There is an organization called the Classic Car Club of America, and they define these cars as being between 20 and 45 years old. The reason why they only go back as far as 45 years is because they feel as though cars that are older than that fall into the category of “antique” cars. There is also the requirement that the particular years and models of these cars be of considerable value when they were new and somewhat rare.

It is also specifically defined by the motor vehicle departments of the individual states for automobile registration purposes. Most states consider a car that is at least 20 year old and  maintained or restored to a condition that is similar to its original appearance as intended by the manufacturer to be “classic.” is the best resource on the web for all types of old cars.  Not only do we offer thousdands of vintage cars for sale in our classic classifieds section, we also have an active car community, car forum, and car blog.  In addition to our community features we also collect and post car resources for owners to find services such as car insurance, financing providers, transportation services, car part suppliers, inspection services, and suppliers of manuals.

2012 Toyota Yaris

The 2012 Toyota Yaris is a refreshed version of this subcompact model. While the model has many changes for 2012 perhaps the biggest change is that the sedan is no longer offered. With the growing sales of hatchbacks and their greater cargo capacity, Toyota has decided to refocus the Yaris as a hatchback only.

The Yaris comes in thee primary trim lines: L, LE, and SE. The SE trim is offered as a five-door only and has 16” alloy wheels. The L and LE offered three door trims. USB, Bluetooth, and auxiliary connections are standard.

2012 Changes

The 2012 Yaris has a sharper exterior with new front and rear fascias and new headlights and taillights. While the 2009-2011 Yaris had an awkward appearance, the 2012 Yaris looks a bit sportier, more along the lines of the new Hyundai Accent hatchback. The model’s height has been lowered by 0.6” inches to improve handling and balance.

The 2012 Yaris has a new instrument panel and redesigned thee-spoke steering wheel. The wheelbase grows by 1.9” allowing for greater interior room. Cargo room increases by an impressive 25% over the 2011 model. The Yaris also offers an impressive nine airbags standard.

Engine Fuel Economy

Toyota seems to be going the way of Honda and making only modest engine changes. The model still has a 1.5-liter 106 horsepower four-cylinder engine.

The Yaris also retains its antiquated four-speed automatic transmission option (a five-speed manual is standard) while several of its competitors offer six-speed transmissions. Toyota has made the engine lighter and extracted more fuel economy in the Yaris.

The 2012 Yaris’ fuel economy improves to 30-mpg city and 38-mpg highway with the manual and 30/35 with the automatic, which is comparable to the Honda Fit and Mazda Mazda2. According to Motor Trend. the 2012 Yaris SE has a 0-60 time of 9.1 seconds with the manual.

The 2012 Toyota Yaris has a starting MSRP of $14,115 with the 3-door L model. The top line Yaris 5-Door SE with the four-speed automatic starts at $17,200. The 2012 Yaris is on sale now.

Buy Your Dream Car—for Less Than $6000

The fourth-generation (C4) Corvette was one of the most anticipated automotive launches ever. After all, the third-generation Vette had been in production for 14 years, spanning three decades. The rumors swirled. In the ’70s and early ’80s, the new C4 Vette under development was reported to have a Wankel rotary midengine. But that was not to be. Instead, GM held out until the 1984 model year to launch a sleek new front-engine, V8-powered C4 Vette with incredible handling capability and a modern interior. Every school kid at the time was in awe of the new Corvette. The tires alone—255/50VR16s—were so wide, with such low profiles, that they made it look like a concept car. But that first year for the C4 Vette has one of the worst resale values today. Part of the blame comes from the Cross Fire Injected (twin diagonally opposed throttle bodies) 5.7-liter V8 that carried over from the previous car as well as the troublesome 4 + 3 overdrive manual transmission. But don’t let that scare you away. You can pick up an automatic ’84 Vette with just over 100,000 miles for $3000 to $4000. We’d pull the stock 205-hp V8 and swap in any number of great small-block crate engines. It wouldn’t be hard to make an ’84 with the right motor run with a ’94 or even a 2004 Corvette. Want better performance straight from the factory? Shop for an ’85 or ’86 Vette, when GM dropped in the much improved, and much more powerful, L98 Tuned-Port Injected V8 with 235 hp. A nice ’85 with just 40,790 miles sold recently on eBay for $5100. That’s a steal. And buying an early C4 Corvette for cheap means you’ll get an amazing amount of garage eye candy and performance per dollar.

Used Vans/Minivans by Make

Certified Pre-Owned Vans/Minivans Sales

There is an increasing market for used Vans/Minivans that have been put through a certified pre-owned program. These vehicles give the consumer a chance to buy the latest models, often only two or three years old, at big savings compared to a new Van/Minivan. More than a third of all late model Vans/Minivans sold last year, had a certified pre-owned warranty.

