctions in the way that best suits them, many members from around the country participate in our auctions, raising our contract completion (sell-through) rate. And the more our contract completion rate improves, the more willing people are to put their vehicles up for auction, resulting in a virtuous cycle.

    About Massa Auto Pawn

Colorado s Largest Auto Pawn Business

Our Lakewood auto pawn business, Massa Auto Pawn, was founded by Michael M. Massa in 1990. Michael started the company after spending 27 years in the auto glass industry. He previously owned Massa Glass, Inc. Michael started Massa Auto Pawn after realizing that many people were in search of large amounts of quick cash that didn t involve dealing with banks.

Massa Auto Pawn started out with a single location in Denver (at 10 th and Cherokee St.). However, business took off with the company expanding by 1995 to four metropolitan locations, as well as other locations in Colorado Springs and Pueblo. By 2005, there was so much growth that the business operations were handed over to Michael T. Massa and Kimberly A. Massa. Now, Massa Auto Pawn has five locations and is the largest auto pawn business in Colorado!

Quick Cash Through Our Lakewood Auto Pawn Services

Auto pawns are extremely helpful for individuals who need to get large amounts of cash in short timeframes. When people pawn their vehicles, they gain immediate access to the funds they need.

At Massa Auto Pawn, we provide pawn all types of vehicles, such as:

    • On-the-road vehicles: cars, trucks, motorcycles, limousines, etc.
    • Recreational vehicles: RVs, ATVs, golf carts, snowmobiles, etc.
    • Watercraft and aircraft: boats, sail boats, jet skis, airplanes, etc.
    • Construction vehicles: front-end loaders, backhoes, etc.

Because these pawned vehicles sometimes get left behind in the process, our pawn locations also serve as dealerships for moderately priced used vehicles! Don t hesitate to visit one of our locations and check out our inventory. We are located in Lakewood, Northglenn, Aurora, Denver, Pueblo, and Colorado Springs.

    Not Your Typical Pawn Business

When people hear the word pawn, they tend to think of the stereotypical image of a dark, dirty, sketchy shop. This type of image does not usually match the auto pawn business especially not our Massa Auto Pawn locations. Instead, our locations are clean, bright, and welcoming.

Because of the great deals and great finds we offer at Massa Auto Pawn, many of our customers describe us as the best kept secret of the used car industry! We take pride in the options we offer our customers, as we realize that not everyone can afford to spend $20,000 on a vehicle.

    Feedback

“Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it.” Thomas Paine was, of course, not talking about the freedom of automobile or even horse carriage ownership. Nonetheless, there’s a point to be made: having a car can be a blessing and a burden.

Know the facts first: a car is not an investment. It is a depreciating asset, meaning it loses value over time. On average, new cars and trucks lose more than 20% of their value in the first year (Motley Fool). On the flipside, that means that if you can find a well-maintained car that’s just one or two years old, you’ll get a huge discount on an almost-new model!

The following outline will walk you through the process of selecting and purchasing a car.

    1. Can you afford it?

    • Create a budget. Start setting aside money from your paycheck to buy a car if you don’t have enough in savings already.
    • Research. Determine the type of car that you want to buy, and make sure it is the best car for you. Things to consider:
      • Cost
      • Brand reputation
      • Size (sedan, truck, van etc.)
      • Gas mileage
      • Safety
      • Typical repair costs
      • Ability to meet long-term needs
    • Determine if you have the money for repairs, maintenance, gas, insurance, plates, taxes, registration, and all the other costs of owning a car. Buying the car is only one cost of owning a car.
    • These helpful websites can help you figure out pricing information:
      • Autobytel
      • Car.com
      • CarsDirect
      • How to buy a new car (Consumer Reports)
      • Edmunds.com
      • Invoice Dealers
      • Kelly Blue Book

    2. Do you need a loan?

    • If you can’t pay for the car out of pocket, you can make a down payment and obtain a loan with monthly payments for the rest. To minimize the interest you pay, you should maximize your down payment.
    • Shop around for the best interest rate and other terms: check with the dealership, with local banks and credit unions, and online.
    • Read more in our car loans section.

    3. New or used?

    • The biggest reason to buy used instead of new is the price. Determine if you have the means to buy a new or used car.
    • Risk of a used car: You typically buy a used car “as is,” meaning you are taking on the risk of there being any defects that you were unaware of. Unlike with a new car, which is warranted to be in new condition, you need to use caution when buying a used car and get all the details out on the table before making the purchase.
      • Ask questions and know everything about the history of a used car:
        • Number of previous owners
        • If the car was ever in an accident
        • Any previous mechanical problems
        • The maintenance history of the car
      • Have the car inspected by an independent mechanic with a good reputation, preferably one specializing in that brand of cars. If you’re buying from an individual, you can get the car appraised at CarMax and they’ll tell you if they find anything wrong with it.

    4. Where do you find a car?

    • Car dealerships
    • Used car websites
    • Classifieds/Craigslist

    5. At the dealership:

    • Be sure to have already done some research to try to figure out how low the dealer is willing to go on price. Don’t be afraid to negotiate. Every salesman’s goal is to get you to pay more than the bottom-line price. You may even have to walk away and wait for them to call you back. To the fearless go the best prices.
      • You can find out what dealers pay for a vehicle for $14 from Consumer Reports. Use this information to your advantage.
    • The best times of the year to buy a car are at the end of December and between July and October.
    • If you’re looking for financing, know your credit history. Get a credit report before going to dealers to make sure you’re all on the same page.

    6. Before making the purchase:

    • If buying used, get a full inspection from a reputable mechanic before buying .
    • If buying used, obtain a Vehicle History Report from CARFAX.com. It will enable you to determine whether the car was ever salvaged, stolen, or recalled, the number of previous owners, whether it ever failed inspection, and whether someone has tried to create a fraudulent odometer reading.
    • Be wary of signing an “as is statement for a used car dealer. You are paying more to a dealer than you would to a private party, so you should demand at least 30 days to make sure the car is in good condition.
      • On the other hand, when you purchase a car from an individual, signing an “as is” statement is standard practice. That’s why it’s imperative to have the car thoroughly checked out before you buy it. If nothing’s wrong, you’ll get a better deal versus going through a dealer.
    • If you’re obtaining financing from a bank or credit union, have your loans finalized.

A Glimpse into the Salvage Auto Auction Process

Salvage auto auctions are special wholesale auto auctions that serve car dealers across the world. Car-Tech Auction, Inc. is a dealer auto auction that does the same, and offers wholesale auto auctions on-site and via internet bidding.

Customer Service Has No Finish Line

At Car-Tech’s car auctions in New Jersey. we sell insurance vehicles that have been damaged from collision, flood, theft, fire, and other losses. At our salvage auto insurance auction, we also sell rental company vehicles, charity donation vehicles, and repossessions.

Car-Tech is a dealer-only wholesale auto auction that welcomes all types of buyers ranging from rebuilders to scrap metal customers. Exporters are welcome as well and are a growing arm of our business. Many other wholesale salvage auto auctions sell salvageable automobiles to similar people in the dealer auto auction industry.

    The Wholesale Auto Auction Process

Auto Enhancement. Before a car is sold, it can undergo detailing, vacuuming and shampooing, flood damage recovery, shrink wrapping, patching and more. At Car-Tech’s facilities, we provide services to get a car in its best shape before auto salvage auction bidding begins. These steps can increase the value of the already-damaged car, and increase the odds for higher insurance salvage auto auction bidding.

Preparing to Bid. Car-Tech makes buying an auto in a wholesale auto salvage auction easy. Our live internet bidding allows licensed dealers to be at the sale. You can bid simultaneously with our live auction. And if you want to go to our two weekly car auctions in New Jersey – c’mon down. You can browse our weekly sale of more than 300 vehicles and even put automobiles on your “watch list” so you can monitor those you’re interested in before you bid in our salvage auto auctions. Our technology will lead you securely through the bidding process.

Internet Bidding. Perhaps the best aspect of Car-Tech’s auto salvage auctions is that we offer internet bidding so dealers around the world can access our salvage auto auctions. All internet bids are sent from your computer directly to the auctioneer, just as if you were at the live dealer auto auction . Preview our weekly sale list of 200+ vehicles from our website and then be ready to bid. Our new technology will lead you right through the bidding process and will even provide you with an email giving you a summary of your purchases.

Transportation. At many salvage auto auctions, transportation is provided to save on storage fees. Car-Tech provides prompt pickup service, timely vehicle delivery, extended coverage transportation, junk car removal and commercial towing. We can help get your car to and from the auction in a timely manner. This way you get your auto quickly after you buy it in the dealer auto auction.

What to Do About Auto Loans for People with Very Bad Credit #auto #battery #reviews

Do Car Loans for Very Bad Credit Scores Exist?

While a payday loan may seem like a good way to get cash when you need it to buy a car, there are better alternatives out there, even when you need very bad credit financing. One of these alternatives is car loans for people with bad credit from AutoNet Financial.

