If you’ve come here looking for a used or certified pre-owned car, truck, SUV, crossover, hatchback, hybrid or convertible, then you’re in the right place. Edmunds has everything you need to know about buying or selling a used vehicle, including Carfax vehicle history reports, dealership listings and pricing information, expert car reviews, consumer car reviews, car dealership reviews, car price comparisons, car appraisal calculators, images and videos, technical features and specs, user forums and more.
At Edmunds, you’ll be able to browse thousands of used cars, trucks and SUVs for sale with special offers, appraise your current car, and research the car, SUV or truck of your dreams. You can limit your search to certified pre-owned (or CPO) vehicles for sale and be a click away from articles by our experts that will give you the best car shopping and buying tips and advice. Let’s take a closer look at each of these aids to easier used-car shopping.
The INVENTORY tab at the top of the page allows you to browse used cars for sale from popular makes such as Ford, Honda, Toyota, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Infiniti, Acura and Subaru. The inventory tool allows you to cast a much wider net than simply visiting your local dealership’s website. Start with the make and model of the vehicle that you’re interested in. You’ll have the option to refine your search by price, distance, model year and mileage. If you’re looking for specific options or features, a certain trim level or a specific color, there are more advanced search filters available, including engine type, fuel type, drivetrain, powertrain, airbags, air-conditioning and much more. After you find the car, SUV, truck or hybrid that you’re interested in, select the listing to check out the VIN details page for that vehicle and get more information. There you’ll find a description of the vehicle from the dealer, vehicle features and options, contact information for that dealership, dealer reviews, a ballpark insurance estimate, and a link to see a Carfax vehicle history report.
The APPRAISE tab at the top of the page lets you enter your car’s basic information, odometer reading, trim level, and overall condition. Then Edmunds provides you with the True Market Value (TMV) for your used car or vehicle. Edmunds’s True Market Value or used car value is is a great starting point for negotiation of a used-car sale between a private buyer and seller. This is an “as is” value that does not include any warranties. The final sales price depends on the car’s actual condition and local market factors. You can use this used car value estimate to price your car for sale or to negotiate a trade-in for a new, CPO, or previously owned car for sale from a local dealer. The used car value estimate is also useful for assessing retail pricing at a car dealer. You can try it out by clicking the “APPRAISE” tab, above. Once you enter your vehicle details, you will receive three estimates for your used car’s value: “Trade-in” is what you can expect a dealer to offer you for your used car; “Private Party” is what you might expect to earn if you sold the pre-owned vehicle yourself; and “Dealer Retail” is what you might expect to pay if you were buying this used model used at a dealership. If the vehicle is new enough, you’ll also see a price that says “Certified Used Price.” This price estimates what the dealership might sell it for as a certified pre-owned vehicle.
The RESEARCH tab points you to our expert analysis of the make and model of the car you select. You can read our editors’ reviews and learn about each generation of the vehicle you’re interested in. From there, you can narrow the focus of your car buying research by selecting a particular model year and learning more by checking out photos of the cars, researching local dealership listings, car valuation, consumer reviews, editors’ reviews, pros & cons, features & specs, and safety information. That’s a world of information. And we’ve put it all right at your fingertips.
Are you thinking about trading in your vehicle at the dealership or selling it yourself? Find out what your used car is worth with our True Market Value appraisal tool. Enter the year, make and model to get started. Make sure you know the options on your vehicle and the current odometer reading. Be honest about the condition level. Most cars will fall in the “average” to “clean” range.
The appraisal tool will give you three prices: “Trade-in” is what you can expect a dealer to offer you. “Private Party” is what you might expect to earn if you sold the vehicle yourself. “Dealer Retail” is what you might expect to pay if you were buying this model used at a dealership. If the vehicle is new enough, you’ll also see a price that says “Certified Used Price.” This price estimates what the dealer might sell it for as a CPO vehicle.