They are typically vehicles that have low mileage, are in excellent condition, and have been put through a rigorous battery of tests that are monitored by the manufacturer. Most certified Vans/Minivans are just off-lease, from factory auctions, trade-ins, or rental fleets.

While payments on a new vehicle maybe lower, a new Van/Minivan depreciates by 10 to 20 percent the moment you drive it off the car lot. If you buy a certified pre-owned Van/Minivan, you avoid the initial depreciation; yet have an almost new Van/Minivan with an exceptional warranty. Beyond that, certified used programs provide additional warranties that you can buy, often up to 100,000 miles that also includes free incentives such as roadside assistance, and often exceed the coverage offered by the manufacturer when purchased new. The certification programs increase consumer quality confidence.

Simply put, when you buy a certified pre-owned Van/Minivan, everyone is satisfied. You have built-in guarantees, the manufacturer sells stockpiled vehicles returned from fleets or leases, and dealers increase their customer satisfaction.

Cheapest cars to buy in 2015

Here are the 10 cheapest cars on sale in the UK, plus what we think of them

If you’re looking for a new car, but only want to pay used car prices, you might be surprised at what you can get your hands on in today’s market.

The cheapest cars you can buy in Britain today are a surprisingly strong bunch, with a solid selection of city cars and larger superminis available. There’s even a practical estate car – and it happens to be the second-cheapest new car you can buy today according to manufacturer list prices.

That budget estate is called the Dacia Logan MCV. and it’s a more spacious version of the cheapest car in the list: the Dacia Sandero. At just £5,995, the Sandero is extremely good value – it’s big enough to get a bicycle in the boot, and comes with a decent range of engines. It’s not too bad to drive either – but do be aware that the cheapest model doesn’t even come with a radio.

At this end of the market, equipment is what you lose out on compared to a similarly-priced used car: these cheap new cars have great warranties and have a lot going for them, but tend to lack kit as standard.

Go for a city car like the Toyota Aygo or SEAT Mii. though, and you’ll enjoy yourself anyway: these cars are much more advanced than city cars used to be and offer a far more grown-up driving experience. The Skoda Citigo is a particular favourite of ours, too.

All of the prices listed in this article are for the entry-level model in each car’s range, so if you decide to add some optional extras or go up to a higher specification when you buy, you’ll have to pay a bit more.

Click on the links below or to the left to read more about each car – we’ve also included up to the top 15 below.

Cheapest Used Cars to Maintain #chevy #auto #parts

    #cheapest used cars

    Cheapest Used Cars to Maintain

Estimating the maintenance cost of used cars is difficult because there are too many variables. Some cars should be expected to last longer than average; and some drivers ride their car a lot harsher than others. That s why you see estimated annual maintenance costs for new cars, but not used. Still, we looked at those numbers and cross-referenced them with reliability rankings to come up with this list of five of the cheapest used cars to maintain.

    Top Pick: Toyota Corolla

A lot of Toyota models could make this list, but Corolla stands out. Like other Toyotas, stuff rarely ever breaks and the big items (engine and transmission) virtually never do, as long as you change the oil and do other routine maintenance. The thing that makes Corolla different form other Toyotas is that more of them were built, which translates into a large aftermarket for replacement parts that keeps prices down.

    Chevrolet Aveo

This car won t register high on anyone s thrill meter, but it holds up pretty well. And if you can t believe GM built a car to last — well, it didn t. This number came to Chevy via Korean maker Daewoo, which never got as much love from American audiences as it deserved. Get the latest model year you can afford, as quality improved throughout the car s lifespan.

    Honda Civic

Like the Corolla, this car is extremely reliable and popular enough that parts are cheap and widely available. It just missed the top spot because its incredible reliability is only slightly less incredible than Corolla s.

    Mini Cooper

At its best Mini Cooper belongs on this list, but it s a little more hit-or-miss than the others. Try to get one with the lowest mileage you can afford to decrease your chances of running into engine problems. Also, avoid those built before 2007, or you’ll likely be looking at an expensive timing chain replacement.

    Subaru Impreza

These rugged, durable cars typically go well over 100,000 miles and are relatively cheap to maintain. Check carefully for oil leaks before you buy, though, because those should be a deal-breaker. If gaskets start to wear after you buy, you can mitigate the damage and maybe forestall an expensive repair by keeping an eye on oil levels and adding oil as necessary.

    Others to consider

If a small car doesn t meet your needs but you still want comparatively low maintenance costs, consider the Toyota Tacoma pickup, Honda Element SUV. or Nissan Quest minivan .