They are meant to appeal to people who need cash quickly and have no other way to get it. In order to qualify for this type of loan, you need a job and some type of income verification (your employer can’t be paying you under the table with cash. Typical loan amounts range from $100 to $2500, while the duration of the loan is usually 2 weeks. Interest rates are loosely regulated by the states for these amounts and average 25% per month (unlike a very bad credit car loan. payday loan interest is computed monthly, not yearly).

In addition to interest charges, the loan company usually assesses an origination fee. Many of the storefront locations these companies operate out of also offer check cashing services, pawn loans and car title loans.

Real Bad Credit Car Loans – Why They’re Better

Here is a typical payday loan scenario when you need a car loan. Let’s say you take out a $2500 payday loan to buy a car instead of choosing car loans for people with very low credit. You give the auto loan company your employment information and a copy of your last pay stub. You pay them the $15 origination fee and sign a document that says you will pay them $625 in interest (25% per month) plus the $2500 in principal in 2 weeks. If you don’t have the entire amount in 2 weeks, the loan company will allow you to roll over the loan for another 2 weeks, provided you pay them the interest amount. Most states will allow this type of rollover to occur at least four times.

What is the true cost to borrow this money? Well, let’s take a look. If you ended up rolling over the loan four times, for a total of 2 and a half months, it would look like this:

    1. $15.00 in origination fee plus
    2. $2500.00 in interest charges

This amounts to a total of $2515.00 in interest and charges to borrow $2500.00. This equates to an annual interest rate of over 100%. One other thing: if you don’t pay the principal back, the loan company can garnish your wages – which can be quite embarrassing, to say the least.

    Very Poor Credit Auto Financing

A better alternative to payday loans are very bad credit car loans from buy here pay here dealerships. These loans feature:

    • At least a 36 month repayment term, repayable in installments;
    • No personal check mechanism or other unfair collateral. Your car is the collateral.
    • Full consideration of the borrower’s ability to repay the loan – the lender reviews your poor credit history for car loans and bases the loan amount on your ability to repay the loan

If you are considering a payday loan, you should also remember that they do little to help you get back on your feet – much less reestablish your credit history and raise your FICO score.

If you are not planning on buying a car with a payday loan and, instead, use it to pay off bills, you should know that a better alternative to payday lending is for you to deal directly with your debt. Many creditors will negotiate partial payments if a payment plan is in place. Working out a payment plan with creditors can allow the consumer to adjust billing to pay off bills over a longer period of time.

Some employers will allow paycheck advances to employees. Because this is a true advance, and not a loan, there is no interest and the advance is much cheaper than a payday loan.

Payday loans are a type of lending that is considered predatory and should be avoided by consumers at all costs. If you have had poor credit in the past and you need to reestablish your car credit and raise your credit score, you should consider car loans for people with low credit.

We have 20 years of practice in special finance and work directly with special finance car dealers and the leading automotive financing lenders throughout all of North America. The knowledge and expertise we have gained through years of bad credit car loan financing for people enables us to give you the best assistance possible for your personal situation.

    Consumer Complaints Reviews

Most recently, I bought two batteries for my truck. The batteries are dead in just one year. My employee took the truck to AutoZone to swap the batteries under warranty. They insisted on having a phone number. I said “you acknowledge it’s your battery, right? and you see the date on the batteries are just from a year ago right?” He said it didn’t matter and he needed the phone number. I wasn’t there so I was rattling off all of the phone numbers we have for the store, my cell, my home, our pseudo number, etc. none of them was coming up. Before my employee left, but was in the parking lot, he said, “was Tim working for you then?” so he went back in and tried an old employee’s phone number. Still no luck. So they basically say “** you, we know it’s our bad battery but if you can’t come up with a receipt or phone number, we won’t honor it.”

In a separate incident several years ago my friend and I were working on his brakes. He took his rotors in to have them turned and we went to eat lunch. When we got back an hour later, they hadn’t done and it and said “we can’t turn them because they’re too thin.” I asked him “what’s the specs? let me see how you measured it.” He gets the micrometer out and shows me the thickness. I said, “that’s not how you read that thing.” He didn’t know he was talking to two engineers. So either he was totally incompetent or he was scamming everyone. It’s possibly a company policy, but he sure was confident in his scam. And he was completely embarrassed when I showed him how to read the micrometer. We took the rotors to Oreilly down the road.

    The truth about extended warranties

If you buy a new smartphone, tablet, computer, TV or even car stereo, it’s very likely the sales person will try to sell you an extended warranty. You never know when something terrible might happen to your gadget, after all.

It’s no secret that extended warranties are a money-maker for stores, otherwise they wouldn’t push them so hard. But does that mean that they’re a bad deal for you? It depends on a number of factors that we’ll look at. There are also some alternatives to in-store extended warranties you should know.

    Alternatives

Before you even consider any extended warranty, check with your credit card company. It might give you an extended warranty or extra benefits automatically when you buy with certain cards. Some cards will extend the manufacturer’s warranty another full year.

You also might want to shop around for the item you want. Some stores will throw in an extended warranty or extend the factory warranty for free when you buy from them. It’s a good way to get extra protection without paying.

How To Sell New Cars (Without Hating Yourself) – The Truth About Cars #buy #cars #online

    #how to sell a car
    #

How To Sell New Cars (Without Hating Yourself)

I remember the look on my father’s face when I explained to him that I would be selling cars. It was the look any of someone who has just heard the details of a grisly murder; a bit of curiosity, quickly overtaken by disdain. He sank into his chair. “It’s a job,” he grunted, and I realized that was as strong an endorsement for my new job as I was going to get. Truth be told, I felt about the same.

It s no surprise that the car salesman has been painted as a snake-oil pusher; a charlatan peddling his wares to people in an unethical manner. Like all stereotypes it s a vast overgeneralization, but I had the same perceptions of car salesmen as anyone going into my first day at work. I wondered: how accurate were the portrayals in popular culture? Would I have to get white shoes and slick back my hair? Would I have to wear a pinky ring?!

My fears were assuaged as I was let in on the trade secrets. Here’s the dirty, sordid summation of car salesmanship: guide, but don’t push. That’s it in a nutshell. Sure, we accentuate the positive attributes of a car and explain why the car fits the needs you, the buyer, have laid out for us, but it does neither you nor us any service to try and push you into a car you don’t want.

The nature of the business is a strange one; both sides, neither friends nor foes, feigning small-talk while each wanting to retain money that is up for grabs. As my contempt for my new profession faded and I discovered that a few bad apples had soiled the reputation of all car salesmen, I began to observe the odd interactions between buyers and salesmen. Certain unexpected truths quickly revealed themselves.

Truth #1: Everybody Wants to Buy, but Nobody Wants to be Sold

On my second day at the job, a veteran salesman summed up every buyer: everybody wants to buy, but nobody wants to be sold. He was right.

Instead of pushing anything, I began to familiarize myself with cars and whenever I talked to an “up” (an on-the-lot customer), I started by asking buyers what were “musts” and what were “preferences”. The process started with them narrowing in on what they envisioned for their ride. If people envision driving down the freeway in a luxury SUV, no matter what kind of sedan you show them, they will feel conned if you push them towards a sedan. Then, you will have lost their trust and most likely, their business. So, we always take the buyer’s lead. “You want a ½ ton Chevy with an extended cab? Great, we have several of them. You mentioned you would like it black. If the price was right, would you consider a different color?” Every preference has its price.

Despite the shady reputation, car salesmen really do listen and care what car you want. The problem is that most buyers aren’t sure of what they want themselves. We have to guide you to the sale, but make sure it’s your idea. Honestly, it’s exhausting. Our persuasive skills mainly come into play in the negotiation process. So, before you step on the lot, write out your “musts” and be prepared to articulate them to your salesman and you’ll make it easier to find that for which you are looking.

Truth #2: Buyers are (Most Likely) Not Professional Negotiators

As we walk amongst the rows of cars, buyers are wary of salesmen. They’re fearful we will pull some voodoo magic mixed with a Jedi mind-trick and force them into buying a car against their will. Once they’re in the office, a façade of skepticism and unearned bravado washes over them and anxiety dissipates like a Xanax in full effect. Husbands will swagger as if to say, “I’ve got this. I know how to haggle.” It’s an odd phenomenon because this is where buyers should feel the least confident.

We know the buyer likes the car. The average person goes through the car buying process a handful of times in their lives. Yet, while the salesman deals in car sales frequently, the buyer often puts forth a confident front. It’s reminiscent of the stereotypical tourist who saddles up to the blackjack table in Vegas insisting that he has a “system” after having read a book about gambling on the plane. Remember: they didn’t build Caesar’s palace by losing to tourists, and we don’t sustain a living by being bested by buyers. Does it happen? Sure, but not often.

It’s weird to witness; the theatrics people pull to show they won’t be pushed around. They will stomp out in a huff and hope we chase after them. They will low-ball us and claim that they saw the exact same car down the road for that price. If they had, they would be down there buying it.