If you are hesitant about buying a traditional used car, you may want to consider a certified pre-owned vehicle. These vehicles tend to be newer, have gone through a more detailed inspection process and come with a limited warranty. The Edmunds inventory tool will have an option to sort the list to show only CPO vehicles. You can also go directly to the CPO cars page.
Explore Car-Buying Articles: If you’re unsure about the next steps in buying a used car — or car buying in general — Edmunds has research articles that can help. Take a look at those we’ve linked to on this page, or visit our research main page for a full list of articles that have been written by Edmunds car-shopping experts.

Transportrankings.com serves as a repository in providing information about auto transport companies that solely operate in the United States. Our host is primarily designed to serve as a guide aiming to help people explore the entire auto transport information right from Company name, Address, Phone number, email id, Whether they are broker or carrier, Licensed or not, Number of reviews, Number of ratings, Number of votes, Company license details, Company questionnaire, etc. We intend providing solution to your entire auto transport search. Our information index will surely help you to pick the right auto haulers.
How Do We Rank
We frequently update the reports on nationwide auto transport rankings, best auto transport broker companies and best auto carrier companies to help people take the right decision in selecting the best auto haulers. The criteria for ranking the companies are purely based on the performance of the company, number of user reviews and complying with our evaluation criteria.
The authorized companies that hold original license and documents are only considered for our ranking index. If the company provides any additional services or changes in existing program, those updates will be immediately tracked and recorded and evaluation priority for that particular company will be revised based on the positive impacts.
There exist many ways to pick the right transport companies and one among them is reviews. Reviews help in exposing the company’s true customer service feedbacks, novelty and help to get idea about the trueness of the hauler whether they took charge in resolving the issues of the customers.
Our reviews are accurate and trustworthy. Extensive screening has been done for every submitted review. We solely track the source of reviews in making it sure no single person posts multiple reviews. Reviews posted from same IP address are also literally removed and we don’t account those kinds of feedbacks. List of companies have been prioritized based on genuine customer reviews. Make use of our efforts in unearthing you the best hauler!
When any company signs up for evaluation they are directed to fill the company questionnaire which is an important part in boosting up the score of an auto hauling company. The company questionnaire is a pre- configured query set where the auto transporters have to fill the necessary details such as number of employees, number of operated vehicle, branches operated by the company, routes covered, customer retention area, number of customers per year and lot more.
Transport rankings own a complete set of database about auto transport companies where you can use that in multiple ways for reaping benefits. Apart posing as the largest catalog of auto transport companies we also help fetch competitive quotes from hauling companies through our exotic TRS quotes program.
You are facilitated to get instant estimates from various auto transport companies on enrolling in this program and even can receive sample quotes before you plan a move. To get instant estimates from trucking companies, all you need to do is just to fill the TRS quote form which drives your request to reach multiple auto transport companies. Quote estimates will be generated from the concerned companies providing you an ample space to grab comparatively the best deal.
We create space to explore auto transport deals rather making compromises with the offered quotes.
Our site has BBB information, FMCSA – DOT data, phone numbers and other information what customers are looking for. The additional information such as how to notify the difference in the handling process of the carriers/ brokers, packing and moving tips, documents to be checked before making your move, where to compliant in case met with fake services, how to plan shipping process, etc are provided in our site.

The SaferSys.org web site is an excellent starting point for verifying the validity of a transport company. Although you may not find out everything you need to know about a company at SaferSys, one thing is certain. if you cannot find the company in question, you better do some very serious investigating before hiring them. Whenever you are considering an auto transport company, you should always ask for their authority and insurance. Authority comes in the form of either an ICCMC# (Interstate Commerce Commission Motor Carrier Number) or US DOT (US Department of Transportation). As long as you have one of these numbers, you can research both the company and their insurance. However, the Safer System is not always accurate on insurance, and the only way to know what a carrier has for sure is to either get a copy of the insurance information from the company, or find out the name of the insurance company and call them directly to verify.

Some people say skip the body shop all together. But is that a good idea?
If you re like thousands of other Oklahomans who suffered hail damage from the recent storm, you might have thought to yourself. Can you save a few bucks on repairs? Well we decided to find out if there are really any cheap and effective do it yourself repair methods.
A simple Google search for hail damage returns dozens of result for “do it yourself” repairs. Some reviews say they work, others say no way.
So we grabbed the dry ice, compressed air, a hair dryer, the “Pops-a-dent” kit, and, of course, the damaged car to test them on.
First up is the “Pops-a-dent.” The directions say apply a generous amount of hot glue, attach the pad to the car and wait.
In the meantime, we moved on some other suggestions. The guy in an instruction video says to heat up the area around the dent with a hair dryer until it s hot to the touch, and then put the dry ice over the dent. It s supposed to force the metal to contract and dent pops out, or not.
It turns out the dent is still there.
With that, we tried the compressed air after heating up the dented area, which is supposed to have the same effect, but no luck.
Eight-minutes later and the “Pops-a-dent” is ready. It popped, but the dent is still there.
We couldn t get any of these methods to work, but several of our viewers told us on Facebook it can work.
Some of these techniques might work better on bigger dents, so feel free to try them. But judging by the amount of dents this recent hail storm left behind, it might just be worth it to take it to the body shop.
So if you do take your car to a repair shop, there are a few things you want to keep in mind. Ask people you know to recommend a good place, never pay up front and check the company s Better Business Bureau grade.

Let’s say you’ve made a few late payments on your bills. Perhaps you have a maxed-out credit card. Or maybe you bought more car than you actually needed and couldn’t keep up with the payments. Hey, it happens. But now it’s time to buy another car and you have serious doubts as to whether you’ll get approved for a loan.
A few years ago, we tested the theory of buying a debt-free car as an alternative to buying at a used-car lot or a “buy here, pay here” dealership. We concluded that for some, the maintenance and repairs may prove too much for people to handle.
Buying a new car outright won’t reestablish your credit. You’ll need to take out a loan for that. But what options do you have? The “buy here, pay here” dealerships might be one alternative, but not all of them report your payment progress to the credit bureaus. Plus, you’re still buying a used car that may require repairs. Is a new car out of the question? Not necessarily.
It is possible to buy a new car with bad credit if you know where to look and how to prepare. Here’s how this kind of car buying works and what to keep in mind throughout the process.
Why Would a Dealership Finance Your Car?
How can you buy a brand-new car when you have a spotty credit history? There are a number of reasons why a lender would let someone with a troubled credit history finance a new car.
From the lender’s perspective, a new car has more value and therefore offers more collateral that can be reclaimed if the buyer fails to make payments. The lender also has the assurance that a new-car buyer will actually keep up with payments. His money won’t be diverted to the costly repairs that sometimes befall older cars.
From the dealership perspective, a new car is an investment in a relationship that will pay off in other ways later on.
“Half the time, we’re not making any money on the deals,” says Rinaldi Halim, general manager for Nissan of Duarte, a dealership in Southern California that says it’s proud of the fact it takes on clients in all credit tiers. “We want to have a relationship with that customer,” Halim says.
One new-car sale won’t yield much (if any) profit, Halim says. But it will pay dividends when customers refer their family and friends, resulting in more car sales, including some that will be profitable for the dealership. The sales also pay off when people get their vehicles serviced in the maintenance department. Years later, the initial customers will likely trade in those “no-profit” cars for new ones. The dealership will sell the initial cars as used ones. And if they’ve been well maintained, they will turn a tidy profit for the dealership.
If you’re someone who has bad credit but wants to buy new, it is best to start planning for it well in advance, as you would with any major purchase.
You need to start with your credit report to see how it would look to a lender. Run it at least three months before you plan on buying so you can take action on any outstanding items, recommends Rod Griffin, director of public education for credit reporting company Experian.
Annual Credit Report.com gives you one free report a year on each of the major credit reporting companies: Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. Take advantage of it.
Getting your actual credit score typically costs money, but your score will give you an idea of the credit tier into which you fall. Experian defines subprime (which includes deep subprime, as low as you can go) as a 619 score or below on its Vantage scale.