The best way to get a killer deal is to approach the negotiation from a prepared standpoint. Do your research! Know, realistically, how much the car is worth (not according to Kelley Blue Book, but local market value), and understand that the dealership needs to make a profit, too. If they offer you a ludicrous deal, showing them that you know your stuff goes a long way to getting them to knock off the high-balling. If you come prepared with a reasonable offer, based on facts and not wishful thinking, things will go a lot smoother for everybody and you won’t appear foolish. While bravado is often a sign of unsure footing, preparedness illustrates to us someone who is not easy fooled and will often yield a better deal.

Truth #3: The Real Savings are in the Trade-in Allowance, not the Price

People do whatever they can to not pay sticker price. Paying full sticker can feel like a moral defeat. However, where salesmen often have the most wiggle room is in the trade-in allowance.

We get a commission based on the profit the dealership made. We also give you the littlest amount for your trade-in so that when we sell it, we make the most money. Furthermore, we need to allow as much room as possible in case your trade-in (that you swore “runs like a top”), needs costly repairs.

When you come into our office and demand we lower the asking price, we are hesitant to do so because it eats away at the profit margin as well as our commission. A better tactic is to ask for a better price on your trade.

This is tricky. Don’t be defensive. Everybody is defensive when that jewel of a car is appraised for two-thirds its actual value. Instead, insist that the sticker price is a bit high, but that you are more concerned with the trade-in allowance. Getting a thousand dollars more for your trade-in is the same as getting a thousand dollars off the selling price. But it can be easier to get the trade-in number to budge.

Of course, every dealership is different and may have different policies as to how they figure commission. So it won’t necessarily work at every dealership. But if raising the trade-in allowance doesn’t affect the salesman’s commission, then you will likely get less resistance from him.

It’s a strange business, alright. However, people need cars and as my dad said: it’s a job.

    Consumer Complaints Reviews

My daughter went into Goodyear on September 19 (Saturday) for an oil change. The car was running fine. Shortly after leaving, it started jerking and smoking. I had it towed back to Goodyear. They told me that someone had left the cap off. Turns out it was off the radiator. It was shortly after closing but they looked at it, then said she was good to go. When she tried to leave, it wouldn’t stay cranked. They said leave it and we’ll look at it on Monday.

Monday, I received a call that the gasket was probably blown and that it would be about $1700. I had her father call because he’s a machinist who’s done work for this shop before and obviously he knows more about cars than I do. He spoke to a technician and asked for the manager. Manager wasn’t there, so her Daddy called back the next day (Tuesday). The manager said they were not responsible.

Wednesday, I called corporate. I felt confident that the problem would be handled. It was not. There was no sense of urgency. After several phone calls and days of waiting, I received a call today that their inspector said that the car had apparently been in a collision and that the bumper had punctured the radiator. In the beginning they said that the gasket must have been bad already.

The car had hit another car (in a parking lot) three (3) year ago. It wasn’t even a high speed collision. It was in a parking lot. Needless to say, Goodyear will not accept any responsibility for this. I am beyond angry (as the rating indicates). I have been a loyal customer and I feel like I’ve been railroaded. I also have to wonder if this is a regular component of their business practice. If every shop screwed over one customer a month, they could make a lot of money.

BYD Responds to Calif. Charges of Labor Violations Fine With Promise To Hire More U.S. Workers As It Hopes To Expand Production To Europe

By TTAC Staff on November 5, 2013

In response to charges that it s California electric bus building operation has been violating that state s labor and minimum wage laws in the way it employs Chinese nationals, the company issued a statement saying that it is   dedicated to ensuring that its employees are treated fairly and that it would be hiring more American employees at its California electric bus factory. BYD explained that the Chinese nationals in question were engineers and experts that had been loaned by the parent company to transfer technology and train local employees and that they are not displacing any American workers. California labor officials had hit BYD with a $100,000 fine, charging that the company was paying its Chinese employees only $1.50/hr. The company is appealing that fine. BYD currently employs about 40 local workers at the plant. The state investigation was the result of charges by labor rights group Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy of minimum wage and other labor violations. Last week, BYD had said that the group was spreading misinformation .

BYD electric buses have been tried out in Paris, Bremen, Bonn, Madrid, Barcelona, Salzburg, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Brussels and Budapest, and trials will begin in London as well. The electric bus is 12 meters (37 feet) long and is claimed to have a range of 250 kilometers (150 miles) in urban use, powered by lithium iron phosphate battery cells.

Main Headquarters For Vehicle Shipping Estimates

    Direct Express Auto Transport

    321 San Anselmo Avenue

    San Anselmo, CA 94960

Direct Express Auto Transport had its start in 2003 and within a couple of years changed the way business in the car shipping service industry worked. We were the first to offer the visitor to any auto transport web site an instant and free rate with our innovative vehicle shipping cost calculator. No jacket required and by that we mean no personal information required. The instant gratification for the visitor coupled with the respect for his or her privacy was very much appreciated and our business took off.

    Car Shipping Rates Calculator

Direct Express Auto Transport has steadily fine tuned the car shipping rates calculator to make it even more reliable. We do not think any competitor does it better, which only makes sense as we originated the concept. At first the price or cost to ship a car was calculated state to state. But that didn t always work as some states were just too large. We responded by narrowing the calculations per distance and type of vehicle, thus allowing for city to city rates. Direct Express Auto Transport added several more variables to the vehicle shipping cost generator that makes it one of a kind, which is our secret recipe. The result is perhaps the lowest cancellation rate in the car transport industry, or so we have been told.

Direct Express Auto Transport has shipped over one hundred thousand vehicles, making us one of the largest car shipping companies in America. Our rates and prompt service set us apart from the competition. We will schedule your vehicle on the right truck to fit your shipping needs. That gives you the best possible vehicle shipping experience at the most competitive price. Our auto shipping service includes sedans, sports cars, luxury cars, trucks, pick-up trucks, sports utility vehicles called SUV s, mini-vans and large passenger and cargo vans. We of course service the entire continental United States, which you can view here .

Mike Rupers Direct Express Auto Transport

Company President Mike Rupers founded Direct Express Auto Transport in 2003 and still owns the company. We have a talented customer service staff trained to answer your questions and deal with the logistics of your car move. We take care of little issues before they can become big issues, and have a very good reputation within the auto shipping industry as car transport carriers and truck drivers alike know that they can count on our company to fully inform the customer. Shooting straight with everyone we do business has paid off.

Self-Serve Garage (SSG) is a new concept in automotive care for auto owners in the South King County, Washington Area.  The Do-It-Yourself (DIY) market in America is increasingly popular, as indicated by the number of TV programs devoted to the topic.  Self-Serve Garage fills the gap between business that offer auto parts and tools or full-service auto repair by providing a location for customer s to fix their own vehicle.  We do this by offering bay rentals. tool rentals. mechanic rentals. and more.

He has a Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.

A Brief History of Mill Supply, Inc.

    A Dream

In the midst of the heartaches of World War II, the discovery of concentration camps, D-Day, and the debut of “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet”, one man, Milbert Moritz (Mill), began a sole proprietorship selling paint and body shop supplies to local auto and truck repair shops. It was a business plan that would be an uphill climb, but in 1944 there was no reason to hold back, it would succeed or fail, and succeed it was. During those early years Mill adopted the philosophies that Mill Supply, Inc. still uses today. He discovered what his customers really wanted; fast shipping, quality parts, and competitive prices.

    All Businesses Need to Grow

As the years passed and customer demands increased, Mill expanded his business to sell to fleets, hence Mill Auto Supply became a supplier for Step Van Parts. Growing involved moving into a larger facility and in 1968 Mill Auto Supply moved from 65th and Hough to 33rd and Superior in Cleveland, Ohio. By doubling their size with the new facility there was enough room to take on other products and he began selling aftermarket automotive replacement panels that were no longer available from dealers.

    It’s Time to Sell

In 1975 Milbert Moritz decided it was time to sell but not retire. In fact, Mr. Moritz never did retire until he was laid to rest in 2002. Many can still remember when he would call in an order from his home in Florida. It was his desire to have personal contact with each local customer and as far as we know, he did.

    Some Names Linger

By 1981 Mill Auto Supply began selling to others besides fleets and body shops. A name change was in order, hence Mill Supply, Inc. became the official name. Even at the turn of the century our original customers still used the old name without any intention of changing, though it was a change that was needed. For in 1986 Mill’s market was expanded to include snow plow parts. Today our “Discount Snow Plow Parts” catalog reaches snow removal professionals across the country. The line includes parts for Meyer, Western, Fisher and Diamond plows plus many other related winter items. You can jump to our web site at www.discountsnowplowparts.com and discover the variety of related products we now offer to the snow plow industry.

    Busting at the Seams

Thirty years in one place is enough. Lofts and second levels in rooms that were designed for one floor were choked to inefficiency. The travel between a local second warehouse wasted time for packers and warehouse employees. Office space was saved by using smaller desks and cubical walls were used to absorb some of the sound. We had maxed out all available space renovation options and it was time to move on. After literally years of searching, an adequate facility with sufficient warehouse and office space for both the present and future needs was located in Warrensville Hts, Ohio. With careful planning Mill Supply, Inc. made its major move in one weekend after months of preparation; no down time, no slack in order fulfillment.

With the increase in warehouse space, expanding the automotive industry from just rust repair panels was without question. Our customers demanded more products; thus we added radiators, fuel tanks, mirrors, lamps, oil pans, brake pads and the list goes on. And that was just for the body shop and the home mechanic. Our step van line increased to include chassis and suspension parts, brakes, bumpers and more. Recently, we have introduced equipment parts for the commercial landscape industry. And all this because we moved into a space where we could make dreams come true.

Milbert Moritz’ dream began in 1944. Three generations of owners later the dream still grows with the same original principles; fast shipping, quality parts, and competitive prices.

Fastest Way to become an RN

Here are some of my questions I need opinions and Former RN’s to help with this:

    1) Is it easier to become a CNA then apply to Nursing school and try to get in?

    2) Is it easier to become an LPN then apply to a Nursing school and try to be accepted?

    3) Whats the most efficient and fast way of becoming a RN?

I was thinking about going for my CNA in Jan. of 2008 and hopefully transfering to a nursing school in Fall of 2008. Or is it better to go and find a school for a 2 year degree in LPN or RN then becoming an RN? Any info would be deeply appreciated.

A typical student who goes for a BSN in nursing will take 3.5-4 years.

My situations is this, I am in a private university, no such things as a wait list, more expensive. I started in April of this year, 2007, and will be completed and ready for my NCLEX by June 2009. This includes ALL my pre reqs. Had I already had my pre reqs, I could complete our program in 18 months. I will have my ASN, associates of science in nursing, and be an RN, after I pass NCLEX. Now at that point I will be 2 years into schooling and be an RN. I will take my BSN classes online, as my school offers this as well, this will take 1 more year. and in 3 years time I will have my BSN in nursing. WAY Faster then traditional method. PLUS the last year I will be working and making money, and gaining experience while getting my BSN.

Good luck in what you decide to do.

In my opinion, it would be a waste of time to become a CNA, (unless you just want to work in the nursing arena). You still have to take your prerequisite classes, such as, English, Algebra, World history, Anatomy Physiology, Microbiology etc. You have to complete these core classes with satisfactory grades before taking the NET or Nurse Entrance Test. None of the credits from a CNA program will transfer, but some credits from the LPN program does transfer, it depends on your school. Also an LPN is not a degree program, it is a licencse to practice nursing in your state, you receive a diploma or certificate. My advice is to aim for the top, become an RN.

I can reply to this message on a more personal level. I graduated from a four year school Dec 2005. Couldn’t get a job in my field to save my life. I first thought I wanted to be a teacher, but after even struggling with that decision, I decided to pursue nursing which is something I wanted to do while in school the first go around. Getting there was the problem. It was the middle of the Fall 2006 semester when I decided to got to nursing school. I couldn’t apply for admission into a new school until Spring of 07. My crazy self decided that I could go to the community college, become a CNA (which is now a requirement before they’ll even accept you into an ADN program) then start my pre reqs over the summer. I took general psyc over the summer since I got a D on it during my first degree and a D won’t transfer. I’m now at this school that offers an Accelerated BSN program for those with a degree in a field other than nursing. The program will take 13 months to complete. Basically, if I were you and was planning on applying to an ADN program, I would become a CNA first, especially if it’s a requirement. If you’re planning on going to a four year school, I wouldn’t worry about the NA certification because they’ll certify you after a few semesters into the program. It does help to be a CNA because you’d have relevent experience. But if you don’t want to waste the time to become certified, you could be a volunteer. I just started working as a CNA after being certified in March. I work at a teaching hospital which is cool. I just learned that they have a CNA program that allows you get certified in 2 WEEKS. The program I enrolled in at the community college took 2 MONTHS. As far as the whole LPN thing goes, I probably wouldn’t even waste my time. I’ve been doing some research and from what I’ve read less and less hospitals are hiring LPN’s but if you plan to work at maybe a prison, or a rest home then go for it.

A typical student who goes for a BSN in nursing will take 3.5-4 years.

Wow I really like that method. I wish that was available everywhere.

It really depends on the school you go to.

I have heard others on the board state that their school requires you become a CNA first or give you extra points if you do.

Others schools do not care, won’t even ask that on the application so having it is just a big waste of time. They will not give you extra points or any advantage for doing it.

So pick a school out and work on the requirments that the school you want to go to has.

As far as a LPN it will not help you get into RN school. If you go that route you will have to take pre reqs for the LPN program, and then get accepted, and its tough to get into just like the RN programs. Then once in most take a year, and you will get a certificate. Then you will have to go back to CC and take more pre reqs and reapply to an RN bridge program, get accepted and do that before getting a degree, and sitting for the state exam. Its actually a much longer road.

Here are some of my questions I need opinions and Former RN’s to help with this:

    1) Is it easier to become a CNA then apply to Nursing school and try to get in?

Top 10 Guidelines for Homepage Usability

Summary: A company s homepage is its face to the world and the starting point for most user visits. Improving your homepage multiplies the entire website s business value, so following key guidelines for homepage usability is well worth the investment.

Homepages are the most valuable real estate in the world. Each year, companies and individuals funnel millions of dollars through a space that’s not even a square foot in size. For good reason. A homepage’s impact on a company’s bottom line is far greater than simple measures of e-commerce revenues: The homepage is your company’s face to the world. Increasingly, potential customers will look at your company’s online presence before doing business with you — regardless of whether they plan to close the actual sale online. (Update: our studies of B2B usability found that this is the predominant behavior of business users.)

The homepage is the most important page on most websites. and gets more page views than any other page. Of course, users don’t always enter a website from the homepage. A website is like a house in which every window is also a door: People can follow links from search engines and other websites that reach deep inside your site. However, one of the first things these users do after arriving at a new site is go to the homepage. Deep linking is very useful, but it doesn’t give users the site overview a homepage offers — if the homepage design follows strong usability guidelines, that is.

Following are ten things you can do to increase the usability of your homepage and thus enhance your website’s business value.

Make the Site’s Purpose Clear: Explain Who You Are and What You Do

    1. Include a one-sentence tagline

Start the page with a tagline that summarizes what the site or company does, especially if you’re new or less than famous. Even well-known companies presumably hope to attract new customers and should tell first-time visitors about the site’s purpose. It is especially important to have a good tagline if your company’s general marketing slogan is bland and fails to tell users what they’ll gain from visiting the site.

    2. Write a window title with good visibility in search engines and bookmark lists

Begin the TITLE tag with the company name, followed by a brief description of the site. Don’t start with words like “The” or “Welcome to” unless you want to be alphabetized under “T” or “W.”

    3. Group all corporate information in one distinct area

Finding out about the company is rarely a user’s first task, but sometimes people do need details about who you are. Good corporate information is especially important if the site hopes to support recruiting, investor relations. or PR. but it can also serve to increase a new or lesser-known company’s credibility. An “About company-name ” section is the best way to link users to more in-depth information than can be presented on the homepage. (See also my report on usability guidelines for the design of “about us” areas of corporate websites .)

Help Users Find What They Need

    4. Emphasize the site’s top high-priority tasks

Your homepage should offer users clear starting points for the main 1–4 tasks they’ll undertake when visiting your site.

    5. Include a search input box

Search is an important part of any big website. When users want to search, they typically scan the homepage looking for “the little box where I can type,” so your search should be a box. [Make your search box at least 25 characters wide,] so it can accommodate multiple words without obscuring parts of the user’s query.

(Update: Based on more recent findings, my recommendation is now to make the search box 27 characters wide. This and other new guidelines are covered in our course on Top Web UX Design Guidelines at the annual UX Conference .)

    Reveal Site Content

    6. Show examples of real site content

Don’t just describe what lies beneath the homepage. Specifics beat abstractions. and you have good stuff. Show some of your best or most recent content.

    7. Begin link names with the most important keyword

Users scan down the page, trying to find the area that will serve their current goal. Links are the action items on a homepage, and when you start each link with a relevant word. you make it easier for scanning eyes to differentiate it from other links on the page. A common violation of this guideline is to start all links with the company name, which adds little value and impairs users’ ability to find what they need quickly.

    8. Offer easy access to recent homepage features

Users will often remember articles, products, or promotions that were featured prominently on the homepage, but they won’t know how to find them once you move the features inside the site. To help users locate key items, keep a short list of recent features on the homepage, and supplement it with a link to a permanent archive of all other homepage features.

Use Visual Design to Enhance, not Define, Interaction Design

    9. Don’t over-format critical content, such as navigation areas

You might think that important homepage items require elaborate illustrations, boxes, and colors. However, users often dismiss graphics as ads and focus on the parts of the homepage that look more likely to be useful.

    10. Use meaningful graphics

Don’t just decorate the page with stock art. Images are powerful communicators when they show items of interest to users, but they will backfire if they seem frivolous or irrelevant. For example, it’s almost always best to show photos of real people actually connected to the topic. rather than pictures of models.

Your Day Is About To Be Wasted By This Classic Car Search Engine

If you spend inordinate amounts of time trolling through the interwebs to find that perfect car you’ll never own (hi!), life just got simpler. It’s called Tailpipe. and your HR person will not be pleased.