Once you get the free credit report, pay close attention to the section that points out potentially negative items, also called risk factors. Risk factors could be anything from an old debt that went to collection to a fine you had to pay in a civil court case.
Rather than viewing them as black marks on your credit, “These risk factors can empower you as a consumer to help rehabilitate your credit,” Griffin says. The risk factors are present in all reports, so if you fix an issue you found on one credit report, the action will be reflected on all the other reports.
Experian says it offers an added benefit with its credit report and score. For $40, you get your credit score from Experian and a 35-minute session with a credit educator. This person will go over your report and point out items that need attention and give you tips on how to address it.
Get Pre-Approved and Choose a Dealer
Because your credit is bad, you will be paying a high interest rate, perhaps as high as 18 percent in California, for example. But some rates still could be better than others. This is why it’s important to seek approval from more than one lender.
To find out which car dealers may be willing to finance people with iffy credit, pay attention to radio commercials or billboards from dealerships that say things such as “Your job is your credit!” or “Bad credit? No Problem!” These are good places to start. Steer clear of the “buy here, pay here” lots, however, since they don’t sell new cars.
Many dealership Web sites have credit applications you can fill out online to get pre-approved. If you don’t see the application on the front page, it may be under the “Finance” tab.
Also, check with your own bank or credit union. They may be more willing to approve you since you already have an established financial relationship with them. You might also try Road Loans from Santander Consumer USA, which specializes in subprime loans.
Don’t worry that filling out too many loan applications will harm your credit. “Lenders know you are searching for the best rate,” Griffin says. As long as you apply for loans in a 14-day period, they will only count as one “hard” inquiry on your credit report.
Bring Documents To Show You’re a Good Credit Risk
When you go into the dealership to talk about financing, you need to bring along some important paperwork. These items will allow a dealership to establish who you are and confirm that you have a job, that you have a history of making monthly payments on time and have friends or family the dealership can contact to find you if you stop making payments. Bring these items with you:
The most recent pay stub from your job
Your utility bill (gas, water, electricity)
Your driver license
Three personal references
Stay in Your Price Range and Look at the Total Costs
Most people know what they can afford for a monthly car payment. But that sometimes ignores the bigger picture. Just because you qualified to buy a $22,000 midsize sedan doesn’t mean you should buy it. For example, if you scale back and purchase a $17,000 compact sedan, you’ll free up $100 per month. This is money you could use for gas, insurance or to pay other bills.
“We love our leather seats and sunroofs,” says Griffin, “but when your credit isn’t stellar, it is better to look at a lower-end automobile.”
Halim gives an example of a deal made for someone with bad credit: a $16,000 Nissan Versa, minus a $1,000 bonus cash incentive, financed for 72 months with $1,000 down. The interest rate would be around 17.9 percent, which would bring the monthly payment to about $354. At the end of the six years, you would have paid $25,485 for that Versa.
These numbers will vary based on how much you’re putting down, what you’re financing and what you’ve been approved for, but it gives you a rough idea on what this type of deal looks like. A sizable percentage of the loan will be the interest ($9,927 in this example), but this is the reality when you’re borrowing in this credit tier.
Just remember that it could be worse if you were dealing with a “buy here, pay here” car purchase. While talking to Halim, for example, we heard about a customer who had purchased a car from a “buy here, pay here” dealership and no longer wanted the car. The loan was for $4,200, to be paid over 36 months. The person already had made 22 payments of $322 and still owed $3,800 on the principal, thanks to an exorbitant interest rate. It approached the California legal maximum of 29.9 percent.
Resist the Urge To Trade Up
A number of new-car dealerships offer their credit-challenged customers the chance to trade into another vehicle without a significant increase in their monthly payment, provided they’ve made a year’s worth of consecutive on-time payments. While it may be tempting to get out of a Nissan Sentra and into a Nissan Altima, for example, you will be adding more debt to your next loan.