Unlike the scads of shoddy, ugly solutions that scan multiple sites for classified ads (looking at you SearchTempest), Tailpipe gets right to what you want, and manages to make it attractive in the process.

It’s strictly for classics, so if you’re looking for, say, a vintage Range Rover. it scans through Craigslist, eBay Motors, Hemmings, and others to find what you’re after. You can narrow things down by year and price, but location-based searches aren’t baked in yet. However, if you’re regularly searching for one particular unicorn, you can get email updates when a new listing posts. Now if you’ll excuse me.

    Questions About Stryker Hip Replacements

Camden, Sumter, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Columbia, Aiken SC.

Why are Stryker hip replacements being recalled?

According to Stryker Orthopaedics, there is a potential for fretting and corrosion where the parts of these modular Stryker hip replacements come together. Fretting is when the parts aren t completely secure and tiny movements result in wear at the contact surface. Corrosion is when a metal interacts chemically with its surroundings, typically by becoming oxidized. Often this results in the formation of soluble metal ions that can cause local injury, but can also be transported throughout the body.

What Stryker hip replacement models are covered by the recall?

The recall covers only Rejuvenate and ABG II modular systems.

What are the symptoms of Stryker hip implant failure?

The most common symptoms reported by people with defective hip replacements are swelling, pain, and loss of mobility. If you experience these symptoms, you should contact your doctor immediately.

How common are Stryker hip implant failures?

We don t know. When Stryker Orthopaedics sent out its initial communications on this issue, it stated that revision surgery rates were less than one percent. That figure was used as late as May 28, 2012, but it is no longer being used. Instead, Stryker describes the complication rates as extremely low. Although this is intended to sound reassuring, it also tells us they are likely unsure about the actual failure rate.

If Stryker and industry experts were sure the rate would remain extremely low, they might not have initiated this recall, but the concern is that reports of failure may be predictive of a trend of increasing failures.

What health concerns are associated with Stryker hip implant failures?

Stryker Orthopaedics has stated the following concerns about the fretting and/or corrosion of the hip implants:

    • Excessive metal debris may lead to local metal toxicity, tissue death, and pain, resulting in a need for revision surgery
    • Patients may experience an allergic reaction to the metal fragments and need revision surgery
    • Patients may experience bone loss around the implant

However, in addition to these concerns, we know from experience with other hip implants that there is a possibility of systemic metal toxicity, leading to permanent neurological damage. If detected and removed during the early phases, though, few patients will experience this extreme type of heavy metal poisoning.

When should I contact a lawyer about my Stryker hip replacement?

If you have health concerns or are unsure about the type of your hip replacement, you should contact your doctor. If you know you have suffered injury associated with a Stryker hip replacement, you should contact a lawyer. Even if you do not know the full extent of your injury, talking to a lawyer can help you preserve your rights to full compensation for your injury.

What compensation is available for Stryker hip replacement injuries?

We do not know the full extent of compensation, but it will likely include payment for:

    • Medical bills
    • Lost wages
    • Disability and diminished earning capacity
    • Diminished quality of life
    • Pain and suffering

There may also be punitive damages assigned if it is found that Stryker Orthopaedics was grossly negligent or acted inappropriately in response to reports of injury.

Why should I contact McWhirter, Bellinger Associates about my Stryker hip replacement injuries?

    What does RN-BSN mean? (Confused)

3 I’m a high school student who aspires to become a nurse and later on a nurse practitioner. Because of this, I want to get my Bachelor’s first, (not ADN) and then move on from there. I obviously need to do my pre-reqs and all that but I’m confused about the path of becoming a RN.

I’m confused on the meaning of RN-BSN. Does this mean that when you are a registered nurse, you go get your bachelors? That doesn’t make sense to me because I thought you needed your Bachelor’s to become an RN.

I’m graduating high school this year and interested in becoming an RN(hopefully an NP later on in the future) but I’m confused on how to go about this.

I hear some folks say that nursing school IS a 4-year college, but some say that you go to a 4-year school, complete your pre-reqs THEN apply to a nursing school. Which is it?

I know my questions seem pretty simple to some but I really want to try to make the best decisions and take the best routes to help me in my future career.

I went on several websites and they say that this program is for people who already are RN’s. I don’t understand this. I thought if you want your Bachelors, you go to a RN-BSN program?

    RN to BSN: Success Stories

Last edit by Joe V on Feb 15, ’17

The routes of nursing that pertain to your situation and questions:

    1) RN program – usually at a community college or vocational school. Such programs earn you the qualification to sit for an RN license. If at a community college, you probably also earn an associate’s degree at the same time. ASN (Associates of science in nursing). There are also still a few diploma schools out there which are hospital based programs that grant ability to sit for RN licensure. RN programs tend to take 3 years. Either 3 straight years, or 1 year of pre-reqs and 2 years of full-time coursework.

    2) RN-BSN program – through a university. Either 4 years of integrated general education, nursing education or 2 years of pre-reqs/gen ed and then 2 years of nursing education, both ending in a bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of science in nursing BSN) along with qualification to sit for RN licensure.

For those who earned their RN directly, there are programs out there specifically for them to earn a BSN (RN-to-BSN), usually 1-2 years.

You might wonder why one would choose option 1 over option 2 since option two is only one year longer and gets you a bachelor’s as well. One reason might be that community colleges are usually less expensive than universities. Another is that community colleges are more likely to offer part-time coursework or alternate schedules for those working full-time jobs.

Finally, each school has it’s own strengths and weaknesses and each student has their own strengths and weaknesses. One school might be well known for structure and if a student knows they do well with structure they might decide to choose that school. If a local school is well-known for training up confident, competent nurses, someone might choose that one over a big name university with new, unproven nursing program.

Good luck with your schooling decisions!

Thanks to everyone who has replied to this thread. I was in the same state of confusion. I am presently going throtugh a 3 year program to earn an RN, By next year i’ll be an RN here in Nigeria. however i intend coming over to the USA to obtain a Bsc in Nursing.
Can anyone recommend a good University and tell the me the requirement?
    Thanks.

    – I went on severel websites and they say that this program is for people who already are RN’s. I don’t understand this. I thought if you want your Bachelors, you go to a RN-BSN program?

there are programs at 4 year colleges/universities that after 4 years, you are an RN with your BSN.

There are many different means to RN-BSN. 1) An person which has a Bachelors of Science in another field can do what they call and bridge program and become an RN. 2) An LPN which desires to further his/her nursing career and continue their studies instead of starting from the beginning 3) An RN which has either a diploma or Associates degree can obtain her Bachelor’s.
And to answer your other part of your question about what direction to go in Nursing, according to what the profession states when you have and Associate Degree you are just considered a technical nurse and with a Bachelors you are a Professional Nurse . Even though when you get your license it will Registered Professional Nurse. Word to the wise, choose the path that works best for you, do not become stressed out and regardless of a big name school or a community college, we are all taught the same things and are all considered nurse. GOD LUCK. spin:

    About bills of sale

Before you purchase a vehicle, a trailer, a boat, a snowmobile or an ATV, make sure that you can receive acceptable proof of ownership. If you don’t have acceptable proof, you can have difficulties when go to you register the vehicle, or get a title certificate or transferable registration in your name.

Proof of ownership normally includes a bill of sale (in addition to a ‘Retail Certificate of Sale’ (MV-50) if purchased from a dealer, or a ‘Certificate of Title’ (MV-999) for private sales). The seller and the buyer complete the bill of sale. The DMV does not provide a form for a bill of sale.

What information is included on a bill of sale?

An acceptable bill of sale includes all of this information

    • year and make of the vehicle, boat or ATV
    • vehicle identification number (VIN) or the hull identification number (HIN)
    • date of the sale
    • purchase price
    • names and signatures of the buyer and the seller

The buyer and seller can make photocopies of the bill of sale to keep in their records. The new owner must give the original bill of sale to the DMV with the other required proofs of ownership. A bill of sale is not an acceptable proof of ownership without other proofs .

I received the vehicle as a gift.  Do I need a bill of sale?

Yes you do. If the vehicle is transferred as a gift, indicate this on the bill of sale and indicate that the purchase price is ‘$0.’ You must also indicate the vehicle is a gift on a Statement of Transaction (DTF-802).

Where can I find more information?

Bob Story’s Automotive Paint Frequently-Asked Questions

For more information about this faq, please contact Bob Story at bob.story at gmail dot com

Please check that your question is not answered before asking me a question. Thanks.

    FAQ Revised: Saturday 01 December 2001 13:14:06

    Table of Contents

    1. Adjusting Paint Gun

1.1. How do you properly adjust a standard spray gun? I’m assuming a conventional suction feed spray gun. An HVLP is a little different. Set your air pressure first. The gauge at the gun should read approximately 55 lbs with the trigger pulled far enough to allow air and not fluid. Point the gun at a piece of masking paper, and pull the trigger a bit further to allow fluid. The pattern should be convex, with slightly more paint in the center than the edges (I’m going to have to put some pictures on my page since this is a commonly asked question). The idea is with a 1/2 overlap, to evenly distribute the material.

    2. Aerosol

    3. Air Pressure

3.1. I have read your recommendation for a compressor that will put out 20 cfm at 90 pounds of pressure and don’t quite understand why such a large compressor since I have so far not found a spray gun that calls for more than 10 cfm. Can you explain the recommendation for a 20cfm compressor more? Theory and practice are like apples and oranges. Does a compressor really put out it’s rated delivery, and does a paint gun really require only 10cfm? Or does it meet VOC requirements if you spray at 10cfm? I’ve been spraying paint for a long time, more than twenty years, so I suppose I’m just asking you to take my word for it.

    4. Air-brushing

4.1. Can these same tips be applied to air-brushing? I am trying to air-brush designs on my motorcycle. Please let me know. I generally use acrylic enamel (uncatalyzed and reduced to a very thin viscosity) for air brush work, although I admit I don’t do much of it anymore. It might be a good idea to get your base color finished with a urethane clear coat so you have a nice base to work with. After you are happy with your design, clear over the acrylic enamel with the same urethane clear. It sort of goes against the rules, since uncatalyzed acrylic enamel SHOULD wrinkle when clear is applied over it, but maybe because it is so thin it doesn’t (or at least it hasn’t for me). Lacquers dry too quickly and plug up on the tip of the air brush, and catalyzed paint cannot be stored. Acrylic enamels are cheap, and you’ll only need a few basic (bright)colors to tint with blue red yellow black and white to give you all the colors. Oh yes, one last thing, don’t buy tinting colors, buy mixed colors. The tinting colors don’t have driers added and may not work properly.

    5. Antique

5.1. I have a 1928 Model 72 Chrysler that requires painting. I understand the present paint is Duco. Can I obtain this type of black paint? Duco is Duponts old lacquer system. It is very inferior to their current line of paint products, so unless you absolutely insist on original paint, use the newer urethanes.

    6. Application

    7. Automotive Paint

7.1. WHAT TYPE OF PAINTS ARE USED ON AUTOMOBILES? Japanese Varnish: In the early years, between 1900 and the 1920’s, Japanese varnishes were used. The varnish was applied by brush. Nitrocellulose Lacquer: in the 1920’s, several paint manufacturers were involved in the development of nitrocellulose lacquers. This paint had rapid drying and low viscosity properties, and was applied with air pressure through a spray gun leaving a hard dry finish in approximately one hour. When rubbed, polished, and waxed, it far surpassed in durability and appearance the qualities of the Japanese lacquers. Synthetic Enamel: In the mid 1930’s, a new and completely different type of paint was developed, the alkyd or synthetic enamels. It proved to have superior qualities in film strength, adhesion, luster, flexibility and durability over all previous paints. The resin base was developed from the reaction between phthalic anhydride and glycerin, with gums, oils and plasticizers added during the manufacturing process a drying oil such as linseed, a polyhydric alcohol, such as glycerine, and a dibasic acid, such as Phthalic Anhydride. It dries by solvent evaporation, like the lacquer paints, but the resin remains soft and sticky when no solvents are present. It cures to a hard finish by absorption of oxygen from the air. The curing process can be accelerated by heat, and several methods of baking enamel were developed. Unlike lacquer, when dry, it needs no polishing to produce a high luster finish. Acrylic Lacquer: As time passed, chemists developed a substitute for nitrocellulose lacquer, using an acrylic resin as a base. The resins used in acrylic lacquer tend to be slightly brittle. This deficiency is overcome by the use of a plasticizer ( a liquid that is a solvent for these resins and softens them slightly). A cellulosic resin is any resin derived from cellulose (pure cotton). Acrylic lacquer was used extensively by General Motors. Acrylic Enamel: During the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, technology brought on the development of acrylic enamel, which was harder and more durable. Chemically, it is a cousin to synthetic enamel, but is modified with acrylic resin, and is not soft and sticky with no solvents present. It cures further with the absorption of oxygen from the air. Unlike the lacquers, which remain soluble in solvents, the enamel family is insoluble in solvent when cured. An acrylic resin is chemically any polymer whose basic monomers are chemical derivatives of acrylic acid. Polyurethane Enamel: In the mid 1970’s, polyurethane enamel was developed to withstand the severe stress of high speed airplane surfaces, which are subject to rapid temperature changes and flexing. This paint was much more durable than the acrylic enamels. Acrylic Urethane Enamel: Acrylic urethane enamels were developed to withstand environmental elements, such as acid rain and ultra violet rays. It is the most durable paint to date.

    8. Bare Metal

8.3. WHAT DO I APPLY OVER BARE METAL? Use a zinc chromate primer which is essentially a metal treatment. Follow this with a good quality primer surfacer (a brand name that requires a catalyst (urethane or epoxy)). All the major manufacturers use a form of a seven stage process before priming.1. Hot detergent wash to remove grease and oils. 2. Water rinse to remove the detergent, since the detergent interferes with acid. 3. Acid wash to remove scale and open pores in metal. 4. Water rinse to remove acid. 5. Zinc phosphate acid treatment for corrosion protection and paint adhesion. 6. Water rinse to remove acid. 7. Bake dry. This is followed by a primer coat of melamine polyester resin (Japan), polybutadiene (Europe), or a polyester or epoxy ester system (USA).

    9. Base Coat Re-coat Window

9.1. After spraying a base coat do I really only have 30-45 min. to spray the clear coat? No, you can apply the clear much later if you like. There seems to be a difference of opinion on the maximum time frame; I’ve heard anything from 72 hours to infinity. I asked the Dupont techs on their tech line, and they don’t seem to know either, and it isn’t listed in the technical manual. I’ve done it three days later with no apparent ill effects.

    10. Base Coat Sand-ability

10.1. How come you can’t sand a base coat in a BC/CC combination if there are imperfections? You can. I usually go over the base coat quite carefully before I clear, and fix any imperfections. You should use very fine paper.

    11. Bird Droppings

    14. Brain damage

    15. Brand Names

15.1. WHAT BRAND OF PAINT SHOULD I USE FOR MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT SPRAY PAINTING? All major brands of paint perform well and it is not my intent to recommend any one particular brand. However, certain paints are better for the first time painter, although they may have inferior qualities in other areas. A novice or first time painter might try Dupont acrylic enamel (Centari ™). It is one of the most forgiving paints, as it dries quickly, melts in over-spray well, and does not run easily. These positive features outweigh the negative effects of quick dry times, which are mentioned elsewhere in this FAQ. I don’t know if they still make it, but Deltron(tm) by PPG is also an excellent product for a first time attempt.

    16. Brush Painting

16.1. I’ve read that automotive paint can also be applied with a brush and with good results. Do you have any experience with this approach. Can it possibly yield OK results ? No. A professional spray gun is an expensive precision tool. With today’s mica’s and pearls, the finish has to be finer than 320 grit, or the particles will not orient themselves correctly. The paint gun has to provide a fine, even mist to enable the correct transfer of material which may be less than 1 mil (one thousands of an inch) thick for some base coats. As for applying these coatings correctly with a paint brush there would be a better chance that a random collection of atoms in outer space could gather together to form a Nike running shoe.

    17. Budget work

17.1. I know this is kind of like blasphemy within the professional auto painting industry, but what do you think of Maaco’s jobs? I know you all say “you get what you pay for”, was wondering if you could qualify this with respect to Maaco. I have never dealt with them, but I’m sure they provide a good budget service. Most shop rates here are close to $50.00 an hour, so divide that by the cost and you get how much time they can spend on your car and still show a profit. No one should expect a complete restoration for a budget price.

    Hello Nkoli,
These bad schools are still running their programs with the problems they have. I was lucky to find out early before paying any money to them. Right now i am schooling in a community college. One of the schools is on Fairground street in cobb county, can’t remember the name, the other is World Outreach. with 2 branches, one in Atlanta and the other on Austell rd, cobb county. Maybe they have fixed whatever the problems were but i am not ready for risks.

I asked my friend. we know about the school on fairground street. it’s bad. we haven’t heard of world outreach. The school my friend is thinking about going to says tht clinicals are done in jamaica. have you heard of any schools like that in atl? my friend says she found out about the school from her cousin in decatur. it just seems really wierd that someone would study here and then go all way to jamaica for clincial. anyway, let me know if you know of any of those schools.

World Outreach Medical Institute is affiliated to a school in Jamaica, another one in downtown Atlanta is also affiliated to a school in Jamaica. I have concluded that it is better to go to a regular school and do all the pre-reqs and get an admission for Nursing. I am doing the pre-reqs and they are not as bad as i thought, i am actually acing them, tell your friend to give it a try instead of losing money with such private schools.

I called Work Outreach and they said they are not affiliated to any school in Jamaica. How do you know that they are? What is the name of the school downtown?

Meaningful Use of Electronic Health Records

Cancer reporting from ambulatory providers to state cancer registries is a new public health objective for Stage 2 Meaningful Use.

    Meaningful Use Overview

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, enacted in February 2009, includes many measures to modernize our nation’s infrastructure, one of which is the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act. The HITECH Act supports the concept of electronic health records-meaningful use (EHR-MU), an effort led by the Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC). HITECH proposes the meaningful use of interoperable electronic health records throughout the United States’ health care delivery system as a critical national goal.