If you want to move up to a larger or nicer car, a smarter strategy is to refinance the current loan for a lower interest rate and monthly payment, then stick out the loan until the initial car is paid off. When it’s time to purchase your next car, you should be in a higher credit tier (assuming you’ve also done well on your other bills), and will qualify for a nicer car.
If you’ve done your credit homework, shopped within your price range and made all your payments, you’ve not only improved your credit score but also set up positive finance habits that will serve you well for years to come.

Selling your car privately is likely to get you the best price, as long as you’re prepared to invest some time and effort in organising your sale. Here you can find out what’s involved – from advertising and paperwork to safety precautions at buyer viewings and when taking payment.
What to do when selling your car
Don’t base your advertised asking price on guesswork. Instead, try using car valuation tools on sites such as Auto Trader, Parkers, What Car? and CAP.
Advertising your car is your first, essential step to a successful sale.
There are many ways you can advertise, some free, others involving a cost.
Your choice of advertising will probably be determined by how urgently you need to sell your car.
Some of the most popular ways of advertising cars are:
‘For sale’ signs in local shop windows
Car auction sites, such as eBay and eBid
A ‘for sale’ sign in one of your car’s windows
In your local newspaper’s classified ads section
Car-selling websites such as AutoTrader and Gumtree
Whichever option(s) you choose, your advertisement must by law describe the car accurately and include the following details:
Your contact details
List of equipment/taxes
Full service history (or not)
The exact make and model
The year of manufacture and registration identifier (eg ‘09’ or ‘59’ plate for 2009)
Selling your car online
Images and pictures are very important when selling anything online.
Take a number of pictures from different angles and make sure they are of a good quality.
Advertising and selling your car online has several advantages and disadvantages:
Gives you access to a much wider audience.
Some online sites offer secure payment methods so you don’t have to worry about being scammed.
Allows you to give a lot more detail about the vehicle including pictures.
If selling on an auction site (like eBay) then you might not get as good a price as you hoped.
People will still want to see the vehicle before they buy or bid, so you will need to make time for these appointments.
Potential buyers will also be able to send in questions about the vehicle.
While it can be annoying to respond to all of them, it also gives you the chance to interact with interested buyers.
Too many questions can be avoided by including as much detail as possible in the description.
Ensuring safe payment
Once you’ve finished negotiating the price and agreed the sale with the buyer, you need to agree how they’ll pay the money to you.
Below are the main options available to you, with some tips to help ensure safe payment.
Cash in full
Make sure you count the money.
If possible, it’s a good idea to meet the buyer at your bank to take payment, so you can pay in the money immediately and the cashier will check the notes are genuine.
Immediate bank transfer using the CHAPS system
Keep possession of your car until the funds have transferred.
Bear in mind with this payment method you have to reveal your bank account details to the buyer.
Cheque or banker’s draft
Make sure you have proof of the buyer’s name and address – possibly a copy of a utility bill – so you can follow them up if you don’t receive payment.
If you have any doubts about them, don’t hand over the car keys until you know your bank has cleared the full payment into your account.
Most banks will show the cheque money arriving in your account by the next working day, but this is not the same as the cheque being cleared.
A common fraud is to present a cheque and get the bank to confirm the cheque has been paid in.
The seller then releases the goods, but a few days later the cheque bounces because it is fraudulent. By then the seller has lost their goods.
If your buyer wants to buy the car but can’t pay immediately, take a non-refundable deposit. £100 is the normal amount.
This will help cover your costs if they pull out and you have to re-advertise.
As soon as you’ve been paid for the car, you need to complete the following essential paperwork:
Write a receipt and make two copies – one for you and one for your buyer. It should include the date, price, registration number, make and model, plus you and your buyer’s names and addresses.
Complete and sends the V5C to the DVLA. This is done by completing the new keeper details (section 6) and signing section 8Complete and hand over the new keeper part of V5C to your buyer.
Give the new owner the car’s handbook, the keys (including any duplicate sets), the service logbook plus any receipts you have, and the MOT certificate if the car is over three years old. If you’re selling with a full service history, buyers also like to receive old MOT certificates and other maintenance receipts.