CMS establishes the criteria that eligible professionals (EPs) and hospitals as well as critical access hospitals must meet to qualify for Medicare and/or Medicaid electronic health record (EHR) incentive payments as they adopt, implement, upgrade, or demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology. ONC establishes the standards, implementation specifications, and certification criteria for EHR technology that will support implementation of the Stage 2 criteria described by CMS. The criteria and standards for Stage 2 Meaningful Use Final Rules released by the ONC and CMS were published in the Federal Register on September 4, 2012.

More information on meaningful use and public health can be found on CDC’s Meaningful Use Web site.

    Cancer and Meaningful Use

    • Outlines the EP objective, measure, and exclusions for reporting to a state cancer registry.
    • Table B5 summarizes the Stage 2 objectives and measures.
    • Table 8 provides clinical quality measures, including several for cancer.

The ONC Stage 2 Meaningful Use Final Rule addresses the cancer registry reporting standards. ONC adopted the Implementation Guide for Ambulatory Healthcare Provider Reporting to Central Cancer Registries, August 2012 [PDF-1.9MB] to certify that EHR systems meet the criteria described in the Stage 2 Meaningful Use Final Rule.

ONC has released a new Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for Voluntary 2015 Edition EHR Certification Criteria. This notice of proposed rulemaking introduces the beginning of the ONC’s more frequent approach to health information technology certification regulations. The 2015 Edition EHR certification criteria proposed in this rule would be voluntary. In conjunction with this new proposed rule, CDC has issued an updated implementation guide, Implementation Guide for Ambulatory Healthcare Provider Reporting to Central Cancer Registries, HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA), Release 1.1, March 2014 [PDF-2.0MB], that addresses technical corrections and clarifications for interoperability with EHRs and cancer registries.

Additional documentation and clarifications can be found in Cancer Reporting Clarification Document for Electronic Health Record (EHR) Technology Certification [PDF-832KB] .

    Cancer Reporting

Population-based cancer surveillance is critical for cancer control activities aimed at reducing cancer morbidity and mortality, the second leading cause of death in the United States and the leading cause of death in Canada. Population-based public health central cancer registries (CCRs) across the U.S. and most of Canada are mandated to collect complete and timely cancer diagnostic, treatment, and outcome data from hospitals, physician offices, treatment centers, clinics, laboratories, and other sources. Recent shifts from hospital settings toward ambulatory health care settings for cancer treatment are increasing the importance of non-hospital health care providers’ data for cancer surveillance. As health care providers adopt modern EHR systems, the opportunity to automate cancer registry reporting from health care provider settings also is increasing and becoming more feasible. Certified EHR technology can improve the process by identifying reportable cancer cases and treatments to the provider and facilitating electronic reporting either automatically or upon provider verification.

Through a collaborative effort with the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries, state CCRs, Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise, and other organizations, CDC developed the Implementation Guide for Healthcare Provider Reporting to Central Cancer Registries. This document contains the necessary specifications for the implementation of standardized data transmissions from a health care provider EHR to the CCR. A single method will allow efficient and accurate transmission of cancer information while reducing the burden on EHR system-specific or registry-specific implementations.

The Implementation Guide provides the business rules and specifications for EHR systems to—

    • Identify reportable cancer cases.
    • Identify the specific data elements to be retrieved and included in the cancer event report.
    • Create a valid Health Level 7 Clinical Document Architecture, Release 2 (HL7 CDA R2) cancer event report.
    • Transmit the cancer event report to a CCR over a secure electronic transmission mechanism.

What You Need To Know About A Short Term, 3 Month Car Lease

People choose to lease a car for many reasons, such as traveling for work or for personal use. If you need a car short-term, such as a 3 month car lease, there are several things to consider.

Short term car lease offers can be hard to come by, generally a dealer will prefer to lease a car for a standard lease term of 24 month or more. Because of this, any available short-term lease deals will usually have much higher monthly costs when compared to a typical lease.

Here are a few things to know about short-term leases and lease take overs. Keep the following in mind, should you lease a new car and want to transfer the lease to another person:

    • Leasing a car for shorter periods of time, such as a 3 month lease, most often means you’ll end up renting – which can be more costly versus a long-term lease. It may work out cheaper to just lease a car for a standard lease term, find out what deals are available in your area by requesting your free, no obligation lease price quote .
  • A lease takeover or assumption means you’ll assume complete responsibility for monthly payments – driving the car for the rest of the lease term and returning it to the dealership/financing agency. Often this is not a favorable deal, because the monthly payments will be too expensive.
  • The downside to assuming a lease is that the car you’re leasing is no longer brand new. Depending on the driving habits of the previous driver, you could end up with a poorly maintained car – possibly even paying extra for wear and tear, or mileage fees at the end of the lease term.

  • 3 Month Lease Deals are Hard To Come By- Find Standard Lease Deals Near You!

    • The first thing to do is determine the type of car that will meet your needs and priorities. By evaluating what is most important to you in a car, you’ll be able to select the style to best meet your needs.
  • Request a free, no obligation lease price quote to see the short-term lease specials being offered by local dealerships. You will be able to see which dealerships in your area will offer you special incentives on standard leases that could work out cheaper than a 3 month lease.
  • Think about the total leasing costs for the lease term. Estimate anticipated gas mileage, insurance and leasing fees. Evaluate the rates for different classes of cars – it’s possibly a different class will give you a lower overall cost.
  • Request a free new car lease quote now to find the best lease deals in your area, you’ll be surprised at the offers that could work out to being better than a 3 month leasing offer. Learn everything you need to know, so you can negotiate with confidence for the best car lease price possible.

The Truth About No Credit Check Auto Loans #reliable #auto #transport

Are No Credit Check Auto Loans Helpful?

Getting approved for financing is difficult enough, and applying for no credit check auto loans only gets more difficult. That is why we here at AutoNet Financial want to help you acquire a car loan with no credit checks required from you on your application.

Get Approved for No Credit Check Financing

You can get approved for financing cars with no credit easily, and be on your way to buying a great vehicle for yourself. Many online auto finance companies have options for people with any type of credit. A bad credit auto financing is not going to score you the best deal but they will get you into a vehicle to keep you mobile.

Typical no credit financing requirements are as follows.

    • Holding same job for over a year
    • Earn minimum $1,800/mo
    • Legal Citizen of the U.S. or Canada
    • No Auto Repossessions in Past Year (unless included in bankruptcy)
    • Not Looking to Purchase from Private Party

Financing a Used Car Loan with No Credit

The current auto loan rates that you commonly see advertised are typically for those with near perfect credit. Although you still can be approved, having a less than perfect credit history will not qualify you for these rates when trying to finance a vehicle with no credit checks on a new or used car. But if you can stay on schedule with your regular payments, later on down the road you may choose to refinance your no credit check auto loan for a better interest rate.

Be sure to check each vehicles history before putting anything in writing. This goes with every used car purchase, but especially for those purchased with no credit auto loans from banks. Most commonly people will only look at carfax report to determine the previous quality of the maintenance preformed on a vehicle. While a vehicle history report is a good starting block, not every repair shop and insurance companies report to them. It is best to take the vehicle to an ASE certified mechanic before signing the dotted line.

Applying online is one of the easiest and quickest ways to get approved for auto financing with no credit check.

A super solution for business over a barrel

Since 1996, Innovative Tools Technologies has dedicated its resources to helping customers be more efficient, productive – and profitable – with its uniquely designed and virtually indestructible work and parts management systems. The company evolved out of necessity. Founder Bryan Johnson, an auto body technician for more than 21 years, was literally over a barrel, as was the rest of the auto body repair industry.

At that time, plastic bumper covers were placed over trash barrels for painting, baking and curing, and the end result was often “trash:” uneven paint coverage, unpredictable texture and distorted shape. Not to mention the tedious set-up process. There had to be a better way to support and secure bumpers during the repair and paint process, and Bryan created it: the SuperStand.

Not only did the SuperStand take bumper quality to the next level, it saved at least half an hour of labor per bumper, paying for itself in less than a month. Bryan’s colleagues saw the system and had to have it. Other shops heard about the super-star bumper stand and ordered it.

Managing work and parts in multiple markets worldwide

Soon, Bryan quit his day job in order to meet demand and develop other products to solve customer workflow and parts management challenges. Once again, word spread about the company’s workhorse products, and Innovative entered the aviation, material handling and home markets with the promise of enhanced productivity and quality output at a fair price.

Today, more than 275,000 Innovative products are in use throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Asia, and Innovative’s customers range from small shops to huge corporations to home handymen. These customers sum up Innovative products’ appeal: “Problem solved,” “Cool products” and “I couldn’t imagine operating without them.”

    HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

The year was 1907 and many thought that the horse and buggy would continue to be the way to travel. One notable exception was a young farm implement salesman of exceptional ability and bold vision. His name was Guy S. Garber, and he saw the automobile as the vehicle to the future.

Growing up in the Lansing area, his reputation as a salesman brought him to the attention of William C. Durant, founder of General Motors. At his urging, Guy Garber became a factory representative for Buick Motor Division. During his first six months he established one dealership, in Battle Creek Michigan. His responsibility was the management of the day to day operations.

His success there brought him to take on a greater challenge, coming to Saginaw in 1910 representing Buick. This was to become the key to his success with Buick and General Motors. lasting a lifetime. Guy Garber shared the vision of the GM founder. America was headed for a golden automotive era.

Guy Garber’s long and productive affiliation with GM lasted nearly 60 years, through the great depression and two world wars. During that time Garber married Hazel Denyes and began a family which would eventually number four sons and two daughters; Jack, Maxine, Richard, Guy Jr. (Ike), Jane and Robert.

As the oldest family-owned Buick dealership in the United States, the Garbers have always conducted a unique relationship with GM’s Buick Motor Division. In its early years Garber Buick Company became a GM model for salesmanship, efficiency and service to the customer.

Years ago it was written that Guy S. Garber has but one hobby and that is service. “He lives service, breathes service and practices service. His predominant business policy is to render such uniformly satisfying service that there shall not be a single dissatisfied Buick owner in the 30 counties comprising his territory.” Said Guy S. Garber, “Service does not mean something for nothing, but it does mean prompt, efficient and courteous attention at a fair price.” This founding business philosophy thrives today in the mission statement for Garber Automotive Group.

When automotive pioneer Guy S. Garber died on December 5, 1965 at the age of 81, Michigan’s first Buick distributorship became the nation’s last Buick distributorship. An important piece of automotive history had passed away.

Richard Garber, Sr. son of Guy Garber, who had been actively managing Garber Buick Company, became president and owner until his death in 1972. Like his father, Richard was a civic leader in every sense of the word.

Richard Garber was succeeded by Norman F. Geyer as president. Norm Geyer was married to Maxine Garber and was a son-in-law to Guy Garber. He was a dedicated, honest, and respected individual with high values. With over 25 years of experience with the organization, the majority as service director, Norm was knowledgeable in all aspects of the dealership operation. As president, he successfully guided the Buick store for eight years, during the trying times of the 1970’s, until he passed the torch to Richard J. Garber Jr. in 1980. 60177|2751

Richard J. Garber, Jr. was the third generation to take the helm of the company in its 73rd year of operation. When he became president, he was the youngest Buick dealer for a dealership of its size in the nation. Since that time the organization has grown to 13 dealerships located in four states, Michigan, Florida, Illinois and New York.

The organization today is a long way from the 1907 version, but important traditions live on: dedication to service, a loyal staff and a forward-looking vision. One that echoes in the spirit of a young farm implement salesman who took thousands of mid-Michigan area residents out of the buggy and put them behind the wheel.

    • At least a 36 month repayment term, repayable in installments;

    Consumer Complaints Reviews

We went to this dealer because of the prices. Because it was our first car, we didn’t know any better. They refused to disclose to us that the vehicle that we purchased has an R title, or salvaged title. And they refused to show us the physical title, saying it had already been sent to the bank, which we came to find out was a lie. It had been in three accidents and the ‘report’ on the vin number that we were given, by frank, showed a clean title. When they bought our car from the salvage yard and had the work done by their own, it was a complete and total hack job and the electrical work wasn’t done properly either.

We purchased it without any airbags at all, which frank told us was just a glitchy sensor. Thank Jesus I got, in writing, that they would cover THAT. The rims were corroded beyond repair, which frank also told us that it would not affect the drive of the car. Not only were they dishonest, but they illegally sold the car. They did not obtain ownership of the vehicle before they sold it. We couldn’t get the vehicle registered in our state until three months after we had been driving it because they didn’t have the title, nor knew where it was or who had it. Not only all of this, but instead of checking my credit once, they authorized, fraudulently on my behalf, at least 7 different hard credit checks.

We have had nothing but trouble contacting them after the sale, even to get the title! And the car has been in the shop of the 4 months that we’ve had it, at least two months. And we’ve put far far more into it than what it’s worth, even brand new. Never ever again will I step foot on their lot or recommend anybody go there. I just feel sorry for anyone who reads this that has already been there and purchased a vehicle from them. I really hope they start reading into the law because we had more than enough evidence to get out of our loan, return the car (if they drove 6 hours to pick it up), and get all of our money back, plus reimbursement for time, money, and aggravation after the fact. If we had the time and money for court, I would’ve. We’re just paying it off and distancing ourselves as far as possible from that joke of a dealership. Good riddance to anyone who gives them any of their time and money in the future.

    Consumer Complaints Reviews

I had just come out of a messy divorce, my credit was not great, not horrible but I didn’t have a ton of money for a down payment. They approved me for a $10,000 loan. I make my payments on time, often paying extra, my goal was to rebuild myself. So 2 1/2 years into my 4-year loan my job is sent to India. I am between jobs for all of 3 weeks then when I start the new job I have to wait 2 weeks for my first paycheck. My payment for the FIRST time ever is 3 weeks late, they charge off my loan! It goes to their collections department. I owe about $1700 on the loan at this point. They tell me that I can make 4 monthly payments of $400 and change to pay it off. I agree, I just want it gone. So I make my 4 monthly payments, they auto deduct them from my bank account.

I, Stephanie **, am writing to Consumer Affairs to complain about the harassment that I have received from National Auto Finance in regards to my car loan. The following has occurred.

Over the years, I have spoken to several supervisors to complain and to ask for assistance. However, based on the reoccurrence of these behaviors, nothing has been done. It appears to be a systemic problem within the company. By writing to Consumer Affairs, I hope other consumers/citizens will become aware of the damaging, inappropriate, unlawful, and threatening practices that National Auto Finance/Nuvell perpetuates.

The 5 Most Common Myths About Rebates

    Consumer advocate, former car salesman

Rebates for new cars and trucks are bigger than ever. And unfortunately, so are the confusion and misconceptions about them. To make matters worse, it’s common for some dealerships and car salesmen to purposely mislead you about how rebates work. Well, fear not. Let’s dispel, once and for all, the five common myths about factory-to-customer rebates:

    MYTH 1:

Rebates are a bad deal because there is always a catch.

Not true. There is no catch to factory-to-consumer rebates. A rebate is simply free money given to you by the automobile manufacturer as an incentive to buy that particular car. So take the money and smile.

    MYTH 2:

Rebates are part of the dealership’s discount.

Despite what an unscrupulous car salesman or Sales Manager may tell you, factory-to-customer rebates are NOT part of the dealership’s discount. Rebates are simply free money given to you by the factory and should not be confused with the negotiated selling price. Be sure that you make clear to the salesman when you are negotiating the price of your new car or truck that the rebate is yours to keep and that the negotiations have nothing to do with the rebate.

    MYTH 3:

Rebates are always paid in cold cash.

You have a choice here. You can take the rebate as cash if you wish, in which case the automobile manufacturer will mail you a check. But most folks simply apply the rebate to their down payment and never see the cash. For example, if you applied $1,000 of your own cash plus a $500 rebate to your down payment, your down payment (in most states) would appear in the paperwork as $1,500. In fact, that’s the best option if you plan on financing – and particularly if you don’t have much money to put down. Insiders Tip: If you are short of cash, look for vehicles with big rebates. It’s possible to buy a new car with NO cash simply by using the rebate as your down payment. And there’s sometimes one more option: many automobile manufacturers offer special financing instead of a rebate. That can save you lots of money on financing costs. (See “A Word About Special Financing” below for more info.)

    MYTH 4:

Rebates are always subtracted from the negotiated selling price.

Car salesmen (and dealership ads) sometimes infer that the rebate is automatically subtracted from the purchase price “You can buy this $19,000 car for only $18,000 after the $1,000 rebate!” These claims can be misleading. More to the point, they may actually be untrue. In most states, the rebate is considered part of your down payment. If so, the way it works is this: first the dealership adds up the negotiated purchase price, applicable taxes, license fees, doc fees, etc. into a grand total. THEN they subtract the down payment – including the rebate – from that total price. That’s the legal manner in which rebates are handled in most states. NOTE: In some states, the rebate may, indeed, legally be subtracted from the selling price of the vehicle before taxes are added in. Be sure to ask your car salesman about the laws concerning rebates in your state.

    MYTH 5:

All rebates are the same nationwide.

Automobile manufacturers can, at any time, access their computers’ databases and instantly know how many vehicles there are “on the ground” (sitting for sale on the dealerships’ lots) across the nation. If there are too many vehicles of a particular model in a particular region, the manufacturer may offer a rebate to consumers as an incentive to buy those cars and get them off the dealerships’ lots. Because the inventory of vehicles varies from region to region and month to month, rebates can also vary from region to region and month to month.

    A Word About “Special Financing”

Some auto manufacturers may offer you a choice of taking special low financing (with interest rates sometimes as low as 0%) instead of a rebate. Which is better? If you are short of cash, you’ll probably want to take the rebate and use it for your down payment. If you have ample cash on hand for your down payment, the special financing may be the way to go — you could end up saving hundreds or even thousands of dollars in interest costs over the course of your loan.