And finally, keep a separate note of the buyer’s name and address.
Don’t be tricked by fraudulent buyers
Did you know?
Around 7 million used cars change hands each year in the UK, many of them through private sales.
Selling your car privately can expose you to thieves posing as potential buyers.
Here are some recent scams to be on the look-out for:
Someone posing as a car exporter, who asks you to transfer ‘shipping fees’ to overseas ‘buyers’.
Phishing emails from so-called car buying and selling websites requesting login and payment details for your card.
Text messages expressing an interest in your car only for you to be charged at a premium rate if you respond by phone or text.
People wanting to buy your car using PayPal or similar e-payment systems – the account might have been set-up using false credit card details.
A buyer who pays by cheque and takes the car before the cheque clears, but the cheque bounces a few days later because it is a forgery or fake
A buyer offering to buy your car unseen who pays the full amount through PayPal. You’re then notified you’ve been overpaid and you’re asked to return the difference through a different online payment method. As you do this, the fraudster arranges for their original PayPal transaction to be reversed and you lose the money you’ve ‘returned’.
Safety when people come to view your car
As the people coming to view your car will usually be complete strangers, it makes sense to take some basic precautions:
When arranging a viewing, consider having a friend or family member present.
Ask the buyer for proof of identity and check that they have a valid driver’s licence.
Always remove the keys from the ignition before leaving a potential buyer alone in your car.
Go with potential buyers on test drives and don’t hand over the keys until you’re in the passenger seat.
Be wary if a buyer brings some ‘tag-a-long’ friends – they might plan to break into your house while you’re out on the test drive.
Don’t hand over the car keys or documents until your bank has confirmed it has cleared the full value of the vehicle into your account.
Ask the potential buyer to check with their insurance company they’re covered to drive your car. Even if they have a “driving other cars” policy it will probably only provide third party cover. Contact your insurance company – you might need to get temporary car insurance for the test drive.

Houston barbecue sauce takes first place in statewide H-E-B competition
Houston man among winners of H-E-B Primo Picks Quest for Texas Best.
Media: JW Player
Dennis Butterworth knew his barbecue sauce was good when some of his competition smoker friends started winning cook-offs with the homemade sweet-tangy elixir he was making in small batches. So he decided to start bottling and selling F.U.B.A.R. Elite BBQ Sauce (For Use on Butts and Ribs) in January.
That newbie sauce born in Houston is now poised to be a supermarket hit. F.U.B.A.R. won first place – and a $20,000 check – during the 2017 H-E-B Promo Picks Quest for Texas Best, an annual competition aimed at kickstarting culinary businesses by bringing them from obscurity to the shelves of the Texas grocery giant.
“My jaw hit the floor,” said Butterworth of finding out he was tapped from nearly 600 Texas businesses that applied to be among the competition’s 25 finalists. Those finalists – which included beef jerky, bone broth, honey, cheese rolls, empanadas, cakes, salsas, salad dressing and chilaquiles sauce – made presentations before judges last week in Austin. That’s where Butterworth’s sauce, which he used on pork ribs and pulled pork, scored with judges. F.U.B.A.R. tied with Lorraine’s Original Mini Texas Pecan Cakes from Bertram, for first place. The $25,000 grand prize was awarded to Skull Cakebones, a vegan dessert company in Austin. Tamale Addiction, a line of organic tamales from Austin, took second; Mi Tierra Salsa Verde from La Familia Cortez Restaurants in San Antonio came in third.
For Butterworth, the win was validation that his sauce, which he makes at a rented commercial kitchen, hits all the flavor notes with barbecue fans. He calls F.U.B.A.R. a “truly Houston-style barbecue sauce” because it is, like the Bayou City, a melting pot of cultures: the sauce combines flavors of barbecue traditions from Memphis, North Carolina and Central Texas. “We borrowed some ideas that were out there. Once we got the base we liked, we thought it was a good core flavor, then we started adding,” he said. “It took a lot of research.”
